  1. Yeah, I think it's a fair deal for sure. Gl w/your build!
  2. Thanks! ...it's goin down! I can't wait to roast all fours off the line!
  3. I'm selling the trans. out of my '04 SSS AWD because I'm doing the 80e swap. It's a 2004 4L60e, 29,xxx miles, Transgo HD2-C shift kit, vette servos, FLT aluminum accumulator pistons and C5 Deep pan. It shifts fast and hard and is in perfect working condition. I live in the KC area. If interested, pm me. I'm asking $800.00 OBO. Thanks. Randy C.
  4. Got the converter ordered today from Circle D. Decided on a Pro 3 multi disk w/3k stall...hope this works!! https://www.circledspecialties.com/c-122-pro-series-multi-disk.aspx Also got on a late night spending spree on ebay too... Black and crystal headlight conversions w/blue hid's, lightly smoked tails, factory SS emblem for my new shaved gate, found a front drive shaft for $150.00...I'm going broke faster than I thought!
  5. That looks killer! I was looking into that Gaylord lid but my shaved gate has custom paint over the little spoiler on top of the gate. From the looks of your pics, it looks like you had to take yours off so the speedster would fit right?
  6. Here's an interesting tidbit of info on the power loss...just a FYI http://jakesperformance.com/4L80E_FAQ.html
  7. Here's a couple of pics I took that didn't come out so good...still waiting on Wheatley to return my PCM before I can take more
  8. Pulled the trigger on a FLT LVL 4 80e yesterday! I'm okay with it being a little slower than the 65 lvl 7 - the way I drive, I would rather have the security of a much stronger unit
  9. I talked to Brian just a few ago and he says go with the 80 too. I found a dude on Craigslist - Certifix transmission in kc mo that is selling rebuilt 80's for $1250.00! I was thinking to maybe scoop one of those up and take it to my tranny guy to put a shift kit in it and just go with that??
  10. Thanks Dan. The dude from FLT said he would extend the 10% off sale that just ended a coupla days ago bc I called and left a message during the sale. That would make the lvl 7 $3600 + shipping. Jake's was 4100 for the lvl 3 80 + shipping - BUT I would still need to do the shafts, wiring, cross member, dip stick, etc. which would be another 1 - 1.5k. My question is: is the 80 worth the extra 2k do you think? oh, + I would need to do a re-tune with the 80 for another 4 or 500. The 65 I could do myself at my brother's shop bc it's plug n play...I"M CONFUSED NOW!!!
  11. Thanks, I'm stoked about my build! Ok...so today I just got off the phone with a very reputable trans builder here in my home town and he's telling me with the new parts that are recently available for the stock 4L65e they can build it to handle as much power I want to throw at it - the TVS 2300, heads, cam, etc. ALSO, I just got off the phone with FLT and they recommended their level 7 65e instead of the 80 swap as well. Can I have some opinions on this please?
  12. Yes, thank you...it was a great find. No 80 or maggie yet, I'm still deciding between Jake's and FLT on the tranny. I just got a couple of quotes today and will be doing the 80 first so I don't roast the stock one by putting the maggie on first.
  13. Ok, so apparently the reason I thought PATC's prices were so good was bc their website doesn't work properly...it doesn't add all the extras to the total. I got their bid today for a stage 2 80 and converter...get this...$6,180.00 plus shipping! That price does come with the transgo shift kit installed, harness, cross member, input shaft and everything else needed for the swap. SO, I take back what I said about Jake's - his quote of $4,100.00 + 150 shipping wasn't so bad after all - although that doesn't include the shift kit, cross member or harness.
  14. He's the store mgr. at the one on Kansas Ave in KC KS...the ghetto Hey man, I DO appreciate your input, but your comment just rubbed me the wrong way so I apologize for my reaction. I have a pretty short fuse sometimes. On a different note, I did receive the hood and gate today UNDAMAGED! They're flawless and look even better in person. Got them installed right away and took some pics but they have so many coats of zaino on them the pics turned out like crap bc the clouds, trees and everything else reflected onto them. I'll take some more this weekend and get them posted here, that is if Wheatley gets my PCM back to me. She's laid up in the garage till then.
  15. That's what I heard to, and is what I was originally planning on putting in until 2bfast chimed in. Now after seeing this PATC site, I'm leaning toward them. They have every imaginable part on their site - crossmembers for the swap, custom made transf. cases attached to the 80e, transgo shift kits pre-installed, sweet converters, paddle shift kits, you name it and they have it. Very impressive website.
  16. Ok, so now I've been doing a little more research on Tranny shops and pricing bc of these posts. 2bfast recommended Jake's and I just assumed that would be the proper choice, and he may be a great tranny builder, but seems to be overpriced. Does anyone know anything about PATC - Performance Automotive Transmission Center? ...Just a company I found that seems to have a MUCH more impressive website than Jake's, FLT or anyone else I've came across. Seems to have much better pricing too. www.transmissioncenter.net If anyone has any info or experiences with them, please let me know. Thanks
  17. My check engine light came on the very day I got it home from upstate NY (after driving an average speed of around 80 for 1400 miles), called Teddy the previous owner and he said it was the o2 sensor bc of the high flow cats and suggested I put in some injector cleaner. I ran some lucas through the tank and the light went off but came back on again shortly after. I ran several more bottles through each time I filled up w/BP 93 (which is all I ever use) but it wouldn't go away + the engine lost a fairly significant amount of power. A few days ago I had my brother do a full diagnostic on it and it threw out a P040 code: catalyst efficiency - low bank 1. SO, since Kansas doesn't have emissions testing and I wasn't up for dropping 7 or 800 for new cats, we gutted em. I'm sending the PCM to Wheatley to eliminate the rear o2 sensors tomorrow and have my fingers crossed that the engine's performance will return.
  18. Thanks August/Jason - I'm very appreciative of both of you guy's input on my build! ...I try not to hold any grudges, shit happens sometimes and I may have overreacted to his comment anyway on that last thread - no worries. I may have to pile drive the Fedex guy tomorrow if he's jacked up my delivery tho
  19. Thanks Johnny! I'm super stoked to be getting the hood and gate tomorrow from Fedex!! I'll post more pics as soon as I get them installed. I'm just praying they didn't get damaged . I really can't thank you enough for suggesting them to me.
  20. Hello everyone! I first wanted to thank everyone who responded in my previous post about how to mod out my '04 SSS w/a 15k budget to start. Yesterday I started some preliminary work on the truck to get ready for the 4L80 tranny swap and Maggie. ...We'll see how much $'s left after those two very expensive upgrades! Yesterday I took my truck to my Brother's Shop at Firestone. We gutted the cats and serviced both differentials. Here's what I'm starting out with: 2004 SSS , 29,594 original miles, 1 owner, near flawless condition with the following mods performed by the previous owner: Performance: Corsa Sport, Dyantech LT's W/ Cats, Wheatley Custom Tune, NGK TR55, MSD 8.5mm Plug Wires, Volant CAI, SLP Stat, Transgo HD2-C, Vette Servos, FLT Aluminum Accumulator Pistons, C5 Deep Transmission Pan Exterior: 2" Drop, Carriage Works 5-piece grill, Street Scene Bowtie, Bed Rug, Soft Tonneau, Silverstars, Factory matched tinted windows, Antenna delete, SS Bowtie hitch cover
