Nice kill man, sucks you got pulled over by the cop though, at least he didn't give ya a ticket. Had a cocky guy in a Ford revin in front of me one night so I floored it around em and low and behold a cop was sitting there, 72mph in a 45 zone. He commented on how quick my truck was but still gave me the ticket lol.
There are two guys around here that have SSs, red one is stock and the black one has a S/C from what I've heard but never actually seen. Got to run the stock one once and pulled about a truck length or two on em. I really wanna run the S/C'ed though just to see how badly I lose.
Btw I think I may be the guy you're talking bout that ran the 13.8 with intake/exhaust although it was really 13.9 but whats a tenth? lol Bout to turn 20k on the odo and I gotta say the truck feels quicker now that its broke in more. Kinda excited to see what I run in the quarter now. Waitin for a friend to heal up from knee suregy and then we're gonna run for fun. His crew cab 4x4 5.3 vs my reg cab 5.7 lol

BTW, kinda wanna appologize, didnt mean to turn this into a pissing contest. I realize im a guest here, being that i dont have an SS or a chevy period, so im sorry if i stepped on anybodys toes. You guys all seem like cool people that have spent alot of time and money into your trucks, and i hope that the aftermarket for the tundras is half of what it is for you guys some day so that one day i can say i raced and smoked chase. lol

believe me my truck has enought to take care of any tundra on the road
and the 09's hemi that will be released this fall will give your Tundra a race.
id hope your truck that weighs less and has 40 more hp stock would be able to beat a lesser vehicle. but not for long.
Well im sure your hemi would kill any tundra on the street to date, and im not taking anything away from your truck. All thats available for us atm is headers, intake, and exhaust. As far as the 09 hemi's are concerned, theyre still not that comparable stock to stock. I read that the 09 single cab short bed hemi runs 6.3 sec 0-60 stock. A 5.7 single cab short bed tundra will do mid to high 5 second 0-60. I forget what the 09's where rated at in the 1/4 but it still wasnt close to the current tundras. I mean, even the titans which have 30-40 hp less can take a hemi.
However...the aftermarket is very kind to you guys...

only stock hemi's are out of your league.
yeah well it'd take a hell of a lot more than an intake/headers/exhaust for a hemi to beat a stock tundra. You'd need all that plus cams and a tuner, and thats just to beat a stock tundra.

Yeah thanks, man. I was sweatin bullets for a while, and it seemed like time stopped when the cop was walkin to my window, really glad nothing bad happened. I really kinda use the SS as THE truck to beat. No shame in losing, and even better to win. Hemi's and titans kinda dont cut it, and srt10's and L's are outta my league.

i never raced a tundra yet. dont the RC 2wd run low 14s?
we have a guy at tundra solutions that ran a 14 flat stock, and 13.8 with just an intake and exhaust. but you know how it goes, no 2 same trucks run the same. most stock rc 5.7 tundras run about 14.1-14.2 stock.

I work off of gale, next time your close to gale stop by at the sams club tire shop In industry that's were I work! You should of raced him on railroad street(that's on the other side of gale crossing the railroad) I hardly see cops on gale always on valley. Luck was on your side!
right on man, not to far from the house. Railroad is behind the IHOP and the jack in the box right? Yeah, i can only imagine the guy in the SS laughing his ass off that i got pulled over and the cop let him go.
I plan on lowering the back to level it out. they do have 4/6 drop kits, but theyre kinda outta my price range at the moment. but its in the plan. As far as not messin with a 5.7 stock, im pretty sure 85% of the trucks on this site would hand me my ass, so believe me, i was happy with the win.

Hey dude was this on valley blvd? What color was the sss? If you raced him on valley there are a lot of cops on this street man you have to watch out. I once ran a scion on valley and was pulling when we zoom by a cop that was riding in a unmarked crown Vic. The good thing he was flagged down by a hit'n run accident. I was lucky, but now I don't even speed on valley.
Not too far from valley, i got busted on gale. The 60 fwy was closed east bound so i took a side street. He was all black, tinted windows, and a pretty bad ass exhaust. just all aound sweet looking truck.

Got stuck at a train next to an SS, as soon as the arms went up, he guns it. About 1/2 a mile later we get stuck at a red light, so i know he wanted to play. At the green we take off and its pretty even til about 30 then i started pulling on him, by 45-50 i had 2 lengths on him. Next thing I know I see a car in the opposite lane bust a U turn and I hear the SS take his foot off the gas( he had an exhaust), so i do the same. We drop to about 30mph and i look up and the car that busted the U turn was a cop, right behind me, lights flashing. The SS keeps driving off and i got pulled over. The cop ended up being cool, letting me off with a warning, that is, after telling me that he could have impounded my car, arrested me, and on and on with the could of's. I dont think i went past 30mph the rest of the way home.

got it for $26,500. I was 7g upside down, and it was going for 28,000. 2,300 down payment and 3,000 in rebates, plus being neighbors to the sales manager of toyota in torrance helps out too. He hooked me up. could had it for lots cheaper, but i was too upside down.

i ran a tundra a while back in the morning on the way to work , i dont know if he was trying though. i see alot of scsb with the big motor wish gm would do something similar.
really? My truck is the only one ive seen of its kind (5.7 rcsb) besides on the internet. Yeah, a reg cab short bed with the vortex max engine would be sick. How do you think id do stock vs stock against an SS?

lol well id meet up just to see chase's truck, sweet looking truck. Dunno if id ever squeeze in this truck, maybe when TRD gets off there ass and come out w/ the blower ill look into it. still saving for my headers and Intake. I wouldnt need a 300 shot if you gave me 10 lengths, lol.

cool well im the only rcsb 5.7 tundra in the area, actually, im the only rcsb 5.7 that ive seen period... anyways, its dark grey, tinted windows, and a social distortion sticker on the back. As far as seein you around, black silverado with tinted windows and flowmasters? lol there's about 1,000 of you in la puente. jk

cool cool, i gotta buddy out that way, i'll have to message ya next time im out there, he's a cop for riverside pd, so I doubt we gotta worry about gettin busted. what are you running now? I didnt realize how much of an aftermarket you guys have. Some of your guys signitures look just flat out mean. By the way, totally love the way 03-06 SS's look. esp the black ones. IMO one of the best looking trucks out there.

Really curious as to how my RCSB 5.7 tundra would do against one of you guys. Seems like most of you guys are in the 13's. I hear alot of people say you cant compete with L's or srt10's, but sounds like your up there, and by far one of the better looking trucks around. How do you think my tundra would do stock for stock against an SS?
