KyleODaniel
Hey guys, I might be mistaken, but I thought someone already made a thread for this but I can't find it, is there any way to convert your stock steering wheel (no controls) to one that has the controls in it and everything work? Thanks- Kyle
1BAD2K
Yes, you need the steering wheel with redundant radio controls, and the clock spring (airbag harness) for it to work. Here is an excellent write up. Youll need to follow his link that says clock spring install: http://www.jrrod2004.com/silverado/
bassmaster
I believe all you need is the clockspring for the control wheel and wheel. Am not 100% sure though as ive never done the swap Edit. He beat me to it. chawkins6789
I did it using his instructions. It is easy, but it is time consuming. It is also very expensive. After programming, the adapter harnesses for aftermarket stereo, wheel, and clockspring I was.close to $1000 into it Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk

chawkins6789
2 codes. One to enable everything in the bcm and one to enable the dic Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk
1BAD2K
Oh got ya. I wasn't thinking about that, I put in an SS cluster which I believe should have the DIC functionality just by plugging in the correct harness/wheel.
chawkins6789
It may work, i think they install both as one package. I paid 115 for my programming and my truck spent 5 days in the dealer
