  1. No recall exists on the window resealing...Sorry. ;)
  2. Also in the 1980-87 run, the GMC line up was Sierra (base model) - High Sierra - and Sierra Classic (highest optioned truck).
  3. "It cost $35 - $25 to look the code up in the database..." WOW!!! ChevelleBoy that sounds a little weird to me. All the dealership does is go online and go to a GM website, plug in your vin# and it gives them a key code. Then they type that code into a key machine and it auto cuts a new key (like walmart, lowes, etc). There is NO fee involved here, but hey if you need a key, then go for it right. LOL!!!

    New SS!

Nice truck. Does it have the spare tire lock option? Just open the plastic square flap to the right of your rear license plate, there should be a lock cylinder in there if you have this option. Your trucks ignition key is used to unlock this cylinder. If you don't have this option and you replace your missing spare, then go to the local dearship and order the like $20 option....
  5. Well what PN# was on your warranty paperwork from the dealership?
  6. GOOD JOB!! The trucks looks 10X's better w/o all the O.E. moldings and decals on her, and I c u kept the only nameplates that mattered on the doors!!! LOL!!! SMART. VERY SMART.
  7. Man u guys r starting to scare me on these check engine lights after using Seafoam. I even treated my roomates '93 Buick Custom this weekend, it had 79K original miles on the 3.8L. It smoked like a freight train too! lol!! It runs better, and no lights as of now on the dash. This car smoked 3 times worse than my '01 GMC Sierra did, my truck had 40K on her, but I kept her very maintained, unlike my roomates car. I guess good luck and keep us posted on what happens fellow trucker.
  8. I was wondering too b/c Seafoam is safe for O2 senosrs and cats.......

    problem

THIS POST 169!!! SWEET!!! Try a new fuel filter too, it should be replaced every 15k.
  10. Yeah, it's really up to the dealer. This topic seams to vary on VERY different levels at all of the dealerships that I've been to....
  11. I recommend ONLY the GM brand extended warranty! I used to work in a GM service shop, just trust me... I KNOW what I'm talking about.
  12. I"d go to ur GM dealer or log onto "gmgoodwrech.com" and order a soft GM t/cover. It has a matching Bowtie made into it, it's lighter, and designed exactly for our trucks!!!!!
  13. Has anyone had good responce from the newer Autolite XP iridium plugs in our H.O. 6.0L's? I was also wanting to know if the correct PN# is XP5245 for our trucks. Thanks again...

  15. Oh, maybe a new Goodyear Gatorback belt too! (after reading another thread).
  16. Oh, I must have mis-read from the beginning of this whole thread. I though we were saying that this was a FACTORY programmed setting..... Opps.
  17. What about NEW "lowered shocks"? This might also help to remove the vibration ur describing.
  18. 1 person can do it. Remove the plastic engine cover 1st, then remove the PCV valve hose AND valve itself from the hose. Then clean the end of the hose if needed with a shop towel to remove dirt, etc. Open your can of Seafoam and remove the pull tab seal, then start ur truck up and close the unlocked door. Now, reach under the hood and place the PCV hose (w/o valve) into the Seafoam can. Now, depending on hoe much carbon build up u have, ur truck might start ideling rough and try to die. This is were u use your other hand to "throttle" ur truck via the trottle body linkage on the throttle body itself. Only use about half the can, then kill the trucks engine. Reattach the PCV valve to the PCV valve hose, place back ito valve cover. Reinstall the plastic engine shield, then pour the remaining contents into half a gas tank of super unleaded. By now enough time has passed to restart ur truck and test drive it. Again, depending on how much carbon ur engine has internally, the exhaust will produce white smoke and smell BAD!!! Just drive your truck for about 10 miles, and enjoy a normal routine truck life for another 20-30K. It use this remaining half tank of Seafoam treated super unleaded before "filling up" again. Hope this helps and isn't too long winded. =o)
  19. It was 24 here in TX this AM, and neither my nor my father's 2004 GMC VHO's had this seat feature.... Maybe it's a CHEVY thing.
  20. Sea foam, fuel filter, clean/replace air filter, r&b tires, I'd go with new plugs (just me being picky though), and the trans fluid flush too (maybe at a dealership who sells the "BG" product line)..... -Jon in TX.
  21. 2004 GM trucks had NO EXTERNAL fuel filter. So 2003 had to be the last year for a easily servicable fuel filter. But since your truck has so few miles, I"d do what the guys above said 1st. Have truck alignment checked, run 28 psi in all 4 tires, add Chevron Techtron additive on your next fill-up of SUPER UNLEADED... Then report back to us bro. =o) Seafoam fuel treatment can be had at most AutoZones, Pep Boys, O'Reillys, etc> It is a white metal can with red lettering, about $5.00 is the price here for like a single 10oz bottle? 1 can treats 8-20 gallons (or something like that). I've used 1/2 the can via the PCV valve hose, then poured the rest into half a tank of super unleaded. Then drove the truck for while. Seafoam helps to remove carbon deposites and clean the injectors too. It works on carburated and fuel injected vehicles. Heck my brother now adds a small mixture to his lawn mower and weed eater now......
  22. Now $2.20 a gallon for 93 octane in N. central Texas!!! YIPPIE!!!
  23. Yes. A 4L65E is tha same as a 4L60E, with the exception of the 4L65E having a larger clutch pack. At least that is what the GM tech's told me Sat at work.....
