  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the brake ducts at least are plastic and wouldn't work to powdercoat because of the heat... not sure though what kind of paint to use.
  2. Like 03silv.ss said, something about an update.. I updated something, not sure if my Autocal or what but when it was plugged into my computer, does that mean I have to remove the files, and then copy them back onto there or something? I towed with it just fine, only like 40-45 degrees and going 60, load pulled like a parachute but pretty light.. and temps didn't go past 180 like they have before pulling lighter stuff...
  3. need a shift kit and corvetter servo, where do I get them?

Thanks! I'll check them out. Was already thinking Summit but not sure..

  4. I did remove the spacer, and still cut one nub off so I can pull a trailer too without it always bottoming out. Wish I could do a 2/4 drop and still tow but I think that's out of the question without a c-notch, or maybe mounting my bags inside the frame instead of outside on top the leaf springs.
  5. When I try to load a new tune, an error code pops up, $050 or something like that. These are pretty new and haven't heard of many problems. Anybody know what might be the issue? I'm leaving with a small load at 4 in the morning and would like to use my slightly milder tune... Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
  6. Just ordered the stuff for $120, can't wait to have a CD player in my truck! Me and my friend just dug deeper into his truck.. previous owner led new wires to the speakers and left a huge mess at the stereo, sure gonna be a project getting it all fixed!
  7. Alright I'll drill them out and put them back in sometime.. putting back-up bags in the rear hopefully this weekend and maybe taking my load leaf out.. not sure.
  8. Yeah pretty much.. haha don't want to go buy useless upgrades, although maybe in a year a mild cam and heads, but first get max out of pretty much stock set-up! Are duramaxes like this too? I have actually seen it done on a Cummins before so not sure if the process is just as simple or more complicated.. I'm always scared of the manifold being too warped to put back on, but maybe it's not as bad as I think.
  9. I love that idea!! That's next on my list.. lol I'd like to get my truck fast with the simplest parts, and shock people I do prefer work over money quite often..
  10. Another place quoted me $65 for just the cheap adapter.. Don't like this either. What really turns me off now is that my buddy got a truck with bose and aftermarket stereo, and it is a terrible mess of wiring! even a few spliced open, not even covered with tape! I want the same set-up as I got quoted for $126, just curious if I can get the parts cheaper online.
  11. I like the torque converter idea, already have the tune, gutted cats, and plan on shift kit & servo... What's involved in port matching the manifolds? Another idea that idk if helps much.. Drop-in K&N filter, cut a portion out of the front bottom half of the air box.
  12. General Grabber UHPs... not sure, but wouldn't be surprised if they were Z rated. I do have pretty bad roads out here and always try to dodge the bumps lol but still seems quite rough usually, rougher than it should I think but maybe it's normal.
  13. Yeah, but the first post says 295-50-20, to me it sounded like he was explaining the difference of 295-45-20 vs stock 275-55-20 ...?
  14. I haven't really looked into it because I still don't have the money, probably Billsteins though.
  15. We should just get somewhat of a Dallas meet together already lol I'm only 2 hours from there and have been heading there quite often lately. I haven't had much experience with shocks helping the ride much, but I sure hope they'll help my truck once I get around to replacing them...
  16. I was quoted $126.** at a shop in town for the bose adapter, radio adapter, and the installation kit.. Everything to hook it up good. Is this a good deal or can you tell me of something cheaper? I'm really short on money, but I also want a clean set-up or I'll live without a CD player for longer yet...
  17. That's a good explanation, but what are you comparing the 295/50/20 to? stock tires? I thought they were near dead even to stock size, the 295/45/20, like I have, is just a tad smaller, and a bit wider. Correct me if I'm wrong, just not quite making sense of this.
  18. I've got 295-45-20s on my truck.. about a 2 inch shackle drop, along with bump stops slightly cut so it won't bottom out as easy, and my front bump stops removed. What tire pressure is everyone running? (not even sure what mine is) Will new shocks help me to not ride as rough? Or is this just the ride quality of a lowered truck? Seems like most 2500s ride smother than my truck
  19. Mine were already touching at stock height somewhat if I remember correctly. I took mine out and crank it down a bit in the front. I'm thinking about maybe cutting them, or drilling holes in them like I've heard and put them back on. Bottomed them out slightly maybe 3 or 4 times in about 4,000 miles so not too bad. You could also measure from the ground to the top of your fender well and then check with someone else with same tire size and stock height to see how much if any your truck had been dropped.
  20. Me and a couple of friends went snowboarding in Ruidoso, NM last year, lots of fun! We were going to do it again this year but not sure if we'll get enough guys together again... Any other ideas? Anybody else doing something special besides possibly enjoying the time off as vacation?
  21. Dang that sucks! I guess I'll have to start watching it a bit more when I'm in Dallas area, been around there quite a few weekends lately. Always somewhat scared though because I hear of so many SSSs getting stolen...
  22. Yeah those diesels can do that with just simply a programmer.. I ran a 9.37 with my AWD with Wheatley tune and I've also considered doing away with AWD. I'm sure in the 1/8th you won't gain much because of traction issues is my guess, but in the 1/4 you should do somewhat better. I really don't know what kind of issues two wheel drives have, but I think with a good tune and torque management off, it should roast them pretty easily.
  23. I've loved mine so far.. just seeming a little slow lately.. almost 11 months old now.
  24. It's a more complicated process than you think.. You can't just pull the drive shaft because of the transfer case, unless you swap to a 4wd transfer case. And the biggest thing will be if you loose the weight, not just simply disable it because then you loose traction much easier.
  25. I second that! Here's mine with a very slight drop, not sure how much, maybe an inch in the front and just with the weight of a trailer in the back after about a 2 inch drop.
