  1. Wasn't sure where to put this topic since there really isn't an interior topic. So now that my truck has a black and white theme on the outside I have been thinking of changing all the leather to black and painting the plastic trim, door panels etc to black with some grey. My whole plan with this truck is to make it look like it came that way from factory. I think it would really match the paint job. Now just wondering if anybody else has changed up their interior and if they have any ideas or advice.
  2. Looks good till you see the truck from its side. If I were to do it I would have to extend the sides to match the bumper cover.
  3. Thank you. Yeah this guy has a shop he is trying to get his name out there...i'm sure once more people see his work he might raise prices. Not as sharp as yours but i'm working on it slowly but surely. Thank you!
  4. Yes sir! I don't believe in half ass work. Bed, door, fenders and hood all came off to paint it right. He charged me $2700 for the paint job. I thought it was a damn good deal. I LOVE the white on this truck it looks really great and stands out.
  5. I don't want to take nice pictures till after I take the truck back in a few weeks to get cut and buffed. By then i'm hoping I should have my ISS wing and have it painted and installed. Once the truck is all buffed out and looking good my painter will put all the emblems back on. I'm really happy with the outcome so far.
  6. I average a speeding ticket a year it seems like. But I have never been caught doing anything more the 10 mph faster then the speed limit. Like people have stated before there is a place and time for everything. Don't get me wrong I do street race here and there but only because I know we can get away with it. I work in a refinery and being able to drive around is a must so I can't afford to loose my license, we have to show proof of a valid license every year at work. We do own performance trucks and you do acquire a heavy foot but be safe and have fun. You want to go home the same way you left, in one piece.
  7. White will drop panties for sure. Can't wait to get my baby back from the shop!
  8. Damn hurts to see a SS banged up like that. Glad to hear she is up and running and everything is good again!
  9. I have had that happen to me no kidding. But this was my truck back then
  10. Mr. P I don't know you since I am fairly new here but just by reading what you post and seeing the info you have shared I can tell that you are sincere. I may not have much planned for my truck now due to other projects I need to complete first but I love to sit and read and do my research and in that sense you have helped me out already. The automotive industry and those of us who haven't been doing this for a long time need people like you who know what they are talking about and aren't afraid to help out or share their knowledge. I am glad to see you back on the forums and hope to continue to learn more about these trucks. " I came to quickly realize that there are two kinds of "automotive enthusiasts", those that genuinely LOVE car crafting and grow and learn from it as a life's pursuit and in turn give back, and others that pretend to love car crafting to use as a guise to get free parts and labor to accomplish the 4-wheeled rolling billboard used to advertise their ego. " Myself being apart of a car club I can tell you that I know exactly how people can be. I have seen guys come and go who only use us for what we can provide. The good thing is that there are still plenty of sincere people out there who love this hobby or lifestyle genuinely. Alex. People will always have an opinion. I know I find myself giving my opinion all the time to people when sometimes I really shouldn't but what counts is that we do what makes us happy. When you do something to please others you aren't pleasing yourself it's a fake sense of satisfaction. The problem with some people that I have noticed is that in their mind some think they already have the answer and when you tell them otherwise they get offended.
  11. I've been looking into this mod also. But everytime I read something it's different info. I agree with AugustBurnsred19.
  12. I am the second owner of an SS. Back in 2003-2004 I was still in high school and these trucks cost about what my parents made in a year, so It took me almost 10 years to get the truck i've always wanted. The first thing I did when I brought my baby home was jump on the internet and did some research. This website has been very informative for me and I have learned a lot from just spending time and going through the pages and threads on here. I may be one of the few who doesn't as many questions because at the moment I have no major mods planned to my truck and the few mods I do want to do there is already plenty of info out there. I see both sides of the story as a newbie here on the SS forums and a 7 year member on low rider forums. The same repetitive questions do get annoying but then again from issues like that great ideas like a FAQ section arrive. Maybe send a note to new members that they need to introduce themselves and to spend some time reading before they post. Pinning popular subjects is a great Idea and patience on the veterans parts plays a big role also. This forum has been a great learning experience for me again without me posting much because most of you guys have been doing this for years. I agree with a FAQ section or just pinning popular issues or questions in their respective areas for all to see when they first enter that topic.
  13. 14" wire wheels for my 70 impala. And a pizza for me .
  14. Costco buys gas in the open market. It doesn't mean that they are buying the shittiest gas out there it just means that they are looking for the best value. With that being said I have no problem running 91 gas from costco but everytime I do which is not often because of the crazy wait times I add Techron additive before I fill up. Buying Costco gas doesn't mean you are getting cheap gas, what happens is that every company has commitments that they need to fullfill so sometimes they will produce more then whats being sold or not meet demand and that's when a company like costco takes advantage and gets a good deal on Gasoline that is just sitting in a tank at that companies location taking up space. Essentially the gas you buy at costco may the same gas you buy at Chevron, ARCO etc. Companies like Chevron, ARCO, Shell, Conoco 76 etc all make the same gasoline basically ( Now I am speaking for California but i'm sure it applies to the other states as well. ), the major differences are the specifications each state requires. In reality the Gas made for California is cleaner then whats being produced for Arizona or Nevada for instance because California is very stringent on emissions. The other main difference is in the additives, companies like Chevron use " Techron " which has been proven to work so thats what I trust. Shell's " Nitrogen inriched gasoline " for instance makes no sense to me and the engineers I work with. It all sounds good to the normal consumer who has no idea what they are talking about. Here is a fact, Nitrogen is what we call an inert gas. When you add nitrogen to a room full of Oxygen the nitrogen displaces the air leaving it inert in other words the less oxygen you allow into a combustion chamber the less power the ignition of that air fuel mixture will be. That's what would happen if they added enough nitrogen to their gasolines. But since it's all meant to sound good you are basically buying the same gas from Shell that you bought before. Not sure if its all useless knowledge and maybe I wasn't specific enough. Grumpytony - Valero isn't the best gasoline made in our area because they run very cheap and dirty crudes which are hard to clean up enough for Californias standards. It's not bad Gasoline because they still have to meet the same criteria as everybody else but just saying that I would rather run ARCO or Chevron in my truck.
  15. Yup lol. Me and my truck spend quality time!
  16. I have SSSNCHA on my truck lol. Why not use VENOMSS? Or how many letters are you allowed in Texas?
  17. You know....atleast nobody can say i'm a bandwagon fan lol.
  18. Just passed 70k on mine. I plan on driving it so I'm not worried about the mileage, building cars requires the use of a truck all the time so it's my daily driver. Takes me everywhere and tows my toys around to shops etc.
  19. I would have to pass. I already signed up for 2, didn't know there was one on here last year.
