  1. I have a fully built 60e in it now. I will be sending trans back to builder for a refresh, and he wants to put a 2.88 gear set in it. I think that's what it is anyway. It'll take a pretty big bind off the trans on the launch, and give me a lil better holeshot To be honest, i'm at the point to where I want to prove a point with the 60e. Or with Robert Godfrey's transmissions anyway. I know that it's impossible to make hard parts harder, and I know that it is not unbreakable... But guys.. I give my truck absolute hell on his trans. AWD, 22's, and hit it with 175 off the line for SEVERAL BOTTLES.. I KNOW its over 600awhp when on the bottle. I constantly give it hard downshifts, shift into 2nd in the bottle spinning all 4, I mean I really beat on it. And when I settle down and take the lady out to eat, it drives and shifts like a cadillac with trans temp never higher than 140. That's pretty good considering its like Africa hot in south Louisiana. I'm gonna let him do what he wants to it for the new motor, and I hope to report back here with a awesome time slip running his 60e.
  2. I sure hope so man. Its gonna be a pretty penny by the time its done
  3. Well guys, New build is underway.. The old setup is currently a stock LQ9. TrickFlow 225cc heads FAST 102 intake 228/230 .585/.585 112 YellaTerra 1.8 rockers 1-3/4 longtubes 90mm LS3 throttle body Completely built 4L60 with Precision 3400 triple disc. Siemens 80lb injectors Full Nitrous Outlet kit with dedicated fuel cell. I cant figure out why the truck just wont run. Ill have it running good, and after a few miles after reflash, it'll start surging, running bad, trying to die when coming to a stop. Pull over, do a write entire, reset fuel trims, and do crank relearn.. shes good to go for a while. I think the intake is the culprit, and tuner somewhat agrees. Current setup has went 12.008 on 150 shot straight out the hole. Best of 13.2 on motor. Now for the new!! I contacted Zippy about going faster, told him my budget, and this is what we have come up with... New LS3 block machined to 418ci Forged rotating assembly Piston squirters Carb style intake with elbow and 102mm TB PRC 265cc LS7 style heads 1-7/8" headers Big ole' nasty cam Spec'd by Zippy Whole bunch of nitrous. 2.88 gear set for trans (i think), and a refresh Walbro fuel pump Aeromotive regulator Probably NASTY PERFORMANCE'S billet rails The motor is 95% paid for, and builder is working on it. I don't have any pictures of the engine yet, but as soon as I get some from Zippy, I'll upload them here.. I plan to clean up under hood while motor is out. Not that its nasty under there, but y'all get the idea. New fender liners, polished firewall, painted frame rails, etc... Zippy has high hopes for it, and he's never steered me wrong, so i'm pretty excited. Still trying to decide on what longtubes, and how to get a fuel pump in the tank. I guess ill chop the bucket up like everyone else. That's all for now guys. Ill update soon.

Yea man... It's 10x worse when you just built a motor and can't even get it to start because of throttle body lol. I'm trying to figure out what 102 I'm gonna buy for new motor right now. I've even thought about converting to cable Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Describe this sound? Loud buzzing/grindy kinda sound? Clear the REP and it stops? If so, as I was talking about my expierence with the TPIS TB on L8erbro's thread... My TPIS did that alot.

Actually, That's the only bad thing I've heard about the NW throttle bodies. But I don't plan on going boosted. I'm going to try and make positive manifold pressure with a nitrous bottle That was a little over a year ago. Sucks about all the trouble man. The GM 90mm worked so good, that's why I never even thought about throttle body again. It was like magic when I plugged it in. When I had the TPIS, I would install it, turn key on, press pedal to see that the throttle body moved and operated.. everything would be good. Start the truck, and as soon as it fired off, the Reduced Engine Power would set in and every code that has anything to do with the throttle body would set. The manager of TPIS told me that they must have been setting the TPS wrong inside of the throttle body before welding inside. He was getting aggravated with me calling and complaining, so I just got a refund. No problems since.

Actually, when I got the TPIS, I bought the LS2 throttle body from Scoggin Dickey for the core. Had them ship it to TPIS. After the 4th one, and I still couldn't drive the truck, I called and spoke to Jim (I think) and had them refund my money and send me my core back. So they sent me my core and I haven't had a problem since. I actually have Zippy building me a new motor as we speak. It'll be a bigger cube motor that will need the 102mm throttle body. Guess Ill try the Nick Williams. After the 2nd throttle body from TPIS, I also started to notice the build quality was going down. Huge gaps on one or the other side of the blade, screw heads stripped, even got one that was dirty almost like it was used. I mean who knows, it may not have been the throttle body. But all I know is when I put an OEM one on there, I had no more problems.

Zippy and I fought my TPIS throttle body for 4 months after I finished my build. They sent me 4 (yes 4) throttle bodies and not one would let my truck run. Limp mode every single time. Couldn't even back it out the shop. Had a friend come over, borrowed the throttle body off of his vette, and bam! Problem solved. I called TPIS, got them to refund my money, and send me my LS2 core back, and zero problems since. I won't ever refer anyone to them for a throttle body. I went through the whole ring.. The x-link guy, then all the wiring, changed the pigtail at the throttle body, everything. Nothing would fix it. Was the throttle body the whole time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fastest NA SSS

Thanks man. Zippy is building the new motor. Will be an LS3 based 418. 265cc LS7 heads, carb style intake... etc, etc.. Hoping for good results.

    Fastest NA SSS

Yes sir. Sure did. Never got it to run right. Was TrickFlow 225's with FAST102 and cam/1.8 rockers. I just never could get it to run right. Dyno guys, and tuner think cam may be cut wrong. I'm aggravated with it. Just dropped a pretty penny on a new long block. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anxious to see the results. I'm having a new motor built right now. Hoping to beat that record. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm in for one if I don't have to win the lottery to buy it. I vote studs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Mine does same exact thing. I think the wiring under drivers side is worn from seat moving back and fourth. Try this: Start by moving seat all the way forward, or all the way backwards. Once you're there, begin to move it towards the other direction and turn the seat heater on. As long as you are moving the seat, the heater will stay on. 3 seconds after you stop, it'll turn itself off. I found somewhere in here that someone replaced the Harness under the seat and it was fixed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. I'm 500awhp and spray a healthy hit of nitrous off the line on top of that with a 3400 precision converter on 22's and haven't had a problem with my trans. I used Robert Godfrey AKA "transbuilderguy". Cheapest price is ever imagined and a solid fricken trans. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Maybe check the output of the alternator to see if the alternator itself is fluctuating. If not, may have a battery trying to quit on ya Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I think after a few miles it'll be ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. hey! I got a Titan lol. Nice kill! I got my SSS finally up and goin yesterday. Lookin for some new orleans Mardi Gras action today! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I pulled my transfer case, then pulled trans. There's an O-ring between the transfer case and tail of trans. $3 at dealer. And it's a good time to put some fresh Autotrac in the case! Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Butte Louisiana? Email me if so. [email protected] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I used the Tru Cool 40k and the install kit from time2kill. Installed and plumbed in literally 20 min. And with 9.5" triple disc 3400 converter, my trans never breaks 150* Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
