  1. Youd have to ask LME in Houston,I guess they like to err on the side of caution with a brand new $15k engine. What bias are you speaking of??? Ive seen many a 408 with ported ls3 heads and big cams peak at 7000+ so I think the only 1 ASSuming anything is you. Regardless,a ported truck intake spanks a stock LS3 FAST intakes ASS.I think I am the only one who has dynoed both besides the guy on Ls1tech.com who said he'd post results in a week, then got know it all shitty comments and didnt.Sounds very familiar but even with people being assholes, ill still get the info out there so people wont waste money and time chasing HP.
  2. I have a brand new in box Baer 2037 14" rear rotor kit for 99-07 pickups(might even work on newer models but youll need to check)These include the adapters needed to install and the rotors. These can also be used for the z06 caliper conversion and offer a major increase in stopping power and improved looks!!!Retail on these is over $600...looking at getting $400 shipped plus PP fees. I also have a BRAND NEW Drive By Wire 07 up ported 4 bolt 90mm TB.This was on a brand new L92 intake I bought and had a friend port it.I have no use for it at the moment so its just been sitting aroundThese are perfect for guys using the NNBS/TBSS intake or who are using a Radix with the 90mm adaptor. On the 03-06 DBW trucks,a Xlink will be required for proper operation.NO CORE CHARGE!!!Looking at getting $110 shipped plus PP fees. I also have a Drive By Wire 03-07 ported 3 bolt 78mm TB.I had this on my Escalade before the motor swap and it offered a good increase in throttle response as well as hp/tq.Looking at getting $95 shipped plus PP fees. I do have pictures for interested buyers but I think everyone knows what ported TB's and new rotors look like!! I am open to offers/trades if anyone has any. Most porters want $100-$125 for the porting with your stock TB or a $100+ core charge so I feel my prices are more than fair!!Also, the rotors are prices $200 cheaper than I paid not to mention shipping costs!!!Active military members with on base shipping address' take an additional 5% off all prices(thanks for serving!) Thanks for looking!
  3. Go with a NNBS intake or a TBSS intake, direct bolt on using a Xlink for the 90mm TB. I had my 408 with TEA L92 heads dyno'd with both a ported L92 truck intake(by ls2portworks) and a box stock FAST ls3 intake.Ported truck intake beat the FAST by 17hp and it wouldve been more but the runs were stopped at 6500rpm. IMO,the only reason to use a car intake over the newer,07 up,truck intake is for looks!!The 07 up truck intakes are butt ugly but are a better performer than the car intakes, esp stock for stock!!
  4. Looks expensive!!!lol Have you considered running both pumps full time?? Personally,I would run a -10 feed and a -8 return with both pumps running FULL TIME. I have seen way to many Grand Nationals lose engines from the second pump failing to come on. Lets say you have a 650rwhp truck and you run 1 pump full time and the 2nd on a hobbs switch to come on at 7#-8# of boost. If that 2nd pump fails to come on,do you think you can let off the gas quick enough??? If you have your truck tuned running both pumps full time, you will be able to tell immediately if one craps out. JMHO
  5. I bought a CSR from FTI Convertors(sponsor on tech).FTI was selling them for $275 shipped to tech members. Good to know theres more than 1 option for a nice flexplate!!
  6. CurtD did not build his turbo kit,a guy named Walker Morgan did and a friend of mine named Brett did the exhaust.I think Walkers website is www.morganperformance.com.You can buy a similar kit for around $4500 from him.... IMO,the hub bub about having equal length primarys on turbo app's is internet BS at its finest.Every factory turbo system I can think of has log type manifolds.A good example is the Buick GN's where the stock log manifolds are good to mid to low 10's in the 1/4 mile. When replaced with the aftermarket setups that are still log design manifolds, youre looking at 7 sec 1/4 mile capable!! Then again,GN guys make well over 1100hp with 1 tiny 70mm turbo and all the LS guys scream its impossible!!If they can make a 3800lb GN with a 70mm turbo go 8's@150+mph,you know its making alot more hp than the turbo is rated!!!
  7. He cannot read???Because reading and finding the data port to plug it in are the hardest thing about using it once loaded with custom tunes BY YOUR TUNER.Plus you can datalog, run two aux inputs for a wbo2 or egt gauge, clear trouble codes, and alot more if you want to get into it.But those are features you dont have to use.... And the Xcal is how many hundred $$$ more on top of your tune,$550(retail is $600 i think)??Plus $250 tune charge? For $800 total,I could have 2 vehicles tuned with SCT. If you have the time and want to learn the tune and are starting with a mostly stock vehicle,I think HPT,EFI live and the others would be a worth wild investment.Myself??Ive learned to tune my Buicks,1 with the stock ecm,the other with a FAST XFI and the ONLY reason I learned to do it myself was there arent many people around that are knowledgeable on them(same if you live in a rural area)With my late model GM stuff,im lucky enough that I have a local tuner that works a full time job tuning late model GM's and Mustangs and running the dyno .He does it all day, every day and has done well over 100 GM's(im sure alot more but I dont know the #,just saying he is familiar with them)Point is,he has experience that would take me a long time to learn.Since I have a local "expert" that I can call on that I know does great work, ill use them.
  8. Best of both worlds is a SCT hand held loaded with custom tunes!!! With my SCT I have the option to have up to 3 100% custom tunes(done on the street because of awd but they can be loaded with ANY custom tune),I can datalog with the hand held, clear trouble codes on any GM car/truck from 96 up,and a few other differences. You forced induction guys jaws might hit the ground when you saw you are leaving another 100+rwhp on the table by being limited with your 1 pump gas tune.Or your nitrous car having to drive around NA with a nitrous tune. Im sure some will start slamming SCT but id be certain those who do havent had there GM vehicle tuned via SCT.You can swap tunes in under 5 minutes..... I see some tuners slamming the SCT software but im pretty certain its because they dont want to spend the $$$$ for the licensing vs the EFI live,HPT,etc, etc, that are roughly 10x cheaper!!!! Just the fact the tunes can be changed by the end user and the fact you have multiples instead of just 1 makes it the clear winner!!! I know about the hack job that allows HPT to have 2 tunes but ill tell you 1 thing ive learned from owning Buick Grand Nationals, any wiring that is spliced in is a failure waiting to happen, even more so when they have to do with the ecm!! Several FAST SCT tuned GM's around here in Birmingham,AL.My local tuner sells HPT,Diablo,SCT,and others. After seeing a 100% stock Lq9(no cam or heads)with a rear mount STS kit make 650rwhp after being tuned with SCT software,I knew it was good stuff. If anyone truly thinks there is a HUGE difference with tuning programs and not the tuner doing the adjustments,go stand back in the line for brains!!lol All of the big tuning programs are all streets taking you to the exact same place!!!
  9. Id take it for $15 shipped to 35226.Pm your paypal addy if thats ok and ill get you paid up....
  10. And since youre a GN owner and probably not closed minded, talk to some GN trans builders. My truck uses the bigger aftermarket servos, not the stock Vette servos, and mine shifts fine in my Escalade.FLT and Performabuilt say the aftermarket servos shift to hard and recc the Vette servos. Contact Lonnie Diers,Mike Kurtz,or Jake Shoemake if you want the best parts for your trans build to last, even towing a GN.
  11. Most GN guys who have owned them a while wont buy a convertor from Rusty@TCS products because we dont want to "suck his balls".A comment he made years ago when guys were having problems with 9/11 converters. Heres some other informative reading about the 9/11 converters http://converter.com/truth.htm And yes I have owned and used a TCS converter.I pulled and sold it after it blew thru the lockup in a mid 11 second GN.A 3500# car vs a 5800# truck.
  12. Since youre a TX resident, use Century Transmission and dont look back!!! http://www.centurytransmission.com/ While the 4l65s arent the best transmission for high hp,a competent builder can get them to live in higher HP apps. Personally,I think Buick Grand National trans builders are the best choice for 4l60/4l65/700r4 builds because they have made a "low performance" 2004r trans a unit that will hold 9's in a full weight 3500+ lb car.GN trans builders were the 1st to get an overdrive automatic trans to live and have been doing it almost 25 years now.Mike Kurtz@Century was 1 of the 1st 2004r builders that could get them to live and just glancing at his site,I also see he has 6l80's living in the high 10s-low 9 second range. I paid around $2000 shipped for my 4l65 and I have a billet output shaft http://www.extremeau...ions/4l60e.html Theyre a GN trans builder too!!lol
  13. http://www.fedex.com/Tracking?tracknumbers=798342915000255&cntry_code=us&clienttype=ivother& Looks like it was delivered this morning.
  14. Shipped the day you gave me your addy via FedEx ground.
  15. TTT If this add is up and not edited to say SOLD,they are still available. And theyre a hell of a deal!!! Not to knock anyones parts but Baer rotors are pretty much the best and I see guys asking more $$ for used rotors than I want for this brand new set!!
  16. Thanks for the info Bear!! Your link doesnt work though bud.
  17. Yea,I read that Justin(?) at EAD Perfromance modifes a stock NV149 input shaft and charges $420+ core.I can have a billet shaft made cheaper than that thru CK Performance.Years ago, billet shafts were $600-$800 on most every application.Chris at CK decided he could make a better/cheaper product and now billet shafts sell for $250-$300. Any other upgrades??
  18. Do you have stabilatrak by chance??Because the non stabilatrak brake lines are different than the stabilatrak lines... I used Goodridge lines on mine and had no problems what so ever. And I actually paid less than the Summit link you posted for the front and rear set.$130 shipped thru autoanything when they were having a xmas sale.
  19. Just picked a NV149 transfer case on ebay for $250 shipped!!There are no pinholes or anything in the case but it does look like the DS yoke was wearing down on the rear bearing, thank goodness no damage from what ive read here. Its in need of a total rebuild with new seals, bushings, and chain. After I get it and my 4l80 rebuilt, these will be going in my truck so I can ditch the BW 4481. Question is,are there any upgrade parts available??Ive heard somthing about the oil pump clip?? What about mating the NV149 to the 4l80???Is it the output shaft on the 4l80 that gets changed or is it the input shaft on the NV149?? If its the 4l80 output,I might just have a CK performance make a billet output the correct size to mate the 2. I did a search but theres alot of conflicting info and most of it is OLD.Any help or advice from others who have done this would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Just as the title states,I have a new in box Baer 2302037 14" rotor kit that includes 2 14" rotors and caliper brackets to retain your stock caliper, rotors are still in plastic and everything is new, never bolted to anything. After talking with Baer, they said these rotors would also work on the c6 z06 brake conversion(youd have to supply your own brackets/calipers,I think supersub on here can hook you up)These are supposedly for the 02 up trucks and SUV's 2wd,so if you have an AWD truck, these wont work without using the c6 calipers/brackets. First $375 shipped gets them.Retail is $600+ from Summit/Jegs.And shipping alone will probably cost $50-$60.Ill gladly take PP but you have to pay the 4% fees.First sale here but I have close to 300 positives on ebay and can provide several references if needed. Pics upon request but theyre new in box.Thanks.
  21. Id sell my set for $75 shipped in the lower 48.They were taken off LONG ago, prob less than 60k miles on them. They wont fit my L92 intake....
  22. Also, ive owned FAST stand alone EFI for the last 14 years and spent alot more oney on FAST products than most here.Facts are facts though and a ported truck intake kills the all mighty FAST intake on dyno runs by what many consider one of the best LS engine builders in the country.
