  1. anyone know someplace that can make placards for show vehicles, the one we used for work is out of business and i just freshly de-stickered/badged my truck and show season is just around the corner.
  2. ^thats not totally true, the ECM's on GM's can retard timing if there is detonation... but what's the point of running 87 octane, you get worse fuel eco and ur truck will be so mapped down you might as well be driving a 1500 with a V6.. a guy i work with has a TBSS and on 87 octane it runs like my gf's stock v6 Trailblazer.. it totally defeats the purpose
  3. My name is drew Background: I'm 21, i have a degree in music production(that took me places..lol), i minored in criminal justice also btw, I worked for a small contracting company when i was in college to get by, because i had class i would end up in the shop everyday wrenching on the 7.3's and cummins that were the service trucks then i made my way over to working on cummins in a dodge dealer we had in town... I returned to dallas after i graduated(i came into college with enough that i graduated early) and started looking for jobs in music, worked a bunch of dead end jobs and ended up working for a performance diesel company in Addison, they began to expand and now we have tuners and products from everything to mustang and big rigs.. I ride dirt bikes(when it's warm) and I also have a bright green 07 ninja zx6 that gets me from point a to point b in a hurry, and if there are any girls around from point a to point b on one wheel haha my Ride: my truck began it's life as an 04 4.8l ls(a turd that got ok mpg)... my company was looking for something different as far as a truck for shows, my idea was a smaller displacement truck doesn't necessarily have to put up big numbers on the dyno to put up some nice ones on the track.. I've pretty well decided that i hate chrome so the truck has an SS bumper cover and a custom roll pan, 22" rockstars and painted grill shell... our company is famous for having eye catching trucks at SEMA and just aout every big show we go to, we've even had an SS with a duramax transplant(dubbed SSD), an H3 with a duramax and dodge 4wd 2500's slammed to the bump stops on 24's.. right now it's all show no go(i have to take it to shows to get sponsorship money).. as of march it's getting some "beta test" products that i'm hoping will help her pick up a lot in the 1/4, or who knows i may buy an LB7 and drop that huffer in there. I know i don't drive an SS but honestly I like this forum b/c you guys know ur Sh*t pretty well whereas most of the others are just there to whore out some companies products, and if you even talk about one of the competitors or try to support your own you're banned ... I should be a writer.. or learn to keep things short
  4. how much you looking to sell ur 250f for, i need a beater bike and my 125 is about to get it's engine transplanted into a shifter cart.
  5. I got black 22 KMC's b/c i HATE chrome... they soo easy to make them look nice.. you dont really have to shine them... for some reason black just looks good on chevies. another option you got is the bronze wheels, thats totally different and you wont see anyone rolling those, i almost got my rims in bronze but with arrival blue it would look like a baby huey WRX lol
  6. dude it's not your lower legs, it's ur knees, grip with your knees, around your heels you got swingarm.. thats a moving part.. not good, there is more stregth/ leverage there plus you should be on your toes on the pegs anyway. figure out what the attack position is almost every mx teacher uses that expression cant really describe you gotta see it. dont be scared of wrecking either, it just happens, and the biggest one is always ahead of you.. look ahead no matter what, stuff likes to reach up and bite you if you dont pay attention. my tip, invest in a good helmet, with those you get what you pay for... folding levers are good investments my asv's have outlasted 2 dirt bikes(about to be 3)... and the best piece of advice anyone can give you is dress for the crash not the ride dont matter if it's 106 degrees outside, you better be wearing a helmet and all your gear. PS: dont miss your starting gate cuz u were staring at a red bull girl... that happened to me at cooperland last year during vet nationals
  7. the under lighting... that would be right up there too... that is actually illegal here, and thats is a little funny to me i'm not saying it looks bad, it's definately overused and for just aesthetics it's overpriced. if the fast and the furious wouldnt have came out it wouldnt be so cliche...
  8. good luck with the trans on one of those monesters, 3 grand for a halfway decent built billit one... when i worked at a chrysler dealership we replaced those and the and Cummins trannies pretty regularly... 48RE's=poop. they need to throw the 68RFE's in there so atleast if you break it you have alittle fun in the process playing with the paddle shifters and you get an extra gear to break
  9. if only edge had the A2 working for more than 2 weeks in a truck and not freezing, and it were available for gas apps, and the backup cameras didnt take a crap in the rain... i can only dream .. o well.. the dashhawk is just a dressed up attitude, my customers that sell edge/msd say that they dont work for very long if they even work... i dont really think the pillar mounts(that dont actually mount to the pillar) they have for those look all that nice.. the scan guage is pretty sweet i saw it at sema, kind of simple display, but hey it's simple engine diagnostics
  10. you might as well put an escalade front clip on there while you're at it, or even a big Vtec or Type R badge on your tailgate, chameleon paint, and we cant forget the big fart can muffler back exhaust is right
  11. my buddy has one thats supercharged, this really cool header-back exhaust, and some internal mods not sure what else, i think after the supercharger his wife made him stop spending money on the car.. he actually debated on spending money on her wedding band or investing in a twin turbo setup.. it's pretty insane what that little turd of a car can do... i had to convince him to race my bike(i know it's not a fair race) i was inpressed he was able to stick with me til i set the front wheel down and stopped playing... he told me held his own against a roush mustang the other day, i believe him now
  12. Since all of my gauges are in the overhead and my phone has GPS, i fabbed up a pillar mount out of one of the write-off pillar pods at work... i've had a few people ask me at shows where i got it or if i could make one for them... I've done a few for dodges already, but I just wanted to see if any of you guys were interested before i started getting prices on materials this one was one for a truck with a bose sytem, I havent painted it yet, the customer who returned the pod didnt do such a good job of matching paint, it looks ok til you stare at it for hours on end and notice the shades are different... i just used the speaker hole to rum a power supply for my phone, or when i had my ipod there my fast connect. I have a white cradle with velcro that i usually put up there, the place where i got it went out of business which really sucks because i could have just attached that thing in there and saved everyone the trouble.. i'm trying to find something similar though
  13. sorry i couldnt make it guys... i'm freezing my butt off in austin... about to go to 6th street... wish i could have been there but decided i wanted to get away for a few days
  14. i put them on Gm-trucks also, the pics are much bigger... here's the link http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73342
  15. eventually I want to put in a multi channel amp, but nothing big, i was thinking between 450-600watts... just something to help the system be a little louder than my exhaust drone.. lol... i was looking at some options, there are car audio power cells, basically small batteries for car audio... how reliable are those??
  16. i'm not pushing a lot, but I started noticing my lights starting to dim the other night on the way home from work... In past vehicles i've always used caps, but a lot of the guys at work are telling me a second battery is the way to go, I'm just wondering how practical that would be with my system, it's only a 300 watt mono amp right now, I'm running a yellow top battery right now
  17. good luck, they dont sound very good, and my buddy that retails their stuff says 90% come DOA.
  18. any chance i can drop mine by or have a friend drop them off, I work with a bunch of guys in royse city and rockwall who drive through wylie almost every day
  19. her ya go... freshly cleaned and all, I still have all ofg the original hardware but i used my own to mount them... I dont have the instructions though, but i can write up a step by step if you need them, it's really simple I have a ton more, and they're all pretty high quality and much much larger, i can e-mail them if you want, sorry about the size, wasnt sure the amount of space allowed for pics in posts
  20. I vote yes... i think i've seen some pretty convincing stuff -when i was a kid we moved into a brand new house that was built on top of a cow pasture that had a house where the family was killed in it on the property... we came home from school one day and just about all the furniture in my parents room was on one side of the room... and no one was there the entire time we were at school. -I dated a girl at UNT who had a room in clark hall, and supposedly there was a girl who had hung herself in one of the rooms on this floor on that hall... i woke up one night and saw someone sitting in the chair at the desk, looked over and my girl was passed the f*** out... that was really really creepy.
  21. if you go with a duramax you got 3 choices in engines if you dont want to dick with particulate systems, all three will run straight piped with a few mods.. usually when they do throw a check engine after you remove the cat or muffler it's an EGR... GM has a recall for that.. the new engine, the LMM, yeah... dont mess with that.. it's a turd and has too many ghosts to chase in the electronics.. DPF, EGR.. they both suck on it.. here's some info on the 3 worth some thought... I kind of have to work with them on a daily basis so i thought i'd share some insight/ experiences LB7 (01- early 04) these are the trucks you see blowin coal... they usually own the dyno, but have a few quirks... injectors are underneath the head and go out pretty easily... but i will tell you this, they love nitrous and propane use both at your own risk though.. these are really cheap to get to 500+ rwhp while getting 20+ mpg LLY (04.5-early 06) Found in current kodiaks and topkicks... great for building tourque, but a pain to get decent fuel pressure in... it's even a pain to change the fuel filter.. get ready to shell out some money for a FASS pump... generally dont show big numbers on the dyno, but put up some respectable ones on the 1/4 LBZ (06.5-early 07) these are closely based off the lb7 and takes the same flashes from GM, the only problem i have seen with this engine is if you want to put up decent numbers you're going to have to either do an EGR bypass or blocker... The big guys at DHRA can get 12 second 1/4's out of these... drive one with a good tune and you'll see why.
  22. i'll be there, but my truck will be in pieces, getting my roll pan and BC repainted.. lol.. i'll show up with something though... it may not be pretty anymore but it'll get me there
  23. it's no problem... where are you at in Idaho? i have a few contacts at GM dealers up there that might be able to get a pcm back to sqaure 1 for you.
