coal miner
Ditch it and get a custom tune!! Different mufflers will help to! The flowmaster don't flow good.

JC03SS
I had one a long long time ago. I think I played with the shift points till I got it as high as possible. It was a hypertech. But I'm with the others the programs are worth a flip. We all know about what funds will allow. Me personally I'd save up 350 and go with one of the great tuners here like Zippy Wheatley BlackBear Kellyperformance. Well worth ever cent and they will take care of all the guess work. And most if not all are free retunes whenever you need one. I have a hypertech laying in my garage collecting dust that cost more than my Tune and it's not even in the same category lol. Hostcoat
Like I said I'm new and get they are junk but it came with the truck would I be safe at 1&2 at +300 2&3 +300 4&5 +200 or should numbers go another way to -
JC03SS
Best thing you can do is adjust and drive. See where your shifts are and go from there. If your set on using it that's the best advise I can give.
onebadmax
Your safe OP, I shift at 6500rpm. Rev limiter set 6800rpm. + 500 on shifts isn't going to hurt anything. Just start low and adjust till you like it.

SuperStock
IMO I wouldn't adjust the shift points, a long time ago I had a hypertech on my 2500 and I think I remember it asking me if I wanted firm shift and if I had a shift kit. onebadmax
:oSent using Tapatalk. You honestly think a hypertec is going to hurt one of these motors?!!!! LOL
cb2big4u
It's not the hypertech that would worry me over reving the motor to almost 7k rpms... Sent using Tapatalk.
onebadmax
His hypertec won't let him get anywhere near that!!!! I'm using EFI Live. I forgot where it shifts stock, but it's in the 5000rpm range lol. IM thinking about bumping my shifts to 6800. He can only add 500rpm to his stock shift points, that is no problem at all. Hostcoat
So I can set my rpm at 5800 1&2 +400 2&3 +400 3&4 +400 and am I good yo say I can't hurt anything
onebadmax
Are you shifting at 5800 rpm? If so thatx fine. No reason to go higher with the mods you have.
