I'd guess your driver's side will measure a little low. That bolt seems backed out quite a bit more than the other side to me. It will handle better and your tire wear will improve if you're level. Everything helps

I'd park the truck on level concrete and measure from the lip of the front fender to the ground, on each side of the truck. This will give you a fairly accurate height measurement for each side. If both measure the same, you're good. If not, you should jack up the front of the truck and tighten the torsion key bolt on the side you want to raise (or loosen the side you want to lower). Keep track of how many turns you make on each bolt, it might surprise you how much you can lift or lower the front of these with a few turns. Don't forget to jack up the front of the truck to take the weight off the keys and bolts if you tweak it, I've heard of guys breaking the bolt heads if the weight is on them. Maybe spray PB Blaster or WD 40 on the threads a few times the rest of the week just in case, and check it out on the weekend. That's what I've always done if I adjust them. I remember doing it for the first time 19 years ago on a '95 Z71, haha. You could also sit in the driver's seat and have someone else measure the heights for a more accurate reading, haha. It is more important that it's level and aligned with you in it right? The bolts underneath will rarely match, and that doesn't matter at all (unless one is going to fall out).

Yea, I ended up doing a more precise comparison side by side with proper inflation, and the difference was about 3/8. So it will abide.

How far would you guys drive on the stock spare? I just got a flat too, and I see that my stock spare is almost an inch shorter than my 4 stock wheels. Seems to me I shouldn't run it for long on the back, and not at all on the front.

Painting the vents on the bumper dark grey to match would be sweet.

Well, it works better than advertised. I'm using it from now on in all vehicles. Two friends have also done it with results. My Yukon XL is running like new again, and the average mpg is 7/10s. That's with corvette servos added last week, and reeaaally enjoying driving it again. I recommend it to anyone, especially high mileage vehicles, or even temporarily as a cleaner, lubricant. -
2 Cycle outboard engine oil as a fuel additive
Airborneninja replied to Airborneninja's topic in General SS
I added 1 ounce to every 4 gallons of gas in my SSS and Yukon XL yesterday, and if it works I'll do it permanently. I'm keeping track of the mpg to see if it rises over the next few tanks of gas. It seemed smooth on the 45 minute drive to work this morning. They say it could take a few tanks though to really notice. -

Anyone else heard of this or willing to try? -

Yea, it seems more known at least among the diesel crowd. Canadian, yea haha I read the first few then the last few to see it has withstood the test of time. It was some convincing stuff, and it seems like it has. It does sound odd, but if you read it... -
Anyone here ever heard about this? I ran across a few several year old forums discussing it, in everything from diesel trucks to Camaros, so I searched here and found nothing. I think I might try it in the SSS and the Yukon XL. The original post I found at LS1.com has over 50 pages of varying positive results, but after stalking here for the last few months I trust you fellers. Just wondering if anyone has tried it or does it regularly. Here's what I believe is the OG post from a guy called Sarge that seems legit. http://www.ls1.com/forums/f48/been-testing-oil-91206/ Love them pics

Installed new tie rods. Night & day difference
Airborneninja replied to Airborneninja's topic in Suspension & Brakes
After the alignment and rotation, it's a night & day difference. Handles like new. I forgot to mention that I figured out the problem with the steering from searching old posts on this site. I've read a lot of other great advice here too, and I will continue. Thanks everyone. -
I put on new Moog inner and outer tie rods, and I can actually steer in reverse now! Before it would just bind up. It was pretty bad at really low speed in drive too, and the inner boots were torn from the last guy over-greasing them. We all love pics, so here's the truck with the new tie rods and alignment! lol

After reading this, I'm going to gut my cats asap. I can't wait to hear it and smell it.

Ditto on the Corsa Sport. Best exhaust I've ever heard, and dead silent when cruising.

Welcome from NE Ohio

Hahaaaa! The rust-o-leum won't work? I could just spray them while they're on the truck!

LilEz02, I'm actually from Portage County and I lived in Streetsboro at one point. Got out of the Army and moved back closer to Cleveland for work and stuff. Hope to see you around. ssBLACKEDOUTss, thanks for the link! It's actually the same spot my search led me at work today on my phone. Lol Everyone else, Thanks for the welcome and the knowledge. By the way, it's still cold and raining so the hard tonneau is gonna sit for a little bit.

Looking at getting my first hand gun
Airborneninja replied to Blick05SS's topic in Firearms & Hunting
Anyway, whatever caliber you are comfortable with, I'd recommend a Springfield or a Glock. Glocks have a more extreme grip angle, but they're comparable.
