  1. you gotta select show all, because its just showing topics from this year.
  2. how new are the wheels? are they verde? i have 20" yukon 6 spokes with 275s and 17" stockers
  3. i dont know about awd, but i think you would have to have 2wd spindles, because when you take out your CVs, there will be nothing holding the wheel/hub to the spindle. this is true on a reg. 4x4 but like i said not too sure on awd.
  4. this is so much help its crazy, i am mechanically inclined, but trannys are kinda shady to me. i hope i will be getting it tuned same day, or should i wait and break it all in? since he advertises only 65es, this will bolt up same as a 70e right? just wondering since im not sure what t case these trucks have. now i just need to figure out which converter he uses.
  5. wow thank you for the info, im going to ride out there to talk to them and ill bring up all of this. does them blocking off all of the acc. pistoms take place of a shift kit? i still tow a little and want good street manners.
  6. ya real new, 33,000 miles on her. old man owned it before me and truck was stock.
  7. i hear you on the gm driveline issues and i have some slop also, but this is def. tranny related. i agree about the sunshells having play being bs because i've never heard of this. i just know that stock trannys are supposed to be quiet and mines not. the shift clunk is pretty bad, and if i slow down and coast, then get back on the throttle there is some pretty good slack then a clunk when it catches. talk about annoying. here is the link to the tranny. outlaw transmission let me know what you think.
  8. after talking to a few people a have decided i should better go ahead and bulk up the rest of the tranny when i fix the sunshell clunk. i live in georgia and talked to a guy at outlaw transmission. he was really helpful, but he reffered to my trans as the 65e. i figured if hes familiar with the 60 and 65 then he would be with the 4l70e also. he quoted me $1300 for their stage 2(500 hp) unit with a converter. does this price sound right or is that real low?
  9. ill pron do just shackles in the rear, but i have no clue what to order for the front because i cant figure out if its just the regular 4x4 front end or if the vmax has a different front suspension.
  10. im about ready to get some wheels and am trying to figure out options for lowering. i know its 4x4 but i want to be about 2 to 2.5 in down. i have already taken out the factory block and came down on the T bars a bit and got aligned. do we have the same suspension as the SS (z60)?? what are my options? do they make a drop Knuckle so i can put my t bars up to stock again? just curious on what some of you guys did as far as front and rear. thanks!
  11. on a carburated motor, i can see how something like that may help a bit with the atomization of air and fuel, but on newer MPI motors it just seems like anything causing turbulence in the intake track would hurt power. after all, we put on CAIs with the smooth tubes to reduce obstruction, so why would we put in a spacer with that "tornado" effectt? just my .02!
  12. no kidding! i love that look. honestly how much worse would the ride be with a 22" and a 305 tire than a 20" with a 255? i wish we could see some more pics with those wheels!
  13. i agree, do you just order the small gmc caps or the whole lug/hub cover? ill make sure to take pics.
  14. now the real decision...chrome or painted?????
  15. thanks guys, just wanted a second opinion, now i just need photoshop so i can check it out!
  16. anyone ever seen a nbs gmc with the SSS wheels? just wondering what it would look like.
  17. i would hope that when the dealer dropped the pan they would have used the dex6? the way i was told was that the gears are made of two different metals(steel and alum) and cause the slack? http://www.tripleedgeperformance.com/image...eb_pics_005.jpg the rings to the left are what im thinking.
  18. i hear you, i know for a fact that its not the leaf packs shifting, its the tranny. do you think the dex VI would help? i just want this sloppy feel to go away.
  19. i posted about this in the trans tech forum, but i was going to see if any of yall with the 4l70e have this issue too. i've got a 2006 vortec max with the 4l70e thats driving me crazy. i took it to the dealer initially to have a 1-2 and 2-3 shift clunk looked at. it also does it on decel. too. not so much a harsh shift but more audible "clunk". they replaced the valve body, 1-2 piston and springs under warranty. the 1-2 is great now but the 2-3 and 3-2 are killing me. i was told that the way the solar gear meshes together gives it a little slop. is there anything i can do to quiet this down? thanks guys! -will
  20. do you think a shift kit would just make it more noticeable or possibly take up some slack?
  21. ive heard about the drivetrain clunk and i also had my steering shaft replaced twice..i hate dealers. what makes me pretty sure its tranny is the clunk is dead on with just the 1-2 upshift and 2-3 downshift. i will check the yoke though. does anyone have a clue?
