  3. Hey guys ive been off here for a long time. Been through a divorce, The LQ9 didn't like the boost i was throwing at it and decided to be a maraca instead. Well After almost 2 years I got my truck back from the builder. The truck runs fine and ran pretty good. there was an issue with the shift cable that happened at the builders. the tab on the cable broke and wouldn't allow you to find park.

It still drove fine. I was out for a short drive and on my way home the truck quit shifting into everything but 1,R. I made it home after a while and parked the truck. I installed a new cable and the adjustment seems to be right.

So here's the issue and the question. After messing with things more, the trans will sometimes find 1-2-3, but then sometimes it will fall out of 3rd and go to second. The transmission was scanned using a Snap-On Solstice Ultra, and no codes were found in the trans at all. The fluid isn't burnt either.

Does anyone have some addition trouble shooting advise? I was thinking about unhooking the cable from the transmission and just using the lever on the trans to shift it into drive and see how that goes.

Mod to the trans are TransGo HD2 shift kit, corvette servos, large add on trans cooler and a 3200 stall. If you need to know its a 2003 SSS AWD with the 4l65e

  4. Decided to build a 370. Stock crank, scat rods, king bearings, diamond FI pistons, custom grind cam, melting oil pump, trunion up grade, PAC springs, and all of the other goodies I had before. Stay tuned for updates after the engine is together

  5. I thought this was super88 racing lol. J/p. good kills man, atleast the Tbss guy recognized and gave u thumbs up,unlike the pony u killed lol

Yea the last couple cars I killed didn't do anything either. Maybe because they are so butt hurt they got owned by a truck!!!!!!!!!! lol

  6. Maybe it was a 366 BBC! LOL, good kills. Your truck sounds like it runs well.

    lol

My truck still need some more fine tuning, but I do hold my own on the street. Hopefully next weekend i can make a few passes down the 1320 and post up some proof of how well my truck runs.

  7. nice kills! Thanks

What mods do you have? All bolt-ons.................. ;)

I like how he had to tell you he had a 366 which of course is a 6.0L, I never hear people talking in cubic inches anymore unless its a non stock engine! Yea he made it a point to say it was a fully forged 366 lol.

  8. Last thursday I was headed into town and rolled up on a TBSS. At an Idle i could hear the cam, so he rolled his window down and was telling me it's a 366, heads, cam, 3200rpm stall, AWD with a D1sc on 5lbs and a conservative tune. We were messing around and went from about a 30 roll, I pulled 1.5 cars and was slowly pulling away up to about 80. He pulled up along side me and chucked up the duces.

After my appointment in town I was heading home and the same dude in the TBSS pulled up again and asked if I wanted to chat. So we pulled over and were talking. Come to find out his truck runs 12.4 here locally, but his shift points are at 5k because he runs out of fuel......He is on the TBSS forum. And told me after we ran he called his buddy up and said it was time to do some more mods!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I left work and stopped at the gas station. When I was leaving I could hear someone pulling up to the light driving like an a-hole. so I decided I would bite and chase him down. Turns out to be around an 02 GT mustang, we went from a 55 roll, I pulled 2-2.5 cars on him and slowly pulled away up to over 100. then I slowed down, he pulled back up next to me and just continued to drive normally. I then turned around and went home.

On my way home a Co-worker called me and asked if I was racing a mustang. I told him it wasn't a race lol.

  9. Found out Zippy sent me another updated tune. Now to make the trip to Havelock sometime soon. I hope the fuel curve is better because the truck is really fat on fuel up top and sometimes rolling into the throttle it gets really rich. But over all the truck runs very well. I am pretty sure I need to get a new water pump and change out the plugs too. Maybe this weekend but we will see when i actually figure out what all of the plans are. Debating on going to a car show in Greenville this weekend..................

  10. Now that you said you want to buy parts for now and a future build, and you said a 408. Is that going to be NA or FI? The 102 is still overkill and even if the 408 was FI but I don't think your going to lose power but your not going to gain anything either. Your engine can only process so much air at a time.

  11. I'm not beating my truck with the ac on. And there is zero indication the ac clutch is going bad. I think I'm going to have a custom tensioner pulley made at the machine shop with some lips on the ends to prevent the belt from walking or jumping off.

  12. There are trucks that make over 800 rwhp that still can't out flow even a 90mm TB your truck on 10-14lbs should be mid to high 600 maybe touching 700 hp but unlikely, a 102mm is just a waste of time and money. Especially if your forced induction. Air is Air. and you don't have enough displacement to need a 102 unless you just want the wow factor. Personally I would have the 317's worked on a little like minor porting and blending the bowls stainless valves, springs, ect.. I would spend money on rod bolts, head studs, LS7 head gaskets and all the stuff to run 14+ lbs without any worries, maybe an intake and no bigger then a 90-92mm TB.
