  1. Open till noon.

Ok. I'll give em a call tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll get lucky. Thanks Justin. We'll have to do some wrenching on your truck once life slows down a little bit. I know things have been hectic lately..

Just find a junk ford harness at your work and barrow some wires out of it lol! I have an extra cutup LS harness I borrow wires out of when I need them.

Yeah. I've been keeping an eye out. We don't ever replace entire harnesses though.. I'll snag a harness if I ever get the opportunity.
  2. Well, after calling/driving all around town, no one has 20g wire... Wtf..

I had a Napa say "Yeah. Come on down. We have 20g wire in all colors. Good polar wire. High dollar stuff". I drive over and all they have is 18g... Idiot.. So I guess I gotta order 35ft or so in every color I can think of.

And of course some nice Techflex split loom of all diameters... Looks like i should have planned this out a little better. Won't be doing much wiring this weekend... I guess I could slap the trans in... If I could find a trans floor jack. That 80 is a heavy SOB. Used to be able to do the 65 by resting it on my chest... The 80 is a completely different story.

I leave for Portland Sunday morning. Will be there until Tuesday afternoon. Maybe I can buy some wire there and accomplish something when I get back.

  3. A guy Is building me a 80 retired old timer, owned a transmission shop for 35yrs has work on a lot of 80s over his time, fully built, shafts, 36 sprag element, clutches, bands, etc..... engine 408, scat forged crank, mahle forged rods, Ross forged pistons, trick flow LS3 ported polished heads, and tvs2300, maybe some method also....it will all be studded, ATI 8rib kit, looking to get around 700-800rwhp....you know, nothing too much ha ha ha

    Meth*

    Big $$$$

  4. My DD ran like shit when I bought it. Got it for cheap and limped it home to fix it up. Had multiple misfire, fuel trims way off, and idled like crap. Took a brake clean can and sprayed around intake, throttle body, etc. When I sprayed near throttle body it'd stumble really bad. Replaced the gasket, and reset KAM. Fuel trims were much better and it idles awesome now. Just an idea. I'll keep brainstorming. Haha

  5. Hmm... Fuel trims are off... Burnt valves... Running pig rich... I assume fuel fouled plugs.. All on the same bank... I'd throw a oxygen sensor at it. The sensor may be crap, thinking you're lean, so it's over fueling to compensate. You could swap the front sensors left to right and see if the misfires follow to the other bank? Or just throw a known good one in and see how she runs.

I don't care for "shotgunning" parts at a truck hoping to fix the problem.. But without running the proper diagnostics myself, that's all I can suggest.

And I think you might get lucky. If the "Bank 2 sensor 1" O2 sensor fixes the issue, then I'd go through and put fresh plugs in it. Cuz like I said, I'm sure they're fouled out.

  6. Right on! It's always rewarding to clean up the wiring, just pay close attention to the grounds as I'm sure you know. Did you find the nice braided split loom I mentioned or are you going to run the plastic regular stuff?

I'll use the braided fabric loom you mentioned. I had a bunch of super 88 at the house and just decided to get a head start.
  7. Yeah. See the packing blankets under the garage door?... I tried chipping a path for it to drain out of the driveway, but it keeps freezing and backing up and flooding into the garage. It's back to being -20 here. So the packing blanket is a giant ice block. But the garage it warm...

    Started my wire tuck today...

    Let the fun... BEGIN!!
