  1. Yeah it's fun but I'll be the first to admit the timing for Rob and I's playing around wasn't ideal because of the traffic that was around. Kinda wish we weren't on the 405 fwy (worst fwy in the world, it's not smooth one bit) and that there wasn't any traffic around. Probably coulda picked a better place and time to do it.

Fastest I've ran my truck is 165 and that was only because I became too much of a chicken to keep going. :)

  2. Want to add my .02 cents if I may, for those interested in following in his footsteps or just curious...

What Dave has done requires a lot of work and alot of rejection. I walked the SEMA floor with him for 2 days and watched him get rejected 9 times out of 10 and told "not interested", "we don't do that", "we're all out of sponsorship products right now", "come back to us at the begining of the fiscal year", "We only deal with companies, no private sponsorship", "Looks like a great truck but we're not interested", "maybe later", etc...

Handling/managing all the rejection received in those 2 days is something %95 of people cannot handle...me included. :sigh: As he gained sponsors little by little I gained alot of respect for Dave and what it takes to talk and obtain sponsors. He even got rejected by a good friend of ours who we knew and I knew that hurt! :uhoh: Gaining sponsors is work and is not easy at all and requires lots of prep work. Not too many people have seen or know of the 50 page three ring binder he has on his truck with pictures, parts list, sponsors on board, Past/Present/Future directions of the vehicle, advertizers on board, etc...

The biggest misnomer about sponsorship is it's absolutely free and you get stuff because they are your friends. Sponsors are running a buissness, you have to be a proffesional and a buissnessman in order to gain their trust and interest in you. It's not let's be friends and now you can give me stuff. Dave has approched his build with a business metality and profesionalism which he is able to convey with the sponsors.

Finally, to put it another way...I've spent more money on my truck than Dave has... at least up till now. :jester: However I have maybe half the stuff he has and if I could do it again after seeing the work he's put into sponsorship to get those parts...I still wouldn't do it his way, I don't have the ability or the drive necessary to do it, and I already have a job, spank you very much! :smash:

  3. I have ONE set of the rear brakes for a 1999-2004 Silverado with rear DISK. I'm asking 1600.00 SHIPPED for these, they have the big rear disk and red calipers. These were purchased to install on my truck but the rear disk conversion from Wilwood never made it to market. If you are interested PM me with any reasonable offer. If you are looking to complete the kit with the fronts Brian (aka BlownChevy) can get them for you to complete the kit.

I will post up more pics once I returns home on Tuesday.

    These have a $1900.00 list.

  4. Dont' get it!! As badass as that car really is and would be the perfect fit for you, your primary purpose for this car is so you don't have to drive the prom queen around...now your talking about getting another prom queen...what are you gonna drive then? That's a lot of detailing work and time spent maintaining two show quality cars...I like the maurader but get one that's in worse shape and cheaper. JMHO!

    :)

  5. WOW...you weren't kidding man this thing is badass!!! I would say F#$@ the Impala or Crown Vic and go for this bad boy! I wanna ride in that mother ****er for sure!! Buy it or I'll post pictures of the Volvo with your head sticking out the top!! :)

    LOL

I like it bro! DO IT DO IT DO IT!!

  6. the wing has so much down force that the truck is squating in the back just sitting there

Lol, dude that's classic, I didn't even think of that. This should be a poster child to the effects of downforce...you could call it residual downforce, carries over even when at a dead stop. You'd make millions.

  7. You forgot to add the part about her trying to convince us to take her all the way to Las Vegas instead of the nearest hospital/infirmary like we were trying to for the kids. She was trying to be nonchalant about the kids condition saying that they would be ok and all. That really got me going too.

"Even though I was being a complete moron for the way I was driving with kids in the car and you guys were nice enough to stop, call for help, wait for them to arrive, when they didn't arrive you took us with you and went out of your way to find a hospital, and when you saw an ambulance you flagged them down for us...you think you could take us all the way to Las Vegas and maybe drop us off at our house? That would be great...thanks! Oh and don't worry about the kids, they are doing just fine, my kid has Asthma and ADD as it is so he's used to hospitals and I know he's ok."
