6.0ss
Most of you have seen the Amps I have stuffed into my rear seat! The seat weighs about 100 lbs or more now and lifing it to show people what is under it became a back breaker, So I went to a Car parts store and bought a Gas Charged Lift, They are usualy on hatch backs to hold the 5th door open or hold car trunks up, they come in all size shape and strength! This little guy is a 8 inch unit with 110 lbs of force behind it. Now I just pull the seat strap and the seat goes up all by its self!!
XGMTech
That is really slick! Did you have to drill a hole in the side of that seat bracket or was there already one there to use?

dcairns
That is tempting to do, even though I don't have the extra weight of amps. It is a clever idea.
SuperSport
where do you get those gas charged lifts from ? are they expensive ?
6.0ss
If you have a factory rear seat, I would recomend getting one that has less push than mine, this unit has 110 lbs of push, a 50-60 lb would probably work for the stock seat. The gas charged unit I bought at Murrays Discount Auto Supply, They have a whole rack of them ranging from 3 inches to 19 inches and priced from 12 dollars to 30 dollars, I don't remember how much a factory seat weighs any more or what kind of force you need to lift it but it is a cool factor and does not get in the way at all!
