you should also keep 1 extra cog belt for tvs. order one from joe @ LC32. I had one come apart thank god I had an extra one
Thanks.
I emailed Gates about their "racing" division. They have blue timing belts and serpentine belts up to 80" for imports and whatnot. But nothing for my application. They don't even offer 8ribs in their "racing" belts. Lol

Ok, got the worst news possible. The truck has a burnt valve over cylinder 6, which now has no compression. Looks like an engine rebuild for me. Any suggestions on how I should approach this. The truck has 223,000 miles on it, so I am going to completely rebuild it.
Bad luck dude.. But nows the chance to build it up how you really want it. Just depends on your budget and how fast you want your truck back on the road.

Hell yeah man! An LS3 would be sweet. Itll save you a lot of weight dropping in an aluminum LS3 over the iron LQ9. And a 376 with LS3 heads and full bolt ons will be a powerhouse. Perfect platform for a blower later on
The LS3 longblock will drop right in. Itll bolt to your trans and your truck accessory drive will bolt right up. Just reuse the truck motor mounts of course. Im not familiar with the 06 SSS. Not sure whether its a Gen III like my 03, or Gen IV. If its a Gen IV (cam sensor on front cover and 58x reluctor), it should plug right up to your harness too I believe. Just need a tune and you should be golden. A Gen III is also doable, you just need a crank sensor converter harness from 58x to 24x and do a little bit of other wiring. Ive never done it myself, but theres lots of info out there.

Summit fuel hose then?
Yes sir!

that the trickflow steam vent kit? looks very similar to mine. i think mine was the model before this one as it was almost a year and a half ago...
The only thing I used from the trick flow kit was the 90 degree fittings. Lol. The kit was pretty much junk. I used summit -4 braided line, "shark" T fittings, and 3/8 band clamps.. Turned out ok I think.
Trick DOES make a nicer kit that comes with braided line and whatnot. I recommend getting that kit instead of the cheap one I bought. It didn't even come with the male fittings that connect to the steam ports on the heads. And those were like $14 a piece!

Got my parts back from the anodizer today. I'm REEEALY hoping to get this baby finished this weekend so I can go to the track Sat. the 21st
Pretend to be sick and work on our truck all day and get it done.. I was "sick" yesterday. Was in the garage from 8-6.. Haha. Got lots done

Haha that'd be just perfect! Might have to grab one and put this one in the back seat as a spare.I read some were that GATES makes blue racing 8 rib belts .
Fragola fittings. They come in like 4 colors. I highly recommend them. They're very easy to build and swivel 360*. Only downside is they're $20 a fittingsorry if I missed it.. what brand fuel fittings and hose are you using ? thanks
I looked around for a little bit looking for a nice coil bracket. Found models for $150+ all day long.... Got these for $50 from ICT and they're awesome. Sturdy and they polish to chrome with no effort at all. Here's a link to the eBay ad. Or you can get them directly from ICT.Killer coil brackets. Please tell me where you got them

Painted the overflow bottle to cover the ugly yellow color.
Im going to hit it with some emery cloth and spray it with another coat. Its got some runs, and I painted outside and it started to snow...
Now if I could just figure out why it looks crooked.. I played with it a bit and it doesn't seem to sit flat unless I add spacers under the pedestal.. The previous owner must have thought it looked off too.. He put spray foam behind it to keep it upright. So needless to say I pulled all that out.

Made the front and rear crossover pipes for the steam vents.
Rear crossover tube installed. The center section is plumbed forward
The steam vent stays tucked under the injectors and connects the to T that connects the front crossover to the rear.
Pics of the front crossover.
Then the blue hose vents the steam system back to the radiator.

Sounds like he REALLY wants to sell it...

Sure!Hey MID12sSSS, got a link for that deal on those calipers? People are always asking about the cheapest place to get them and that is by far the best price I've seen.
If anyone else is looking for brackets, I still have more brackets ready to go.
Here's front passenger caliper for $273
http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-172-2574-Original-Equipment-Passenger/dp/B007QBJQFG/ref=
Front driver caliper (currently out of stock) but is $230
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007QBJQ10/ref=ox_sc_act_image_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Driver rear for $212
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007QBJRFK/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Passenger rear for $206
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007QBJRV4/ref=ox_sc_act_image_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
You could pick up the other 3 now, then snag the drivers front when it comes available. Get all for just over $800. Found a few guys on LS1tech that have been grabbing these cheap on amazon. When I was in the market, the drivers front were in stock, but i didn't have the cash. Lol. Keep checking back.
Best price I've found anywhere... Next best is $1200 a set off eBay... Still beats like $2400 from dealer.

I know 90s would solve the issue. Just debating if it's more work than just mounting it down low...
-
-
Yeah. Well the flat bar on the bottom isnt all that's going to hold the cooler. Im also going to attach two more mounts to the top. The flimsy part is actually the factory bracket. But angle iron would probably be better... Hmm.. It would solve the plumbing issue mounting my heat exchanger down low instead... I'll have to do some thinking.
-
I think the quick connects work on these.. I might order it and give it a try. Worst case, I'll have a shop weld a small elbow on each fitting...
I think I might call in sick tomorrow and put my trans in.
-
Well, by simply flipping the factory bracket upside down, it lowered the cooler right where I wanted it.
However, now I'm dealing with clearance issues... Here are the ports for the cooling hose. Both are 3/4" ports. And the hose obviously won't make those angles..
I may be able to move it forward just enough to fit 90 degree elbow fittings on. Then I'll be in business. Anyone know if these will fit?

No. Rudy doesn't include the banjo bolts and crush washers. I picked them up from a local Chevy dealer. They aren't expensive, but I don't need them, so they'll go with the brackets if they sell.
But he does include all the mounting hardware you see in the 3rd picture, which I have. This kit is new in the box. I can open it and take pictures of the exact kit you're getting if you're interested.
You can visit the Z06 brake install thread or PM Rudy for rotor and caliper numbers to complete the conversion. I found all four Z06 calipers on Amazon for $800.
That's the cheapest I could find.

Maybe you can clean the Hood Next
That's 1 year of dust!!! I don't wanna mess it up now.
That fluidyne looks awesome mounted behind the grill! Got to love Alaska and the rock chips, although it happens with age on any vehicle it seems.
Yeah. Goddamn rocks... Oh well. I'll get it fixed.
