  1. no, just ice ,I had 5 more degrees of timing to but in her but track shut me down ps I still did not spray any nitrous yet :peelout:

I'm assuming you're running some sort of ice box then? Can you send me a link to your setup...I'd love to install one on mine. My IAT's were at 117 just before my runs

  2. You cut the same 60ft times I do. Def look into some lighter wheels. Those wheels gotta be heavy. Mine are damn heavy. Truck is looking and running great Randy.

Thanks Jason, I have to admit she has come a long way over the first year I've owned it - Nov. 4 will be our 1yr. anniversary! :)

I actually never weighed the rims and tires before they were installed, but I do know the UPS ticket said the rims were 50lbs. each when delivered. I would guess the tires weigh 20 - 30lbs...maybe 75 each total??

I think there are a couple of reasons why I'm having such a hard time spinning outta the hole: #1 is the 80e's gearing and #2 is the taller and wider tires I'm running. Does anyone know what the smallest diameter rim I can run with stock brakes, or have suggestions for what to run that would increase my times? I know when I upgrade to a Wilwood big brake system, I'm pretty much locked into running at least 20's I think, but it would be nice to find a set of smaller wheels and tires for one last track season.

  3. Just check your stall lock up... I used my hptuners software to determine my stall wasnt locking up at my requested flash... When doing a log take the truck out on a open stretch and start from the dig... Do a brake stall up to about 1500 rpms and hold while scanning and stomp on the gas while releasing brake run up to 100mph... do it a couple times then go to your scan and read it... you'll see the mph go from 0-5mph and when the stall hits your mph will climb in less than .5 seconds to above 15mph... Where the truck starts moving above 0-5mph is where your stall locks up... Mine was doing it at 2500-2700 so therfor I knew my stall flash was off... I had it retuned and the stall then hit a 3400-3600 now... I have a 3000 stall in my truck but due to the supercharger and other mods it stalls higher... Your stall should be the same if not higher if you have a 3000 stall or more... Its worth looking into and I dont think its your current converter... good luck If you have Hptuners I can send you one of my scans so you can see what I mean on reading your stall...

Ok well, I'm basing my flash stall off how Chris from Circle D told me how to do it - from a dig and no brake stall the flash stall is the rpm reading between 3 - 5 mph. If that's the case, then I'm flash stalling right at 2947 on the first log from my track run.

1st log from the track: from a dig and no brake stall looking on the HPT chart log, @ 4 mph = 2947 rpms. Now, there is a slight bump in the green line (mph) when looking at the chart just after that. The peak of the small bump in the line is 14 mph @ 3380 rpms. I could be wrong, but doesn't the green bump = converter lockup? The second bump in the green mph line occurs at 103 mph and 4540 rpms on the log

2nd log from the track: Tried a brake stall - looking at the HPT log I stalled the truck up to 1899 rpms, 0 mph, stomped on the gas, let off the brake and @ 2 mph I was at 2564 rpms, at 6 mph I was at 3230 rpms and then the slight bump in the green line is @ 17mph and 3540 rpms

  4. Well pulling the trans for a 3rd time to change the stall isn't an option for me right now since my Brother got transferred and I don't have a lift to work on it anymore. I think my next best option is to put some smaller rims and tires on it for the track next spring. I'm guessing that would shave .2 off my 60'. As stated earlier, the 305/40/22's are hurting me. Once Lonnie finishes my e85 double pumper fuel bucket so I can get the tune dialed in AND change out the 3.3 to a 2.7 blower pulley, hopefully I'll hit mid to low 11's

  5. Thanks Brian. Yeah, she's not quite dialed in yet because the AFR is off. It's consistently flash stalling just under 3k, like 2950 if I remember, and trust me, I told PI to make the tightest converter possible for my setup.

lol, it's funny how everyone notices those damn mud flaps but me. They were on the truck when I bought it and I keep forgetting to take them off!

  6. I live about 2 hours from Canada LOL... Northern MN... No one I mean no one wants to race me not even the rich pipeliners with there diesel rediculous lifted trucks and shiney rims with bigger turbos and tunes lol... Everyone else is a teenage ricer that I just accel normally and dust them or a 60 year old man with a retirement corvette or camaro. It's actually really funny cause everytime I pull up to a meet or a car gathering everyone is allways whispering and pointing, its like the grim reaper has shown up and everyone just steps back and gauks... Just walking through the crowds I have heard people say stuff quietly to eachother like "you know that thing is supercharged, and that truck is unbeatable lol... I just snicker and walk away : my truck is not all that fast low 12's maybe high 11's... " It just sounds bada$$ with the cam and the mp112 with a 2.8"pulley... The servo and shift kit hits very hard too... What really gets people is when you open the electronic cutouts and the truck sounds like a 60-70's loper muscle car...

If I had a car trailer and a big enough truck besides my 2007 colorado I'd seriously think about it... My SSS woukld cost a fortune in gas to get down there at 12-13mpg hwy and 0-8 city lol... Plus if something broke I'd be screwed... Nitrous not installed yet but next spring you bet your A$$ I'll be ready and if you want to make a trek up north to Brainard international speedway we can run them and if you want you can follow me home and we can have a few beers and go fishing for the weekend lol...

Wow, you are up there! It's a good thing you didn't make the trek down anyway because there were so many street cars and trucks there it was freekin ridiculous! If we weren't waiting on track clean up from some dude puking oil all over it, we were waiting in HUGE lines to make a run. As I said, all night there from 6:30 - 11:30 I only managed two freekin runs!

We'll see how next year pans out, sounds like a fun weekend if I could get up that way!

  7. I couldnt hear any or see any front end movement, but did you have any front wheel spin?

Nope, none. The tires usually just chatter off dry pavement, but with all that rubber already on the track, there was none whatsoever. It's more or less a love hate relationship with the 80e...I'd love to do an AWD burnout, but at the same time (and as you can see from my MPH) the mid range and top end are really impressive. I've really got to figure out a way to lower my 60' some way or another. I'm sure the 3.0 or 2.7 blower pulley will help some, but maybe I should look into some smaller diameter wheels and drag radials as I'm sure the 305/40/22's are slowing me down some too.

  8. As far as e-85. I have zero experience with it. In Alaska all we have is 90 octane. I have learned a lot about methanol and how to manipulate it.

I personally would love to have e85. Because it allows for a lot more compression/boost etc. but it requires a lot of fuel. Which the dual big pumps would support. The Walbro 450 I think is built for e85. I'm not sure on the 400. Hopefully the potato head will chime in here, he is very knowledgable about running e85.

My thoughts are if you can I would. But catch 22 is you can only get it in specific places. So if you travel in your truck I would not.

I just talked to Zippy about going the e85 route and he said go for it! He also said I could choose the flex fuel option which is supposedly just a sensor just in case I'm low on fuel and no e85 stations are around. As long as it's not too expensive, I think that's what I'll do.

  9. Lol. Nope. Sorry.

The 04 and up Sss's have a much larger fuel bucket. They also have a return less fuel system.

I have an 03. It is a return system. I got an 04 tank and bucket. And converted the 04 bucket to a return setup. The 04 bucket can easily fit two large pumps in there. The stock 03 return bucket you have to cut the crap out of the bucket to get two pumps in the bucket.

lol, ok I looked over Atomic's build thread on the bucket and saw the larger bucket size on the '04 you were talking about. Do you know if there's a special pump needed to run E85...I've heard that is a better fuel to run for boost? Any thoughts or input on that?

It's a little confusing at first. But the hardest part is the wiring and no one makes a harness for our trucks but justin will square you away. I think he's got it figured out. But so your aware,, a single 450 with a Hotwire kit will support 850hrsp. Run a new feed and return and your set. Unless your going for 1k+ I think you should be alright....

Thanks Steve. I'll def. need to do some more research before I tackle the bucket list project but think I can handle it!

  10. Upgrade the fuel system, you have one of the nicest SSS trucks in the country IMO, you can always dvr the game and I have a feeling the Royals will be a contender the next few years. I even told a member in KC they would be a hot team when they smoked the Red Sox last season early on right after the Marthon Bombings. Definitley hope the Royals win it all. The Chiefs are looking good also, if they make it to the SB you have some big decisions!

Been watching this video since Teddy had the truck, helped me decide I will only go with Corsa or Billy Boat.

haha, that is an awesome vid he made. I watched it several times! Thanks for the kind words on my truck. I have to admit, I'm totally in love :) and will be upgrading the fuel system very soon. I hope you're right about the Royals too, would love to see them as contenders for the next few years or more!

  11. Ok. I'm going to try to help you. Build your own dual pump setup.

I also was in need of a new fuel setup. And I was going to have lonnies build me a new setup. He wouldn't do what I wanted. I wanted dual Walbro 400's. He said that dual 255's was more than enough. Well. He might be right. But I have seen a lot of these trucks with boost eat a lot of fuel.

So. I priced it out myself. I built it all myself. And I spent about 350 on the fuel bucket. What I spent the most on was the fuel lines and regulator. You are at a level you need to consider a 8an feed and a return line with a boost referenced regulator. I probably have about 1k into just my fuel bucket, lines, fittings and regulator.

I remember you buying id1000's. Build a fuel system to support the whole setup. I am NOT a mechanic. I have had some help from friends, but I did my entire fuel bucket by myself. You can do this. I think you can build it yourself with more pump for less money. I can link you to quite a few fuel pump builds to read through and get a feel for it first.

Now if you are a RB, then by all means. Just have lonnies build your setup, but don't let him talk you into 2 255's. Our trucks are heavy, we run 58psi instead of 43.5 like the cars and your are running boost. You can never have too much pump on a return system. But remember. You need more to your fuel system than just the fuel pumps.

    Just my 2 cents.

Awesome...I'm down to build my own bucket! I still need one though, lol. How much do you want for your spare one?

  12.

Can't root for the Giant's, they beat both my teams. I like the way the Royals have surprised so many people this year. They are hungry. There has been some good baseball played this post season. A 7 game series would be great. May the best team win.

Me too! Should be a good series as long as the Royals don't pull off another sweep - 3 in a row would be insane!

Trying to get my hands on a couple of tickets since I've never been to any World Series before. I just don't know if I want to spend 2k on tickets or 2k on an upgraded fuel system for my truck

  13. I've still got the gas tank off my '04 in the basement, which should have the part you need. I have no clue what to ask for it though.

Go easy on me, Lonnie wants like $800.00 just to rebuild it :)

Hell, I could even send you back the one that comes out of my tank if you'd like. I just can't pull mine, send it to him and wait a month for him to build it.
