  1. Wow! Looks like a nice turnout. I will do my best to be there as well but not for the entire day. I will most likely bring the wife and kids for lunch.
  2. I use spring clamps at the strip. I just got some flat stock and drilled holes and used 2 long bolts to clamp them together. Believe it or not, there was a difference for me in an AWD truck. It basically pre-loaded the springs so my front doesn't pull up as much on a launch. With Cal-tracs, I wouldn't bother with the clamps. FWIW, my buddy has a very modded Duramax and if he doesn't clamp, he bucks so bad he has to let out of it a bit to gain control. He runs a 12.3 in a CC Duramax with 35s.

    Subaru STI Kill

IMO the STI is all launch. Back when I was running a 13.3, I ran a modestly modded STI (exhaust CAI, tuning etc) and would actually run him down in the top end in my heavy ass AWD truck. With the cars being light and AWD, a nice boosted launch does wonders for their 1/4 time. Kind of like the Sy / Ty's. Glad to hear that the guy was cool about the kill. It is hard to come by...
  4. Yes. the 42#rs plus meth.
  5. There have been times my wife would have though that though... I picked up some stainless fittings yesterday at the plumbing store. HD and Lowes doesn't carry them.
  6. I have a flush mounted gas fired fireplace with the however did not finish it off yet. I plan to stone the area around the frame, add a barn beam mantle (have a 200 y/o beam in my shed) and stone the non exsistant flume up the entire side of my 2 story family room. Its just a money issue right now but that is my plans. The fireplace is mostly for decoration. I was going to do a plasma TV over it as well but in my case, it was too modern. I have more of a country colonial so the stone fits better. I am going to be building my deck this year and plan on tapping into my propane tank for my built in gas grill on the deck. Can't wait!
  7. I only have some strait 3" and one 45* 4" but here is my favorite supplier: Mandrel Bends Check E-bay as well...
  8. Cancelled my order. It will take 6 weeks and the price is WAY too high. These things are EXPENSIVE but the lightest I have seen. Can't justify $2500 for 4 wheels and tires just for the track Bogart racing wheels Link to BRW
  9. I really like that! If you don't mind me asking what did the whole package run you.
  10. Thanks for the reply. If I have to go out and buy silver solder and flux, I may as well pick up some stainless fitting at lunch today instead.
  11. Anyone have any experience on welding brass to Stainless? Can it be done using a MIG? I haven't tried yet but want to see if it is even possible. The weld doesn't need to be the strongest but enough to hold fast. I am doing another intake for my SS and do not want to wait for some SS fittings I want to get this thing powdercoated and on the truck by Saturday.
  12. Nice work! It always feels good to hit a goal.

    3 Kills one Road

...Should have bet him a tank of gas.
  14. Yea, he does a great job as well. They are starting to do it with the E-mail scammers now. Got to love it!
  15. I agree with the tranny mods however, I had a STOCK transmission with the Radix for a while and it did fine. I think I may have had a freek 65E but I removed all TM, increased the LP and shifted at 6200, 6100. I don't suggest shifting that high unless you have a cam that makes power over that RPM. My powerband extends to 6400 and then drops like a rock. It is an insurance policy.
  16. Good estimate. Keep in mind this is N/A with a nice cam,... a propper stall is ESSENTIAL.
  17. I have seen just the rims go for 800. ...I sold my powdercoated ones for $700 with the tires. Ask what you wish, price is determined by what someone will pay for them..
  18. Yea, my bet is the cats came apart. At one time I actually shot pieces of the cat material out the tailpipe.

    "edit" button

That is fine however, I have had posts that I wish to edit that have been posted for a year or more. I have NO access to the EDIT button. Case in point: My post on "Crank Shaft Pulley Pinning" in the How-2 section is all messed up for some reason. The pictures were in order within the post and now they are all at the bottom of the post which really confuses the purpose of a "How-2". I just want to insert the pictures in the post where needed. How can I accomplish this?
  20. I'd offer lower. The worst they can say is no. FWIW, A mark-up of 1K is almost unheard of.
  21. Well, here is my response... Some of you may recall that I wanted to do 13's on all motor, I did that (albeit a PITA for me) and soon wanted to do 12's. I had a feeling about this so when I installed my cam, I thought ahead and did a complimentary package that would assist me in the goal with a blower. I thought about the options and the Radix won out due to its HUGE knowledge base and believe it or not,...its limitations. I had no intrest of doing forged internals to handle 10+psi so the max output of the Radix on a 6.0L was real enticing. Besides, I liked the way it looked and the low end grunt with the AWD is killer on the street. The reliability is top notch as well. Well, I did hit the 12's but it just didn't "feel" as impressive to me and I soon wanted more. I thought about selling the radix and doing a mild 408 with a 100 shot but soon chose to see what the radix can do. Everyone says it "runs into a brick wall in the mid 12's" but I don't feel the same. Take Holty, he has the stock cam and still rips a 12.5. There is another guy that lives by me that also runs a very low 12 (I see you lurking Mach!) Granted, you can make more power on a smaller displacement motor but sacrifice TQ. I personally want the gobs of TQ with AWD since I didn't want a drag truck, just a surprising street truck. The Radix can take you there but it will be alot of hard work and innovation. I have some custom one-off pieces that I have learned work or do not work on the dyno. I like to share my findings with the group as this is a great hobby. Now that I touched the 11's, I really want more (its a sickness ). I have secured some funding and may do something a little sick Haven't made up my mind yet but if I do, the radix will not be part of the combo. Chase, BTW, I went to the track after work 2 weeks ago and layed down a 12.000 with my heavy Konig 20's, a DA over 1000 and at a less than desireable track. I will do some tweeks over the summer and land a 11.75 in the fall at 5500lbs. It can be done. Now get to that truck and bust out some 10's!
  22. IMHO, your quote isn't all that bad. Do you have all of the tools/supplies needed for the install (TQ wrenches etc)? If not, you could add the cost of "buying/renting" them into the equation. If the shop stands behind their work, that is a big seller.
