  1. I KNEW I KNEW I KNEW>..... but i know all... muhahahahah JK.... kick ass man... we are now brothers in print... now give me a some good prices on some stereo stuff!!! lol....
  2. Happy Effin birthday brother... that is one sick ass harley... and i know you wont keep it stock for long!!!! Damn i need to get a bike so we can go ridin... throw some old school pin striping on that bad boy FTW! I know a really good guy who might throw some lines on my truck... Have fun and be safe!! KICK ASS BIKE!
  3. ditch the MAF on stage 1 and go with a CAI... Volant for the win!!! Plus they look killer and it will give you much better performance than a MAF... Stay away from NOS at least a budget one... like black2003ss said, spend the money on a quality kit with all the bells and such... get headers in stage 2...
  4. then dont waste your money on the 2300... the 1900 will do just fine and be just as efficient... and the 1900 is available now.
  5. just turn off your caps... thanks and welcome to the site... be sure to take a moment to check out the site rules...
  6. your info is off... the LSX was a 434 CID and the TVS ran 935hp at the crank... i believe it was at 15psi... but at 2k rpm it made 710 tq... I was going to go with an F1r... but the SUPPORT from procharger for a truck application was weak... i was told i would have to create or build my own drive mount system.... if you are looking for this type of power you'd better know what you are getting yourself into first.... $$$$$$ and headache.... and youd better have everything else done right before the engine... transmission, gears, driveline, and most of all a great tuner...
  7. your truck finally realized you're the fuzz and is retaliating against you... LOL....
  8. my neighbors would be pissed!
  9. straight lines are very, scratch that, extremely hard to pull off... and because of the variations of your skin they probably wont look good and it will look sloppy... the waving flag would be something you should consider... 320 is NOT at all a lot of money for something like this... my left arm sleeve was $6k...
  10. looks super clean... i really like the toneau covers that have the rear lip/spoiler... blacked out leds would really round out the whole rear end.... looks good clean work as always danny
  11. and here i thought you were coming out of the closet... :jest: JFWY man! Best of luck to you cutting the metaphorical umbilical cord... here is a big tip... shoot for success for yourself not to prove it to your dad... no matter what you do, or how much you succeed, it will never be enough... i went through the same thing many years ago with my own dad... and with all of my success he just credits it to luck... or some other sh!t... make success your own! we can choose our friends, not our family... today is the first day of the rest of your life, the canvas is empty - paint your own picture! as Rob Schneider from the water boy put it so eloquently... "You can do it!!!"
  12. i love this disclaimer... "Image is a representation of this part. Actual part may vary. " essentially it could look nothing like this... lol. goodmark FTW
  13. oh you must not know better...lol... i always say im going but never show up... its an on going joke...at least i find it funny...lol
  14. well if the above doesnt make people hate me the following will for sure... my company is getting a TV documentary show (warner bros production), kinda like american choppers or dog the bounty hunter... filming starts in October, a full season - 12 one hour episodes initially, and yea, I will be the guy in charge and on camera... LOL... and yea, that is all I will mention for now...
  15. muhahahaha... good seeing you Z... thanks for hangin out... how is the reception with that ant? no pics... drop and wheels tomorrow... then hopefully this weekend...
  16. chase i was glad to help you out with that along with the magazine hook up... your truck deserves it... yea my truck is a prom queen... but like most prom queens, this bitch aint puttin' out... LOL... yea me and Chase are working on something pretty big.. the details are still in the works - but us socal guys need to stick togther... ( watch out for those Texas guys...) small update - I went and cracked open my LSX block and i realized it didnt come with anything! I was like WTF... i took it back to the stealership and raised some hell... a complete new block is on its way. apparently the block they sent me was a display model!!! bastards... anyways, a GM rep got involved and all hell broke loose... this all happened today. also - i pick up the truck from paint tonight and the complete susupension and drop and wheels goes in tomorrow - i am doing a suspension tech article with truckin and they will be out there all day to shoot the story - i will post pics over the weekend. brad - youre still a hater - lolz
  17. At first my thoughts on writing this thread was more to shut up the haters, which always seem to talk smack behind my back and are two-faced big time... (funny how no one seems to talk shit to me directly) anways... as i started to write, i figured i would make this more about trying to help people by sharing my own process and in turn some other members can try it out for themselves... because there is no way the haters (and i really dont mean anyone in particular from this site... just people i meet on other boards or on the streets, maybe a few on here ;)...) but there is no way the typical hater would even go to half of the measures that most of us who are sponsored have gone through... as far as my truck... i FINALLY, and i mean FINALLY get it back tonight, 100% done with paint and body... then TOMORROW at 6am it is off to yet another shop... this time for a complete belltech suspension and drop... along with some caltracs and of course my pretty new wheels and tires... so new paint, drop, wheels/tires, suspension, OEM SS front end with EZ Billet grill inserts top and bottom and bumper cover, new headlights by Sprayed99 (thanks!), a new windshield (old one broke when they took it out for paint lol) all done by sat... i will shine her up and post some pics Sat night... oooOOOoooo... then of course it is back into the shop next week... triple gauge pod and autometer gauges... socal diesel pod with dual aeroforce gauges... and just maybe a new interior...
  18. hahahahahaha... this thread is comical... didnt chase start this?? now rob took over? now the dates are all screwed up? wtf poeple... you cant please everyone... my bet is that no one actually gets together... or here is a novel idea... get together BOTH weekends.... those who can make it on both show up, others who cant, go to the one you can make.... problem fricken solved... its not rocket science...
  19. Mike and Santagf is right... sponsor A often times wont let you have sponsor B... because a conflict of interest. and just like mike said, I too have turned down at least 3 sponsors who contacted me... i respectfully declined for reasons of my own volition... and as well i have had friends ask me to "hook" them up... which is hard to do when it is hard enough getting yourself hooked up...
  20. feeling is mutual pal... lol... surpised you read the whole thing, err... did Kaitlin read it to you?
  21. ive been there several times through work, and ONCE as a party guest... talk about a huge difference between work and pleasure.... the place is nice... the grotto is very cool... but there is SO much staff there and random ass people, no wonder Heff is pulling the plug... the place does not resemble a home at all... more like a hotel that is very busy all the time. the time i was a guest was a Johnny Walker party... scotch was obviously served throughout the night.
  22. SO over the past 2 years of owning my 2004 silverado, I have dumped ridiculous amounts of money into my truck... i have done many mods which were later taken off and sold, at a loss... i have blown through 4 transmissions... and my truck has been in repair or mod shops MORE than it has been driven... As of last year i had accumulated in excess of 30k in receipts for mods.... I am probably another 20k into it since then... I have spent a lot of time, energy, and headache into this project... all on my own accord, period. Once i got my first magazine pic in the readers rides section last year in Truckin' and after I won truck of the month at PT.net and CFT here on our site i decided i wanted to make this a complete show truck project... and started in on a plan and decided I would need some help in the process... I did my due diligence and contacted many companies and showed them pictures of my truck and asked for their consideration for some sponsorship help.... after several REJECTIONS, i did not stop... i finally got some help from Baer... a complete set of their brakes for close to 2k... NOT free... but a great deal none the less. From there it started, I would contact many companies... Many said NO, some said ok - we'll give you parts at cost, and very few for free... but all these came at a cost... loyalty to brand was first, sticker placement on my truck was second, and thirdly, the deciding factor in all of this, magazine coverage. I must have contaced Dynatech headers 6 or 7 times looking for a sponsorship... I wanted a set of their headers - I wasnt going to take no for an answer... but each time i called, i got a NO, thank you. 6 no's... and i didnt give up... i went to SEMA last your almost specifically to make some connections... at the top of the list - DYNATECH... i had to stop by their booth - 2 days in a row in order to talk to the guy in charge... it was only after all that effort that they agreed to be apart of the project... so it isnt as simple as some think. I dont have some magical wand to get free products, i wish i did, but what i do have is commitment to this project and a return for products - placement in a magazine (tech articles, etc)... I MADE connections in this industry... before 2 years ago i had no idea what half of the things i know now are, i didnt know anyone in the automotive industry... i initiated these connections and contacts. I often get comments like "Must be nice... " or "how do i get free stuff" and always... "oh he gets everything for free..." at which i laugh and know the person behind that comment has their head up their ass... the world is filled with sponsorships... look at the following: every motorsport - NHRA, NASCAR, INDY, etc all is dependent upon sponsorships All pro sports and athletes - NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, and the list goes on... my point in all of this is dont be a hater if your car or truck is not sponsored, if you really want sponsorship(s) go out a build a truck worth sponsoring, dont bitch about it or hate on others who have taken the time and hard work to accomplish a kick ass car. Here are a few tips... to help you out, stuff that worked for me.... Hire a professional photographer and get some Great pics of your car or truck... spend the $200 on a photoshoot... even if you never get 1 sponsor, you will have some great photos to keep in 30 years from now to remember your car/truck Create a vehicle profile / proposal... highlight EVERYTHING you have done to your ride... with pictures of the whole process along with a list of mods and sponsors if any. Give potential sponsors a reason to sponsor you... maybe you have a connection with a magazine, or an event or plan on doing the whole car show circuit... be as detailed as possible... show them benefits of why they should sponsor you. Be ameniable - dont ask for free shit, ask them if they want to be involved with the project... leave it in their hands what they want to offer... they will let you know what they are willing to offer, it is from there the negotiations can begin. Be assertive but dont pester them... it can take several phone calls and or emails to get your proposal in front of a decision maker... even then it may take awhile to get a reply. Be prepared to sign contracts... i know i had to sign a few already that made stipulations of sticker placement, number of car shows, magazine commitments, etc... this can include any number of things you are repsonsible for. Do you think if jeff gordon lost every race of the 2008 season his sponsors wouldnt take notice? Have a final vision of your project... write it down, put all of the parts you want on a bulletin board and look at them every day... know exactly what you want your ride to be when it is finished... this is critical... looking at the list of parts will help you see the final product, and if you can see it, you can show someone else your vision. Finally, enjoy the journey... cause this it what it is about - the final project is great but it is the journey that makes it even greater... you will break parts, stuff will go wrong, and bad times will happen along the way, but this is what it is all about... and of course, be prepared to spend some $$... everything comes at a cost. so inclosing, dont be a hater, appreciate the what someone has done, there is a lot more behind a project than you assume... there is no "sponsorship handbook" that can magically make parts appear in your mailbox... it is all about commitment, hard work, $, and MAKING connections... i hope this has shed a little light on the subject of sponsorships... those of you who already have sponsorships know what I am talking about, those who want to travel down this road, I hope this has helped.
  23. kudos to Zippy for takin' charge and runnin' this sh*t... i hate it when people whine...
