  1. The truck was dyno'd yesterday on a Dynojet 248 and the numbers have me scratching my head a little. Baseline numbers were: 170RWHP 157RWTQ Those just seem pathetically low. Like 6 cylinder low. Don't most of these 4.8's put out around 220 or so RWHP? Post blower numbers: 313RWHP 358RWTQ My installer explained that this particular Dynojet consistently reads about 10-15HP lower than others and that my wheel/tire combo is responsible for another 20-30 HP loss. Does this sound right? At any rate I picked up 143RWHP and 201RWTQ. The Maggie TVS1900 more than doubled my TQ. I don't have the graphs yet but when I do get them, I'll post them up. I'm picking it up on Sunday morning and driving it home from McKinney back to MO. Sunday evening I'll post up some driving impressions and maybe take some video. My goal is a solid 500RWHP so it looks like I have my work cut out for me. Cam Heads Pulley swap And a different Dyno ha ha. That is all for now.
  2. Very nice build. Really inspiring.
  3. Not out of the realm of possibility my friend.
  4. I live in the modding mecca of Branson, MO. LOL. There are so few options in Southwest MO. I know the owner of Whiteside Customs and I'm on a short tour right now that went through McKinney so I dropped off my truck this past Sat evening. He installs 4-6 Maggie's a month and has it down to a science. He sent me pics and a short video at 2:34 PM on Sunday showing the SC running. I'm giggin in AZ right now and then swinging back through Dallas on Fri and them picking up my truck on Sunday.
  5. Thanks all. Down the road I plan on installing a Corsa side exit catback. I may do a cam and some heads and change out the pulley to up the boost. Would like to have an honest to goodness 500RWHP truck. Katskin interior SS or RST instrument panel Full repaint with stripes.
  6. With the stick, it stays with a stock v6 Camaro from a dig up to about 70-80 then the wind begins to take its toll. On hills downshifting into 4th is a must.
  7. Hi all this is my build thread. I purchased this truck on Jan 5. It was a clean non smoking truck with 148k miles on it. It took a while to find a 4.8 with a manual. That is what I wanted. I was also open to a GMC but honestly the more I looked at the Chevy, the more I liked the cat eyes. The truck I found had 20" wheels and a Flowmaster weld in. I'm not sure which muffler it is but it sounds pretty good. First order of business was removing the chrome wheel well trim. Not my taste. Luckily there wasn't any major corrosion underneath the chrome trim. I purchased a Magnuson TVS 1900 SC a couple of weeks ago. It was installed in 5.5 hours by Whiteside Customs in McKinney, TX on Superbowl Sunday I also removed the bumper last Thursday. I purchased a steel Street Scene roll pan from Summit Racing that is being prepped and painted as I write this by Whiteside Customs. They are also installing a set of ceramic coated Pacesetter LT's/mid pipe-not my installers first choice he wanted me to go with KOOKS but that's all I can afford at the moment. He has a different name for the Pacesetters lol. Truck should go on the dyno Thursday or Friday and I'll report back in a few days.
  8. Everyone has a bad day. I guess it was this poor sap's turn. "Honey you need to come get me at the car wash....no I can't explain right now....just come and get me."
  9. Sorry to hear about your truck being stolen. Too many idiots with zero conscience. Hope you get a good resolution to this whole thing.
  10. I'm not asking for a freebie. I'm working off an iPhone and the photobucket app. Is there a way to tell the size of a particular pic on my iPhone? I'll take some pointers if someone's willing to give them. Want to learn something and expand my computer hacking skills as they currently suck. Thanks.
  11. I had shorty's a CAI and a Magnaflow on my 98 5.0 Chevy truck and it sounded kinda just meh. I just bought this 04 4.8 Chevy and it just has a Flowmaster weld in on it and it sounds way better. I like how the Corsa's sound on the LS3 Camaros. I'm eventually going to replace entire exhaust with LT's, HFC's and a full cat back. What are ppl's thoughts on single exhaust or true dual with x-pipe?
  12. I exited the freeway and came to a stop at the light. The inside lane was occupied by a nice looking 12 Ford F250 4x4 with bigger rims and tires pulling what looked to be a 10-12' enclosed trailer. It was a nice looking rig. We were both turning left. The streets were basically empty. I thought nothing of it. I was with the missus. Certainly didn't expect him to try anything. As soon as the light turned green his rear tires squealed. I took off too and kept my truck in 2nd gear rounding the turn. His lane discipline was good-that was my main concern making that left turn. We both punched it. His exhaust easily drowned out my Flowmaster and I could hear his turbo spooling. I'll be darned if he didn't stay right at my back bumper up to about 70 or so and then he gave up and I shut it down. So in reality I got walked by a big heavy diesel lol. I'm going to guess that his trailer was empty. He did have an exhaust and he was probably tuned. My TVS1900 can't get here soon enough lol. My wife thought it was fun though and thought we kicked his butt. I didn't say anything. I've only had this truck for two weeks and that was my first stoplight derby in it. Kinda goofy but I thought I'd share.
  13. I know, right? It's like a car accident. You know you shouldn't sit and gawk at another's misfortune, but you can't NOT look.
  14. Everyone keeps talking about how Ray Lewis deserves another ring which he well may but I'd like to submit that Moss deserves a ring too. Future HOFer for sure. Having a ring would make his career all the better-Straight Cash Homie. Frank Gore deserves a ring as do Justin Smith, Dashon Goldson and Patrick Willis. I wouldn't mind seing a Harbowl. I think ATL is going to be tough at home in the dome. West Coast teams always seem to struggle in EST games. Hopefully that won't be the case this weekend. And I hope Crabtree didn't cook his own goose.
  15. I'm new so sorry I missed your other thread. How much did you get the rig for? Looks good. Which motor?
  16. Ganbatte, Tokusuke San. Where in Nihon are you from? I lived in the Osaka area about 24 years ago. I fell in love with the Skyline GT-R when I lived there. And to the OP: very sorry for your misfortune. So glad the perp was caught and that your truck was recovered. Seeing your pics, I'm relieved the damage isn't worse. At any rate, having your property needlessly taken and damaged is never fun. Good luck with the restoration. It's a nice rig.
  17. I know you sold the grill but I have a question: Would you or anybody else know whether or not if that 06 grill fits on an 04?
  18. Welcome. Good luck with your search. Any particular color?
  19. Nice. Looking. Truck. And I think it's cool you drive that AWD beast in the snow? Where did you get your roll pan?... very nice.
  20. Thanks JB and mugg. Not sure which wheel you're referencing but the wheels on the truck are MB Motoring-not sure which style-tried to find them on their website but no luck-prolly out of production. The Camaro wheels are just the stock 20" 2010-2012 Camaro wheels painted.
