So i live in fremont, california and i need a good mechanic that knows pretty much everything about everything. I went to a performance shop in san jose and they were really nice and seemed really knowledgable...the thing is everytime i call to make an appt to do something....everyone is "at a doctors appt" or "getting a part". ive been waiting for quotes on some work and its been over a month. so basically im looking for an honest, reliable mechanic close to my house who knows what he is doing. any suggestions? i dont have work tomorrow so if i get a recommendation i can check the place out asap. -its a daily driver but i also take it to the tracks every month. -i currently have headers, cat back exhaust, short ram intake, and chip. mostly simple stuff but im slowly trying to get it all done. -gear ratio is stock, ive got 22s now but going to 20" ss wheels -tc is stock, but upgrading soon -future plans include posi, new gears, upg trans/clutch/tc, heads, bore, stroke, rocker arm package, sc or turbo, pulleys and obviously cams! its eventually going to be show worthy AND track worthy.

Well, just like the title says....a set(4) of 22x9.5 DAAT d60 rims wrapped in Falken ziex s/tz-04's i love these wheels and so does everyone that looks at my truck. Im selling them because im starting my ss clone project. i originally got the package for 3300. im letting them go for about 1700. the price is negotiable. i am also willing to trade for a set of stock SS wheels and tires. and just so theres no surprise the passenger side wheels have some slight curb rash. i have SOME pics but not super super good ones. here you go! more pics on request

ok so ive been wanting to get a rollpan for some time now. what im looking to do is run the exhaust tips out of the middle of the rollpan, pretty much like on a vette. i WAS going to get an ss vent style rollpan but if i run the exhaust thru it, i dont know if it will look lame or not. i found a smooth rollpan for cheap that has no vents or license plate inset...would it look best with what im doing? i also want to relocate my license plate obviously. probably inset it into the tailgate and flip the handle to the inside. what do you guys think?

originally i wanted to do a 6 speed manual conversion from my automatic. but that would cost waaaayyy too much...like 6 grand at the least. so i randomly thought of the b&m rocker shifters. i went to a performance shop not too far from my house and they said theyd look it up and see exactly what would have to be done and give me a quote. so my question is, have you heard of this being done before....if so how much would i expect to spend. and also, is it worth it? i already did a search but didnt find the exact answer i was looking for. i have a 4.8 and im looking for the best cam setup. im looking to get noticable gains. and i guess its a 2 part question... -What is the best cams for my engine? and -What is the average cost on getting it done? and another one -Is there any other mods i should do with cams? since they have to open it up anyway THANKS!
