  1. Get um fixed while you have someone that will spring for ½ the price. Mine acted up the other day all of a sudden, But it was when both were turned on, The both shut off shortly. But when I drive myself it's been fine here the last 3 days.. I did a search and seen it can get pricy to repair so jump on the 50/50 warranty while you can. Let us know the outcome.
  2. WOW. Unless he's a really good friend of yours and your just cutting him a deal. Or your just looking for a FAST sale I'd bet you can get closer to $900 and at that price it's still a fair price IMHO. Good Luck!
  3. We've go 6 "Smoke Alarms" in our home. They are hard wired w/ battery backup of course, and when 1 goes off they all go off.... How do I know........ We have a gas log fireplace (Ventless) and I don't know if it's just the odor of the "NEW" or the sudden heat from it, But we can rarely use it due to it sets off the alarms. If I open a window and and light the fireplace it finally "Gets used to it" I'll say.. after 3 or 4 alarm triggers. Any advise on something like this? But back on topic. Yes please keep them batteries changed. We'd hate to lose a fellow member or anyone of their family menbers.
  4. Happy Holidays to ALL Members, Visitors & their Familys!!
  5. I wish I had an honest answer for you. But I'm thinking most that upgrade to what your speaking of go with a larger much more expensive cooler. I can get the size compaired to stock tomorrow/today if you like. Like I mentioned, I never installed it so I have nothing to compair it with. Maybe someone will chime in with more info. I purchased a few items from SD619SS, He had this so I included it and was just going to install this with my stock set up but never got around to it. It's sat in the box since.
  6. Nobody? I know it's winter time and your trannys are cool if your even driving the trucks. How's $35.00 Shipped to the lower 48 states then.
  7. I was truck shopping when I seen the SSS on Auto Trader, Googled Silverado Super Sport & Found the site, Found a SSS in town at the Stealership. Marrage was made. If I remember right I joined the site the day I purchased the SSS.
  8. I bought this off of SD619SS a year and a half ago. It's still in the box it came in so I guess I don't have a need for it LOL. Flex a lite tranny cooler. (Tube and Fin) I'll sell it for what I gave for it. $35.00 + Ship What you see is what you get.
  9. Shhhhhhhhhhhh. I agree with you but the wife or daughter won't dare drive my truck so they don't really know what it's like. Daughter knows about them of course, But she get's flashed with her stock bulbs. (Acura RXS S). Besides I'd really hate to try and tuck ballists somewhere in that car. Hell they want you to pull the bumper cover off to change the headlamp. LOL I don't know how tucking in the 03 Grand Am would be. Hmmm.. Probably not a good idea now that I think about it, due to her lows are her DRL's I beleive. I've also haven't had to drive in a Foggy or Snowy situation. That might/could be a bad thing because most of us don't have Fog's. Either way. HID's Kick AZZ!!! I don't know how you went a year without them after having them already.. Glad your back to your HID's!
  10. I've had my share of dealing with them. Well the Service Writers. Some of them think they know it all because that's what the computer told them. Pffffffffffffffft. Wife's Grand Am has a drivers seat switch that raises and lowers the seat. Well it quit working and we were covered still. Service writer says. That's not a GM item. That has to be aftermarket. The mech. that supposedly looked at it agreed. So I stop by like you after work, Pull out the owners manual out of the glove box and find the picture of the exact switch and say, Pssssssssst.. does this look aftermarket now? She calls the Mech. over and he pokes around again and says, Hmmm could be factory.. They ordered the part and we got it fixed finally. I know they don't make nothing on warranty work and dread it. But that's what it's there for. As for a radio, I bought one from this site (Sale Section) for a friend at work. One dealer actually hooked it up to Tech II is it? But didn't know how to code it, So he took it to the other dealer (Sister Owned Dealer) and the kid there got it done for him. Charged him like $35.00 which he told me they charge more usually. I can keep going but I'm gonna shut up now. LOL Hate dealing with them folks!
  11. You don't need an "alternator" because the "supercharger" charges the battery very quickly, Hence "super"-"charger" Sorry, Had to do it. LOL
  12. The Kid is 4 years old for Christ sake. WTF they worried about? That he might cut a finger off with his plastic sissors because his hair got in his eyes? That hair isn't even long in my eyes. Sounds like that community is stuck in the 50's, or want's to be....(Sunday, Monday, HAPPY DAYS!!!) How DUMB!
  13. Damn. That really sucks to hear. I hate to hear about anybody losing a job in either good or bad economy. I hope you find something soon.
  14. Now that's paying attention! Good for you! Congrats
  15. Again with my 2/2 drop and the bracket on the rear bump stops removed. It was like stock. Since going lower I'm having to fine tune it.
  16. If you asking about the Belltech's. YES much softer. I had the small pancake urethane type when first lowered and I would BANG pretty hard on certain roads. Then I got the Belltechs and it wouldn't BANG but you could still fell a cushioned bump. It was a very noticable improvment. I'm still getting helper bags though. Guess I'm just to old LOL
  17. I know what your talking about. When I put my winter stock wheels and tires back on my front left rubbed as well. I don't think bump stops will correct that. Now this year's winter wheel & tire swap I don't have that issue due to the rotation. Last year the rears went up front and the outer edges were not as worn as the previous (more square) and it would rub at full crank like yours. This year it's back to the more outer worn edge tires are up front and I'm lowered with the torson bars and they don't rub at all. There is a fine line there if they are going to rub or not. Good luck.
  18. Welcome to the forum. The HID's are plug and play, Just need to tuck in the ballests somewhere which isn't hard. There is a write up in the "How To". There are 3 ppl selling kits in the for sale section atm. I love mine, I'll always have HID's now
  19. It's not uncommon at all. I think if you have 70K or under the dealer will replace the cluster for you. They are aware of it. The stepper motors go bad in the cluster so most ppl just go here and get a new motor or motors. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-02-03-04-...#ht_1794wt_1165 Here's a thread on it as well.. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...78&hl=servo Do a search. You'll probably find a "How To" on this also.
  20. When I had the shackle 2" rear drop. I trimmed 1 nub off the stops and didn't remove the brackets. On certain roads I could feel a hard ride on the back at times. So then I removed them brackets and bolted the stops to the frame and never felt the hard ride no more. But if yours are to short you shouldn't have a problem unless your hitting your tire with the fender lip? Now since installing the hangers (4" Drop) forget it. I'm like SSplaytoy, (Bottom out city) But since I got the softer belltech bumpstops (Part #4922 - Bump Stop Kit) it's make it a much better ride, But I'm going to put on some helper bags here shortly.
  21. I'll agree with the above for the $100.00 range... - H.I.D.'s (look in the forsale section). I absolutely love mine. - SS Bowtie - Cleaning supplys - A Porter Cable DA Polisher maybe? Good luck in your choice. Happy Holidays!
  22. Damn! Dude. That's horrable. What's odd is that none of the Air Bags Deployed. That's one flat SS. Not much info, Vid tells all. I sure hope nobody was hurt. Again. Sorry to see your SS in that conditon. There are a few SS's for sale on here. Good Luck!
  23. I don't know if those are a factory replacement or not but what caught my attention was your sig and the 2x2 drop. Are you bottoming out or something? When I had my 2x2 (same drop) I would at time feel a slight bottom out. But then I removed the brackets from the rear bumpstops and it rode like a champ. Have you removed them brackets? if not do so you'll be surprised. *Cheers*
  24. Looks, as stated, easier to get in and out of. One thing not mentioned so far. You can push deep snow out of your driveway LOL But seriously I lowered mine for looks. I didn't like the HUGE wheel well gaps. I went with a 2" spindle drop up front and shackles in the back. Drove fine but had a humming sound at about 50 mph. No vibrations. The front wasn't a bad stance but the rear was still to high so I got hangers, then lowered the torsion bars 1" and got the Belltech Street Shocks. Looked great but I'd bottom out over a bottle cap, so I went up 1 hole on the shackle and got some belltech rear bump stops. lots better but now it'll bottom out slightly on a 1" bump in the road. (I got helper bags on my christmas list) Oh and when I put my winter wheels on, I raised the front up 1/2" ans WOW what a nice difference that made in the driveablity. Each truck is different so it's something each one of us will have to fine tune to our liking. Lower that sucka
