  1. not sure about AK but in IL its .04 no matter if your in a rig or in your dd. I have a class A and the only reason i got it was cuz i was in the union and the company i was working for was a crane company and you NEEDED it and they paid for everything. They made it very hard to say no to gettin the CDL cuz they needed someone with one really bad so they made it nice and easy for me. Im not sure what you do for a living chase but it might be worth it and it might not, i mean really how much more job responsibility would you have if you had it? Plus if you have a class A and god forbid you end up losing your job, class A drivers are needed EVERYWHERE..... just a thought. I mean when i get laid off from the union in the winter i drive a miller beer delivery truck.
  2. best wishes to a fast and safe recovery, sorry to hear about your loss

  8. Hey all, Most of you might not know me on here i havent been on much lately. Unfortunately like many of you the economy has taken work away from some of us. Now im turning to you folks for some help. I am a union heavy equipment operator for Local 150 in the chicago, indiana, and iowa area. I was laid off last year the weekend before thanksgiving. In my time off i have been busy trying to take advantage of a bad situation. I have typed up and compiled research and business plans for many of business ventures i have been interested in taking on. After the research and business plans were complete i weeded out ones that no longer seemed to be exciting to me. I finally found one that i am good at and that i enjoy. I am proud to say i have incorperated my own demolition company titled Windy City Demolition Inc. and am looking for jobs. I am now in the works of taking advantage of any potential advertising oppertunities and this is where i turn to you guys. I view this forum and the people that partake in it as an extended family because of the love we share for a single truck. I would appreciate any and all job referrals from you guys as well as if you have a job you yourself might need done. A few areas of demolition i cover are concrete/asphalt removal, residential/commercial structural demolition, selective demolition, complete interior tear out and much more. If you have any questions or can help in any way i would greatly appreciate it. I do offer a "finders fee" for the instance that you should refer a job to me that i end up doing that job. Again i know this might look like a desperate move posting this on here, but i have big dreams for the direction of this company. At this point i would like to say again i appreciate any help. Thank you all. Chris Contact Information Windy City Demolition 847-682-5889 [email protected]
  9. I just watched a show on the history channel about the fast food titans, and Wendy's already has a call center for taking your order. your not talking to someone in the store when your talking to the speaker.

  14. Any one know of any dealers or deals on a pair of McGauhey 2" drop spindles? Im getting belltech 3" drop leafs for the rear and i heard that the McGauhey's are the way to go for the front. Im just havin a hard time finding a good deal on them, or even finding them at all.... stylintrucks.com from what i could tell only had the 2wd versions, and summit only sold them in a kit, i just need the front spindles.... any help would be awsome.
  15. i have wanted a CTS-V since GM put it in its line.... but the whole reason the T/A was called a "Firehawk" is because that was a variation of the "Firebird"... there is no "bird" in "G8". I like the idea behind the car, i like the looks of the car, just name it something else.... besides didnt pontiac get the cabash? and didnt gm close the doors on the High Performance Vehicle division? i thought the only thing that was gonna live was the camaro and the corvette? where is this car coming from?
  16. one application that has a 90mm tb is the member BigCountry's truck but he has a TVS.... is that the only reason he has a 90mm tb is because of the blower?
  17. ok now i have a question that has been on my mind forever.... Since i have started researching lowing my truck(about 3 months) i have figured a few things out as far as what i want out of a kit. I have settled on a 2/4 kit, but i still dont know what brand i am gonna go with(still researching the best options for different components). The one thing i am curious about is that i know im gonna have to lower the front with a 2/4 drop to even out the truck but does cranking on the torsion settings affect the integrity of the front suspension at all? it doesnt weaken or soften the ride? It just seems that something that is so easy to change the stock ride height would potentially put stress on other suspension components to make up for this "surgery". Thanks to anyone who helps clear this up for me.
  18. i dunno about that story, but when i was in high school i worked in an auto shop after school and i remember a customer came in with a new(at the time) chevy sedan, i dont remember what model. She claimed to have just bought it and something was wrong with the gas indicator, she said it was registering wrong and it was saying she was burning less gas than she thought she was. We checked it out and couldnt find anything wrong with it and we checked to see how much gas was in it and it was full! we asked the customer if she just filled up and she said she bought the car a week ago and didnt fill it up since. We called the dealer she bought it from and they said they were gonna call us back. Instead GM headquarters called and said to not release the car to the customer, and that THEY would be buying the car back from her and that THEY would be picking it up. Sure enough they came with another NEW sedan for her, and paid her for her troubles and picked up the car on the flatbed and left.... now i had a friend that worked as a service writer at the dealer where she bought it and i guess from what he said, the car had "TEST" engine components, and thats all GM told the dealer. Weather or not what he told me is bs, i dont know but i am for sure 100% positive on what i did see and hear with my own eyes and ears from my boss.
