well i was bored today and decided to go check out a friends hobby shop i used to frequent back in my nitro racing RC days... His shop was one of my sponsors (my sponsor whore-ship has no limits)... anyways it had been about 6 years since i have seen him and he was bitch about sales being slow, with the economy and all, so I figured I would help him out and buy a new toy... he still gave me a smokin' deal... I used to race a Savage MT... so i decided to pick another one up... along with the basic gear. out the door with all the extra crap it was around $500 bucks... didnt expect to buy anything.. but oh well.... wll post some video tomorrow after i break in the engine...

naw we wont have access to the airstrip... it is still active, we may see some fighter jets and helicopters land from time to time... even chase's truck cant compete with an f-22... lol I will call on monday to check the availability, but it shouldnt be a problem...

I had an idea... we are all looking for something cool to do, well my training academy is located on a US Military base and we utilize a 35 acre urban MOUT site... LAPD SWAT, SHERIFF SWAT, Spec Ops training, and more is all conducted on this site... we could all meet there, have a big BBQ, and run around and do paint ball / airsoft games all day... you can rent PB equiptment fairly cheap and we could have a killer time without anyone bothering us... the place is secluded on base and is huge... there are days we train out there and never see anyone, especially on weekends... there is a fee to use the facility but depending upon how many show up (this could be open to other than just the SSS site too...) but a fee of $15-$20 per person would be about average. I would need to know ASAP to clear it with the base commander... and here is the best part - it is located just off the 405 frwy and the 605 frwy right near Los Alamitos / long beach airport area.... These pictures show the houses in the background... 35 acres is a lot of room and we wouldnt be bothered, and parking is a plenty! Julien has seen it.

i see you counter sunk the screws and flamed the edges, well from what i can see... I need one in CF... but when the time is right im gonna hit up my boy Artie... only thing i would have done a little differently is put a 1/4" foam gasket between the plexi and the box... to seal it...

i think you should check your facts on color, picture, and motion... there has a been a ton of upgrades on LCDs.... I had a budget of 5k for a new flatscreen about 4 months ago and I compared LCDs and Plasmas for several weeks and went to several stores... it was between a pioneer plasma and a Samsung LCD... i choose the LCD... lots of technology has changed with refresh rates... basically it boils down to what look best in person and a rock solid warranty... plus plasma has a burn in potential... anyways, my first intention was plasma all the way... but after a ton of research i reluctantly switched... and have been 100% satisfied.

I have a new Samsung 52" LCD... the Prosumer model... it was $3899 at best buy plus tax, 4 year unconditional warranty, blueray (ps3), Stand, and yamaha sound bar... The whole set up was about $6500... well worth it... and yea the 120hz refresh rate makes a difference... something to consider is that most TV doesnt even come close to the 1080P broadcast... at most it is 1080i which is comparable to 720p... it will take awhile before 1080p becomes standard broadcast... if ever...lol

I have a grip of sponsors, but like the others said, it is NOT easy, you get a lot of NO Thank-your's but like chase said... i had to get my truck to a level on my OWN dime before i was even considered for sponsorship... I won truck of the month over at PT.net along with CFT here without any sponsors. Once i submitted my truck to truckin' they liked it and ran a picture, i then established a friendship with the editors and told them i wanted to build a super truck (in progress) and they said they would cover each MOD with a write up in the magazine... so armed with that I approached many vendors... It took tons of phone calls, dozens of complete truck write ups and a lot of patience... But like Rob and Chris said, rarely is stuff for free. I had to make deals with a lot of my sponsors... here is my list thus far... I hate when people get jealous and say I got everything for free which is NOT the case... i originally dropped 35k into my truck before even 1 sponsor... and most of my sponsors i paid cost on the products, yet I have to have THEIR sticker or logo on my truck, which looks lame (I'm old school i like a clean sticker free truck), and I also had to sign agreements on each of these as well as magazine/catalog agreements... in addition to if a sponsor calls and says, hey we want to shoot your truck for our upcoming catelog... and forget it being a daily driver, hell I haven't driven it in MONTHS... and certainly wont be able to drive it daily... I wont ever be able to just park the truck and go shopping at the mall, it will get jacked or someone will ding it or even hate on it... i cant drive it daily as cops seem to notice a 80k truck with 800 hp... it is basically a ticket machine. So don't think a sponsorship/trophy truck is all cracked up to what it seems... it is VERY frustrating to say the least. BTW - thanks rob for trying to keep me anynomous...

i once had a large 125 gallon salt water tank... i was as much into it as i am into my truck... meaning i spent buku money on it... anyways... i once had this large porcupine puffer that was about the size of a large grapefruit... whenever i was near the tank he would follow me around... eventually i would stick my hand in the tank and he would swim over to me and i could pet the top of his head, he loved it... after some time he would swim over and sit in my hand and let me clean him, he was my little buddy... had iridescent brigh blue eyes... he never puffed up and was a very happy fish, the tank superstar... it was a sad day when i moved 400 miles away, i could not take him on that trip, i had to sell all the fish in my tank, i didnt much care about the other fish, but selling the puffer made me sad... until i went out and spent the money on booze and hookers... LOL... JK.
