  2. That's a good idea. My current truck was 4 hours away and had good luck with. This dealer was real clever with there pics that I asked for and they left a lot of the imperfections out. The truck I'm interested in now is in highland MI, anybody live out that way?
  3. I've been using auto trader and cars.com. I also found a 2006 gmc Sierra VMax CCSB with 55k miles about 5 hours away. I'm trying to get some info on that one, seems like a good price for an SLT , $21k , what do you guys think?
  4. It's very disappointing. There were probably a million rock chips that were attempted to be touched up, scratches down the complete one side, underneath I pulled a corn stalk out there was mud in everywhere underneath and evidence on the frame of the truck bottoming out. The rockers barely had any paint left on them due to rocks. The tires were very choppy with chunks missing. They are asking $28.5k for it. I wouldn't have bought it for $18k! It's sad because it only has 20k miles.
  5. Maybe I'm not meant to have a vortec max. I drove 5 hours one way to go pick up the truck today, to find out the salesman's description was no where near the actual condition of the truck. This truck was so beat to hell. I can't believe this happened. The search continues....

  7. I love the idea of the dynatechs with cats and being as nice as they are, street legal blah blah blah, but $1300-1500! That's a lot of money. I'd like to hear more from the guys using dynatechs Nvm, they aren't street legal because they change the cat location
  8. I'm going to be purchasing an 07 classic vortec max silverado. It's my understanding that the exhaust is separate untill it meets at the muffler dual in dual out then Ys into one and exits. I want to run LPP longtubes which would eliminate the cats but why can't I just use a y off the headers and run it through a single in/out muffler like a 5.3 silverado? Any suggestions? I don't want it loud but a little louder than stock is fine.
  9. Is there not that much power loss with the factory exhaust. I'd like to keep my truck quiet too but I'd like to add headers. I have always used magnaflow and my last one was a 22 inch case and I loved it but that was without headers.
  10. I'm looking for a set of 4 plus the tailgate handle for greystone metallic. They can either be escalade handles or all painted handles. 03-07classic. Thanks. -Dan
  11. But I did hear the flake in the greystone metallic acts as a global spoiler on the truck which produces some mad downforce!

  13. I never ended up getting that truck but on Wednesday I should be the proud new owner of a 2007 silverado classic, everything but a sunroof in greystone metallic with only 20k miles on it. It's a crew cab short bed and of course the vortec max package. yeah baby!
  14. What do you mean by the fast color? Well I haven't bought it yet but I'm still hoping it has the 410s if not oh well but it would be nice.
  15. Well after a few years of wishing, hoping, and passing up deals Wednesday of next week I should be the proud new owner of a 2007 LT3 Silverado Classic with the Vortec Max package. The truck has everything but a sunroof and only has 20k miles on it. its a CCSB in greystone metallic. Ive been wanting one of these for a while now and very excited to get it. I have a couple questions though: Do all VMax come with 410 gears? What transmission is in there? Sorry for the elementary type questions just clarifying. Thanks.
  16. These trucks sit so low from the factory that I dont think itll look too high with those tires. Thats my opinion at least. Check out all the pics on GMFullsize and Im sure youll find something youll like.
  17. Well I found my DREAM truck about 9 hours away. Its a Blue 2006 GMC Sierra crew cab vortec max. Gray heated leather and a sunroof with 40K miles for $25,900. I called the dealer and found out that there is a deal pending right now due to some financing problems for the potentially new owner. I was told the salesman would know Saturday if the deal goes through or not and if I am able to get 2nd dibs on it. Im crossing my fingers. I havent found a truck EXACTLY how I want it, ever! I cant believe I found one and am pissed that it could get away. Wish me luck.
  18. Do you have anything done to the truck now? If I were you I would do longtube headers, CAI, vette servos, shift kit 456 gears and a custom tune. that should get you moving pretty good. If you still arent happy, then a cam and a stall should get you from A to B a little quicker.
  19. when I wanted to take my 3 inch body lift off I didnt have the stock stuff so I just bought a 1.5BL and put that on instead. That way it came with all the parts needed but it was still much shorter. 1.5 body lifts dont look too bad and if you look around, a company might even just have a 1 incher.
  20. So if something stupid like a steering wheel control switch went out or the gauge cluster, a tune most likely wont be an issue? My truck is lifted with 35 in tires and 456 gears; I have Longtube headers, CAI and a custom tune and I get 14 MPG with my 5.3. I wonder if I wasnt lifted if Id see a good 2-3 or 3-4 MPG difference.
  21. Wow, you get 16mpg with your 6.2? Thats pretty good. If you tune it you void your warranty im sure, right?
