  1. I think I'll try the plugs...The two that I pulled looked good but they looked like they were burning hot...a little spatter on the electrodes but after reading a few more posts on the plugs, I think I may be blowing the spark out. The two plugs I pulled were gapped about .060 which is the stock gap. The only thing that I'm wondering about is why it's just now doing this when it never did it before. I'll re-gap these down to about .035 and see if it helps, if not, I'll install new plugs. What plug do you recomend? TR5 or TR6 or just the oem ac delco iridium?

  2. I have the problem at boost levels 3-8 lbs...Before it was running good but after doing a couple logs since it started my VE table are now showing really lean...+5 to +7 across the board so I'm thinking it may be a fuel issue. I just changed out the MAP sensor to rule that out but I still have it...I have also seen Knock Retard on almost all hard Accels and WOT's. I will say that it all started after I pulled a spark plug from each bank and reinstalled. I had also unpluged the MAP sensor and tried to start (don't ask me why, I'm not even sure why I did it.) Any advice would be helpful. I do have about 40K on the S/C and 76K on the engine. I also just installed a built tranny and 3k stall about 6-8 months ago in which I lost about 1 second in the quarter after doing so...I'm completely at a loss. Again, any help would be great. There are no codes. I did have one P0300 Misfire code pop up once but I have not been able to duplicate that.

I posted this over in the HPtuners forum also.

    Thx,

    Cody

  3. I chose the 2SS package in Inferno Orange. Options are: RS Package, Inferno Orange Interior Accents, Sunroof, Hurst Short Throw Shifter and Cyber Gray Stripes. There are also a couple dealer installed GM aftermarket parts that I'm going to have installed like a Stainless Cat Back and CAI.

  4. I have used both 87 and 89 in my truck (before the SC) and I noticed no physical or audible difference...I will say I did notice a loss of power. I didn't notice any loss of MPG but I was also dirving it easier since I did run the lower octane...You shouldn't notice a knock or pinging since the computer makes the adjustments to compensate.

  5. :withstupid: Very nice, Cody

Glad to see another station wagon enthusuiast

    Do you still have it?

I do. In fact I am in the process of a frame off pro street build on it. I keep kicking myself in the @ss for tearing it down when there was nothing wrong with it but I think it'll all be worth it in the end.

  6. 56 Chevy 210 4dr station wagon - - started out with a wore out Pontiac 400 and TH400 tranny with the stock 3.73 rear...Engine died with a flat cam and a couple bent rods.

Next - Built 454 4 bolt main, .030 over at roughly 7:1 comp (supposed to be a blower motor), .560/.580 lift .242/.252 @ .050 duration solid tappet cam, steel crank, port matched and de-burred 119cc oval port heads, port matched Performer RPM Intake with a flowed 780cfm Holley double pumper all in front of 1 of 3 built TH400's with various 2800 stalls eventually blowing up the rear end twice and replacing it with a junk yard 12 bolt with 2.73 open rear...all in all it still got the 4000lb car down the strip in a consistant 13 flat @ 101mph.

This was I was changing out the rear end to the 12 bolt

  7. I think I have some bad wheel bearings. At low speeds I can hear...from inside the truck, windows down....some clattering from the passenger side front...it sounds like bearing rolling around inside the cap. I'm gonna be checking it out tomorrow but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and about how expensive were the bearings... Thanks for any info.

  8. I have a Baby Eagle .40 and love it...probably not the best out there but for the money it is definatly a good pistol...I bought mine when they first released them about 9 years ago and picked it up for $360...IMO it a good buy.

  9. As of 0132 this morning February 11th I am now the PROUD daddy of my first baby. Little Danyka Lynne Dale was 5lbs. 9oz. and 19 1/2 in. Everything went very well. The wife was only in full labor for about 3-4 hours. She opted for the epideral so everything was smooth until the "pushing" then it got painful for her again but she only had to push for about 1hr. 45min. so it was pretty quick...I have picture but I haven't uploaded them yet...I will tomorrow. I'm just home for a couple things then headed back to the hospital...she should be released early tomorrow morning. Just thought I'd share my excitement. :D I just can't stop smiling :D

  10. Well, after trying to clear the DTC's and unhooking the battery for about 20 minutes...I am now possitive that I no longer have 2nd gear...at all...I can put it into 2nd and it'll wrap up to about 4k rpm's and when I let off the engine spools all the way down to idle...no drag on the engine what so ever...the truck just coasts...This really p!sses me off for the simple fact that I just had this replaced last year just before I threw the SC on and now I'm already having to replace the tranny again. I'm so tempted to pull the SC just so I can have the tranny replaced under warranty but I just don't want to have to do all that work twice...(pull it off to get the tranny then just to have to re-install it and hope that the tranny holds up again...kinda the reason that I think I may just go ahead and get a built tranny...

Has anybody ever heard of Xtreme Transmissions? http://www.xtremetransmissions.com/page5.php

  11. Well it looks like my tranny may be gone again...after racing on Saturday night it started to shift really strange. While I was at the track it was shifting good...as you can tell by my times, but on the drive home when it would down shift it would kinda hesitate before downshifting (rpm up then down then back up again) and then today was the first day I drove it since I came back from the track and I now have no 2nd gear and OD acts wierd. I still have all other gears but 2nd which I thought if something drops out or goes bad you would at least loose 2 gears not just 1. I checked the DTC's with HPT and I only have some HVAC and convenience codes. I now have the battery unhooked to see if it's a PCM glitch. I'll be finding out here in a bit. Well, if it is my tranny, what would be the best tranny company for the price to go through for a new tranny??? FLP, TCI, ???...Oh..and the tranny fluid smells burnt.
