at 115 mph, that is the torque converter locking, thats normal... you can change the speed at wich it locks, but you have to be the judge of that. what kind of TC are you running
performabuilt tc, 3800 JUST ORDERED a triple disc from PI
-
what is the HP gain from L92 swap?
440 452 with alittle left in it ;)
-
One question tho..... when it got around 115 mph, why did the rpms fall a little bit?
dunno we're investigating the tune, around 115 at wot the converter locked.. still doing tweaks on the tune.
-
wow! that speedo moves fast! awesome man!
thanks, yeah it does but not fsast enough lol ;) new times coming soon, with new torque converter and gears
-
the truck valves and LS3 valves are different. same size but the LS3 are hollow stem deals.
true i got the hollow valve stems from TSP!!
vigilante ordered this morning!! cant waite!!
-
I was going to have him spec my cam but was kind of worried about him???glad he got yours good./
he nailed it with a little play, he was kinda worried about going big, i told him dont, when he sent me my numbers i asked if he left room he said with all serousness YES. i was like **** lol i would have went bigger!!! oh well its good enough for now ..
-
sounds great!
What RPM are you turning the motor to, 6500? And where did you top out in those
first two runs, 140mph?
6850 rpm, umm dunno i think it was close to 140 but i let off it was still pulling hard, never topped out..
mods are listed where my time slips are lol, let me check i'll link it here

hell yeah!! thanks for the props fellas, my plans is to get this heavy azz truck in the 11's !!! gonna be hard to drop .5 but if theres a will theres a way!!!! i'll give it my best, going in next week 4:10s and a PI $k will be ordered in the a.m, also some more retuning.. found a few things that could help out
got some vids fixing to be posted soon, some 30,50,60 rolls

thanks, I see where our set ups differ. I kind of wish I would have shaved the heads and upped the compression, but my budget was kind of set. Are you using LS3 valves?
you mean stock valve size? if so yes
-
interesting.
could you add your mods in here. I am running the L92's and will be very happy shooting for a 12.5
so your stall 'was' rated at 3800 b4 you added the L92 stuff? What did it flash to on those runs?
mods wow big list lol
l92 heads 2.5 ported TSP special, hollow valve stems
heads milled .015 and .040 gasket
l92 truck intake 42 # injectors
90mm throttle body
e-fans
cammed 232/238 600+ lift lsa 112 +2
built tranny 4l60e ( performabuilt)
stall 3800
dynatech headers
3" exhuast dumped ( duals)
3:73 gears
auburn pro series LSD
the stall is rated at 3800 it flashed at 2600, dunno if this will help my times but going to a PI 4k stall
and changing the gears to 4:10
goal now is to hit a 12 flat, then i'm done
actually i was running a 3200 fuddle stall before this setup, which felt more loose, this is a good stall for nitruos if you ask me, but i dont plan on spraying. rather do it NA
-
need a looser converter, 3800 wouldnt stall but to 2600. also going in next week 4:10 gears.. not bad and very pleased with the out come .. feel theres a 12.0 pass with the right conditions..
-
both of these are sick trannys, but i have no idea which one to go with. FTL sounds good and if i order today i get 10% off my price. however with PerformaBuilt i don't have to send back my old tranny and the shipping is included, and if i order now i get their billet TC for $300 extra??? oh not to mention if you buy between now and christmas your name is entered in a drawing in which if you win you get a full refund of what you spent!!!! who cares i just want a bada$$ tranny!
i went with performabuilt and have no issues and putting down some decent HP 440, flt is an awesome unit but frank gave such a great deal i couldnt resist!!! there trannys are just as awesome

thats a badazz truck youre buddy has there!!! CONGRAT!! on the times!!!

personally, i think you would have been ok with a 3600-3800 i run a 9.5, STR1.69, 3800 daily and love it!! running a 232/238 cam. wasnt a big difference between the 3200 i had before until you hit the gas at WOT ;)
but by all means you'll be very happy with that 3200
