eberhama
I'm putting a theft recovered 05 SS back together. Was hoping to put the ends back on the harness but too much stuff is cut, it would take forever and still not be right. I guess its 05 only, and would need to be bose/auto temp. Onstar/XM would be great but i can live w/o that. I dont think awd/rwd matters. Im near Fargo ND. TIA Matt
EXGM
I would just try and source one locally form a junk/wrecking/auto recycler. Any 05 GMC or Chevy EC pickup with same options as yours should work. I've even seen a few late model GM's at the local u-pull it. Advantage of taking out yourself on a junk truck you can practice before you rip yours apart....

I know 05 is different from 03-04, but any reason why it would be different from 06-07 classic on the interior? If I'm going to buy one, I figured I try for the correct one first. It cant be a real big demand item, I figured someone might have something laying around. I think a 1500 2wd/4wd would work if it comes to that, but all we have is plain janes right now. By Auto Temp, do you mean Digital temp Vs. Manual??? I know 05 is different from 03-04, but any reason why it would be different from 06-07 classic on the interior? Yep..Digital. I know the wiper motor is different, the shift indicator, I think the gas pedal assembly changed. I seemed to remember something about the heater set up changing?? Just enough stuff so one wouldnt work on the other.

Unfortunately I don't have time to tear into the 05 truck right now to compare the differences. I do know the digital climate controller is different from 03-04 to 05 up model just not sure if the plugs or anything else changed.
1FASTBRICK
Unfortunately the idiots on Ebay are not smart enough to list if it's digital or manual climate control but there are a few on ebay. Do you have the part number that's on the harness tag?
eberhama
I have the part number at work. Unfortunately, that just tells me the exact one that would work, not whats "close enough". I can look them up by vin, but no one on eBay or carpart lists the vin. 1FASTBRICK
I am just curious because Not all SS trucks were digital climate control at least in 05, 06, 07 since you could get Cloth or Leather as an option for the first time. I have a parts truck, but I don't recall if it is digital or manual either.
eberhama
I forgot i took a picture of the tag, its 15242343.
1FASTBRICK
Looks like you're right, Specific to 05, and according to the 1 GM parts site it showed AWD or 4x4. It also showed being specific to CJ2 Auto Climate Control. Is yours 2WD or AWD? I know If its 2WD it would have a plug for traction control. eberhama
Mine is an AWD. I know the crew/avalanche/suburban/Tahoe/escalade ones are different, with no pass. Airbag switch, and the standard cab won't have the console/Bose harness. Not sure whats different on a hybrid truck, you'd think there would be a bunch of extra hybrid b.s., but maybe that's separate.

From what I recall the hybrid stuff was all underhood... they didn't make many so finding a wrecked one may be a challenge unless you have one. Just tell your boss to pick up what you need on his next trip to the salvage auction! LOL.
eberhama
Oddly enough...my buddy gave me an '05 2WD hybrid harness to try. It was bose/auto temp. so hopefully I can make that work. It still has the button next to the airbag switch that turns the 110v outlet in the box on/off. I'm going to leave that, make people scratch their head as to what that does,
eberhama
All right...hybrid is pretty different. One more try, anybody have anything?
