  1. Just bought my 3rd set of parking lower housings. This one from GM Direct. One of them got a few drops on first car wash. These were not cheap. OEM. I took it out and put a new load of black silicone around lens and used a good dose of duct tape around where the lamps plug in. It and the other one have been OK so far. Original set worked with no leaks for years and finally started to fog and get hazy on the lens. I bought two sets on eBay and first one lasted several years. Second set not so good. It don't make shit whether the corners are clear or amber as far as I can tell. They will all leak. Oh and I put some silicone on the lamp sockets. Never have been able to tell for sure where it gets in at but it seems like the duct tape and silicone around the lamp sockets helps. On the bright side my headlamps have never leaked or hazed up. One of them has just started to get a little haze at the very top.
  2. Hello, I bought my clips at O'Reillys. Seems like one was red and one blue in same package. No problems.
  3. I've had a Pace Edwards on my 03 since brand new. Never any problems and still looks good. http://paceedwardsdirect.com/?gclid=CNqwk7OUoNICFde6wAodKFcKig I had the solid fiberglass cover on my 90 SS and really didn't care for it because I had to come home and remove it to haul some things. It looked great though.
  4. Mine was stepper motor. First time I've had any gauge problem.
  5. You probably found it but the water pump # is ACDELCO-251-743, thermostat # is ACDELCO-1511057. I also did the whole hose and belt thing along with the pump.
  6. Thanks for the replies. For some reason I thought that you could not get OEM housings for these trucks. I checked sponsor on here, GM Parts Direct and they have them so I'm going to order from them. Not that much higher than some on ebay.
  7. Hello All, Has anyone found any headlight / parking light replacement housings that either don't leak or fog up ? My headlights have held up pretty well, but I'm on my third set of parking/signal housings. OEM set lasted several years and second set from Ebay one started leaking. I managed to air it out and put duct tape around the wire plug ins. I figured out water was blowing in from drive through car wash. Right when you drive in water blows up to clean under carriage. They lasted about two years. I recently bought another set off of Ebay and one of them got a lot of water in it. Bought a seven buck tube of silicone and stopped most of it. It was coming in by side marker light. Sadly the SS models aren't the only Chevy/ GMC trucks with this problem. Thanks for any ideas.
  8. My water pump has been leaking off and on the last few weeks. I'm going to replace it along with belts and hoses. I'm needing a little advice on this heater hose conglomeration. It looks like I need to buy the assembly that is all put together with couplers that go to the heater core and tank. The other hose looks like old school with clamps. Is their a tool to unscrew these connectors or do they unscrew? I also saw that you could maybe build these setups by buying the connectors separate. I have noticed the built piece OEM can run as high as 50 to 70 bucks. Any other tips on this project would be appreciated as well. Thanks
  9. Most likely the battery. If you have a voltmeter check battery posts while running and see if their is 13 to 14 volts dc. If so the alternator is putting out. If you don't have a load tester go to an Autozone or Pepboys or some place that does and have them check the battery. Probably a cell out or going out.
  10. Maybe this one http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=11044
  11. JC, do you have the part number on that magnaflow? If not I can look it up. I did look on ebay the had the flowmonster race mufflers on there.
  12. Thanks for the replies. I am wanting a replacement muffler that will put out some loud. I have a stock exhaust and would like to keep my pipe and tip past the muffler. I searched and saw the threads about this one. It seemed pretty good as it has the dual inlet and outlet and would be easier to install. Even though it's not the exact same diameter. The magnaflow came up also as a replacement.
  13. Anyone know if this company is still in business ? I have tried to order a muffler off of their website with no luck. Phone just goes to voicemail.
  14. Lovin my pace-edwards. Hard to beat the quality. http://www.pace-edwards.com/Roll-Top-Cover
  15. Wow, great pics, thanks for posting em up.
  16. I like it. Is that a little bit of rake? The second pic looks like rear is higher. What kit or whatever did you use?
  17. For sure chameleon paint. Which I like. Don't care for the chrome on SS, but it's a personal choice.
  18. I've never seen a Silver SSS in real life.Only red, blue and black.
  19. I have a 2003 and AWD. The only option. I really could do without it though. But I had to have the truck. If I had my pick now I would love to have a 2WD ISS.
  20. Sounds good, looks good. Perfect drop IMO.
  21. Talk about needing some slammin. Gonna need a 8 front and 10 rear at least.
  22. Great pics. Thanks for posting. You Da Man
