    My Mule Project

Any progress? This could be one of my favorite builds due to the amount of detail that has been put into the write up. I'd love to know more about this... Keep up the good work Zippy

  7. Agreed. got my stuff very fast and for a good price
  8. Might sell mine for the right price. Black 05 with 94k highway miles.... mods in my sig ha nice to see all of us KS foke coming out of the wood work lol
  9. Last i checked these trucks aren't considered to be or meant to be off road vehicles... Not sure if anyone saw the promo video for the SSS back in 03 or 04 but there was no mud, dirt, or rocks. To say a "truck is a truck" so it should be treated as such is just plain wrong. Not saying you cant haul your bikes or atv's or even pull a trailer, thats cool with me but leave the truck in the parking lot and use the toys in mud. Happy motoring everybody! lol
  10. Agreed... this is why this site is great. No SS was a good sport about being questioned about his statement. He then at least had some sort of info to show for his statement and then zippy chimed in with some very good experience and stats. This is how a discussion works folks. Take notes. Sometimes "discussions" turn into pissin matches.
  11. Damn this whole deal sucks man... hope you get your health all straightened out ha and yeah i'd prolly be more stressed about my truck as well
  12. Where does someone draw the line between a new motor and rebuilding your current one? As in a mileage line
  13. http://www.SilveradoSS.com/forums/topic/71982-lowering-4in-question/page__hl__djm+drop+kit ha yeahhhhh real expert here lol
  14. A C-notch is not required but if you have really shitty roads you may decide you want to notch it even after installing the thin bump stops. I know that a C notch is on my to do list.
  15. Same thing here too... i just heated the crossmember a little and "massaged" it to where it wouldn't touch
  16. I was considering doing this too till i found out my tie rod was fine. But another route to go would be to upgrade to Chromoly parts. Not exactly sure what the name of the company for everything was but i know FFR fabrication makes chromoly heim joint tie rods. (see Chase's build) Very expensive but good stuff none the less. Moog makes good stuff if chromoly is out of the budget.
  17. i bet he means silver birch metallic Welcome to the site!
  18. One of my buddies just rebuilt his 700r4 and has ran into a few issues. Thought i could get some insight from members on here. I'm reposting his post from another site: After rebuilding my transmission, using a tci pro super rebuild kit (1985 700r4 by the way) i seem to be running into some issues. I have the transmissions on a dyno right now, so i have not put it back in the car yet. The only electronics on the trans are for torque converter lockup. I having a "second gear start", and the trans will not downshift or upshift. The only way to get another gear is to shift down to manual Lo. I do have reverse. on top of that, Line pressure is about 115 psi in second gear, and 145-160 in manual Lo and reverse, all at about 800 rpm. lastly (for the problems) I have no pressure going to my pressure taps, for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear pressures. Before reinstalling the checkballs which were removed for the shift kit (i was having the same basic issues so i returned the transmission to factory style for diagnosing purposes) I had the same issues, but i DID get 2nd gear pressure at about 780rpm, which is weird because 2nd gear would not slip at all at 700 rpm when 2nd gear pressure was at 0. It is not slipping in any gear, and all the checkballs are in the right place ( I am not sure about checkball #8, which is not located anywhere in the diagrams i have seen) I know i have everything torqued correctly and the gaskets are in the right place. I do have great fluid flow with no bubbles or irregularities. If anybody has any ideas, or if you can point me in the right direction, let me know. I have had this thing on and off the dyno about 4 times now, and I am getting quite frustrated. I have attached the fluid diagrams which include manual 1st and 1st in drive (because i only get manual first and not 1st in drive). Here is the link for diagrams... http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/transmissions-drivetrain/634918-after-rebuild-i-only.html
