  1. So I took it to a dealership near my work and they plugged it into thier computer. It is running 206 degrees, so it is telling the fans to run. They are replacing the thermostat today. It has been doing this since I replaced the thermostat like a month ago. So I must have got a bad thermostat from O'Rielly .
  2. The guage appears to be working normal. It starts at 0 and slowly warms up to below the 210 mark. It did get hot once awhile ago, the guage went up, and my dash gave me an Engine Coolant Hot warning. So I shut it down. I replaced the thermostat and it never got hot again. But now that I think about it, it seems like the fans have been doing this every since then. Do you think when it got hot that it could have damaged the temp sensor or sending unit?
  3. I don't have the A/C on, so I don't think it should be that. I don't think they shut off at above 45-mph either as far as I can tell.
  4. No, I've had the same Wheatley tune for about 2 years.
  5. Hey guys, I'm trying to solve a probem that I started having with my truck a couple of months ago. As soon as the truck warms up, my electric fans turn on high and don't shut off until I turn the engine off. It is really loud and annoying. The engine isn't overheating, the guage maintains right around 200. It's not even hot here, its only like 40 or 50 degrees outside. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?
  6. Mine had the growl when I bought it at 85,000 last year. No warranty, I replaced all the bearings in the front differntial myself.
  7. Mine does this exact same thing. I've just been too lazy to tear the panel off to look at it. Has anyone figured out what it is exactly?
  8. Alright I think I will just go ahead and do it, I just hope it don't look too goofy with my billet grille.
  9. Does anyone have any pics of blacked out brake ducts on a silver birch SS? I am thinking about doing it but I would hate to paint them and then not like it.
  10. Yeah, the lettering was on there when I got it. I am normally not a fan of lettering on tires it usually looks cheesy, but I kind of like it on here, and lots of people have complimented how good them tires look on there so I think I will leave it that way. They are kind of a mild all-terrain tire that works awsome in the snow, which is good for these long Montana winters.
  11. It is a custom setup I had done here in town, with an 18" Magnaflow dual in/out muffler. It was cheaper than a catback system and it sounds great.
  12. I finally snapped a few pics of my truck, I've had it for a few months now but haven't gotten around to taking pictures.
  13. I am also looking for that file in dxf. dwg. or even autocad format. Please email me also, [email protected]. Thanks
  14. Agreed, the Magnaflow dual in/dual out is a straight through design with now baffles restrictions or anything and it has a built in x-pipe. It is easily the best muffler setup available as far as being free flowing, and they sound bad ass. I have one and love it.
  15. I just ordered mine too, but after looking at some pics of the liquidome ones on a TBSS I kind wish I would have ordered them. Does anyone have pics of the LiquiDome overlays on one of our trucks?
  16. I had some short round Magnaflow Race Series mufflers on mine and it was loud as sh*t, sounded like a stock car when you got on it. It was fun for a while but it got pretty annoying since it is my daily driver and it popped when you let off the throttle which I didn't really care for. I replaced them with a single 18" long magnaflow dual in dual out muffler with the built in X-pipe, quieter but still sounds awesome, the way to go in my book.
  17. Just did mine over the weekend with some help from my dad. Wasn't too bad to do at all took about 5 hours.
  18. Here is a link to it hopefully it works, http://www.justdifferentials.com/index.php...169d75d968fa240. It's called their master overhaul kit for the GM 8.25" IFS. The product code is MK GM8.25-B. Hope that helps.
  19. I would love to see your pics from your rebuild, I am planning on doing mine either this weekend or the next. I bought a complete bearing and seal kit from justdifferentials.com for like $130. Much cheaper than buying a new or rebuilt one, and the shop I took it to was going to charge me $900. Hopefully it isn't too big of a deal to do since I have never done one, but my dad has done many rear ends and had faith that we could do it.
  20. My volume and seek steering wheel controls are pretty beat up, looks like the guy before me had a hook or something. Anyway I bought a new one from the stealership but I am not sure how to replace them. Has anyone ever done this before? Do I need to pull the whole wheel off? Any help you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  21. I do hear a slight growling type noise coming the from the front end already. I am gonna try and drain teh fluid this weekend if I get a chance.
  22. I would love to see a write up on how to replace these bearings as well, my truck makes the same growling noise, and I do not want to pay some mechanic to do it. Sounds like it isn't too hard, but I would like a little guidance before I go tearing it apart and realize I don't have the right parts or tools.
  23. I just bought an 05 Sss and love it, but it has a 5 piece billet bolt over grill set on it that is missing the lower grill one. I was just wondering if anyone had one of these or a set they are parting out that they would like to sell. I don't know what brand it is since it came with the truck. I will try to post pics later. Thanks.
  24. Just bought 05 silverado SS AWD in silver birch. I didn't get that great of deal but as soon as I drove it I was hooked and had to get it. I'm such a sucker for fast trucks. Anyway it has 84K on it, is there anything I should be worried about wearing out or are these pretty tough? I hope it lasts me a long time because it will be my daily driver. I drove my last truck every day for 8 years straight, finally wore her out.
