  1. These would most likely be in pretty rough shape for the front two as well?

I was quoting an auto parts store worker who I was talking to about replacement seats. No idea as far as condition goes, but the $500.00 figure he gave was per seat.

Seats get expensive pretty quick. I have been working on fixing up the drivers bottom in my 2000 Silverado daily driver. It was really trashed. Cloth cover had several holes in it and separated seams, and the foam was turning to powder.

New foam was $150.00 from GM parts direct, and you can't buy the OEM cloth cover any more. Vinyl cover is $124.00, (The color will match), and leather cover is $250.00

So I will have at least $275.00 in just the seat bottom of a standard, non electric seat, and if I was wanting both front seats to match, another cover for the passenger side. Then the bottoms don't match the seat backs. More money for covers for the backs if you want them to match.

    You get the idea. $$$$$

  2. Update!

She was stolen from the Walmart parking lot in Tomball. She's been found in one piece. Recovered at an apartment on the east side of Houston. Only going to say that the radio was tuned to the Tejano station. Minor scratches, the door locks were popped and the ignition had to be rekeyed.

    14 years and counting!

It is really great, and rare, to hear about a good ending to a stolen truck nightmare. Congratulations, I know it's been 13 days of misery. I sure hope the law can put the screws to the scumbags.

    Consider Richards great advise.

Hope you can hang onto her for another 14.

Thanks bud. I'll see if I can get it together. It used to be so simple.

  5. Mine is ready for a new paint job as I’m getting close to 200,000 I figured I’d wait until after the new motor just to prevent damaging new Paint but I do my best to keep it clean

I've had the same thought about paint. I have priced a full paint job with a local shop, (They painted and installed my new AMD cowl hood, recently), but I've got some work that may call for removing the front clip, and I want to get some kind of shelter for the truck before I do the paint.

What method did you use to post the camo truck pic? I've tried every way I can think of to post pics of the new hood with no luck. Photobucket sucks with their new policy. Can't really blame them for going for the bucks but they have screwed up a lot of forum post's and are holding my photos for ransom. :nutkick:

  6. thanks Johnny I’m still beside myself seeing it in person I wasn’t in mine so it made it easier to sneak a picture while they were loading Groceries.

Yup. It's one of those things you just can't Un-see.

I live in a very rural area and have only seen 3 Super Sports, other than my own, in 7 or 8 years. I saw one of them Friday, dirty as any never washed work truck, with a bed full of construction trash. Almost made me cry.

  7. I argue otherwise... I've had 5 s-trucks with the 4.3 and all were super thirsty... I think my SSS get better MPG..... LOL.

I always figured those small motors had to work too hard in a truck to either perform well, or get good mileage. Could be it's just the nature of the 4.3 too.

Like putting too small an outboard on a big boat.
