  1. Awesome. Look forward to following this build in the builds forum. Nothing like a new project!
  2. Thanks guys. I loved it, but after getting married, it got old having the family, including myself, climbing in and out of it. Also, I loved the avalanche as a whole, but I did get tired of the small bed. It suited most of my purposes, but my atv would not fit and it was not ideal for hauling much. I decided I wanted something that drove a bit sportier and closer to the ground. I still hope to drop my SS 2 or 3 inches when I get the funds. Anyone wanting an Avalanche, I would definitely suggest one. I was just ready for a change. THey are pretty versatile and ride great due tot he long wheel base and suspension. Also, 7 years is a record for me to own a vehicle, excluding the Impala SS and S10. They are family members! LOL.
  3. I thought I would post a few pics of my last truck, my 2004 Z71 Avalanche. I bought it brand new and modded it over a few years. It had a Pro Comp 6" suspension lift, Weld Cheyenne chrome 17" wheels, 35/12.50-17 tires, Escalade door handles, billet grill and bowtie, factory painted flares, and on and on.... LOL. It was a great truck and never had a single issue with it. Just sold it to get my SS. I just thought I would share some pics.
  4. Thanks guys. Looks like a nice truck there Jasonhensley22. I love the old square bodies! As far as the "Tahoe" part GreenMtnSS, the Tahoe was a trim level package that the higher optioned S10s came with back then. It actually says Tahoe under the S10 emblems on the side front fenders and on the emblem on the glove box. Mine is a 4.3 automatic with cloth interior. All mine lacked was power windows, which was a rare option around here back then on S10s. The only one I knew of in my hometown back then with power windows was a guy's that ordered his with them. All in all, the little truck has been bulletproof and since I just put 4 new tires on it, I hope it lasts a good while longer! LOL
  5. I felt I should post a couple pics of old faithful. It is my 1989 Chevy S10 Tahoe that my dad bought brand new and when he passed away, i inherited it. I was about 11 when he bought it, and he drove the hell out of it from then on. Over the years he had a few different rides, including a vette, jeep, etc., but he always kept his little truck. It now has over 180,000 miles and I drive it to work every day. It does a terrific job of helping me save my SS for pretty days and weekends! It's a bit rough around the edges these days, but by no means a junker. May be silly, but I thought I would give my little S10 some love.
  6. Love it!!!!!!!! If I was buying a new or newer truck, that is exactly what I would want. I hope you enjoy your new ride.
  7. Definitely love the headliner. It all looks nice. It's always gratifying to do a project like that yourself !
  8. Looks great Dylan, as always. Love the Adams stuff!!!
  9. For the record, I like lifted trucks. My last ride was a Z71 Avalanche with a 6 inch lift. But I DO NOT UNDERSTAND why anyone would put a lift kit on an SS. Simply horrible. They put a lot of work and money into ruining a nice ride. The interior looks decent, but the wheels, tires, gas cap cover, and lights are horrible. :idiot:
  10. I love them!!!! That's what I want!!!!! :dbanana:
  11. So we were out on the town last night in the SS. Mine has the 2003 factory gray wheels. We were leaving the restaurant and were walking to the truck when she says, "You know, I think we should put chrome wheels on the SS." Another sign that I married the right woman! LOL!
  12. I love both black and red. My Avalanche was red, so I went with black for a change. It is a b*tch to keep clean though! Hard to beat black when it's clean though!!!!!
  13. I like the color matched one. I thought about a black onr for mine. Love the "Wasted a Ford Lately" one! My TN plate with no frame just has an unfinished look. I have always felt that the devil is in the details. Thanks for all of your opinions, positive and negative! LOL
  14. Well, I have my black SS with smoked tails and 3rd brake light, but now I am looking for a cool rear license plate frame. Stock rear SS bumper, of course. Show me pics of what you got. Tell me your opinions or ideas? Should I go with a black one or chrome? I just want one that will look cool.
  15. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Build something NASTY!!!!
  16. Damn! I love Cali, but prolly a good thing I live in TN. My tags here are $79, and that seems high! LOL Taxes are around 10% though .
  17. Save up and buy 2BFAST's truck. It's bad a$$!!!!!!!! :dbanana:
