  1. Mine has 178xxx on it now so I'm guessing everything should be gone over. I can't really afford downtime on the truck so I was hoping for a used one that would get me by while I have the original one rebuilt.
  2. The one on my truck is pretty shot at this point. I'm guessing either the viscous clutch is rolling around in the case or it's a stretched chain. Anyone have a used one kicking around in good shape? Price shipped to Connecticut.
  3. Had a local shop throw the lines in. They did it for cheap and it was easier for them with a lift than it would have been on my back. Only a few hundred to throw them in. The guy who did the work said these lines are nice and work well. He had to bend them in a few places to match up to existing ones. Makes sense. No one is going to ship them with crazy bends.
  4. Corvette all day long. Post pics of whatever you get.
  5. The inline tube kit might be a better alternative than GM just because it sounds like a more complete kit. On mine, I had to fab up 3/16" line that goes from the splitter on the back axle tube over to each caliper. The GM kit looks nice and at $70, it was a good deal. Even still, the lines that come with it need to be modified to fit correctly, so if you want the true headache-free experience, inline tube is probably the way to go.
  6. Sounds SICK. Looking at getting one of these setups too.
  7. I figure this setup should fit my 2002 SD, right? Seems to be stupid high for price. Anyone have one used they want to part with? LMK.
  8. I found the GM kit that fits specifically on my truck. 22933211 Not sure if these fit SSS, guessing they would if you have the extended cab. GM now makes 60+ configurations of pre-bend hard line with nylon coating for the 1999-2007 trucks. Very pretty kit. It arrived yesterday. Although it does not include the 3/16 line that runs along the axle to each rear caliper (guess that will be easy enough to fab myself). The vendor was Goodwinparts on ebay. Very nice shop to work with. I highly recommend them. The parts arrived a day after I ordered them. I assume GM finally caved because of all the complaints about safety issues with lines blowing out so it seems like they started making these kits recently. HTH
  9. Good stuff. By chance, did you need to drop the gas tank or lift the bed to get at any of the line? Mine might be different than the SSS. Thanks bud.
  10. Looks like I have one or more ruptures in the line at the rear of the truck. I have a kit ordered that is supposed to fit perfect. Looks like there is some line that runs near the gas tank that might be a huge PITA to replace. Anyone replaced their brake lines here? Curious how you went about it and any problem areas.
  11. Gosh that is horrible. I know GM had serious issues with paint failure throughout the 90s. The most typical ones I've seen are black cars with the clear receding (failing) and white cars where the paint just flecks off in sheets. To me, this is unacceptable no matter how old the truck is. These SSS trucks are top of the line Silverados and very well-kept by their owners. Clearcoat failure shouldn't be an issue regardless of where the truck is when it has been waxed and maintained.
  12. Sorry bud. I already grabbed some Cardone ones. Installed now and painted on truck. Can't believe no one has bought yours yet.
  13. Not sure if this guy is possibly on the forum. Beautiful truck. Dark green and had amber bulbs for DRLs. Looked pretty sinister.
  14. Damn. Wish I saw this auction sooner. Could have used these. Best of luck with sale if they aren't already gone. Great deal, IMO.
  15. Like previously said, it is tough to get traffic on a niche vehicle site where those vehicles are beginning to age. I've noticed this with a few of the sites I'm on. Still check back here once in a while to see how everything is going regardless.
  16. Thanks for the info. Definitely not bothering with chrome finished ones in the Northeast then. Good luck with the reps. Post pics up when they installed!
  17. It's got everything... from the chrome door handles, to the riced out tail lights. lol
  18. I originally bought a set of DDM HIDs about 6 years ago for my old car. They were having a sale for $30 for the kit and I couldn't say no. Those were nice so I ordered a set for the Denali (lows and fogs). The kit that came was absolute junk. Both lows were giving me trouble. DDM's return policy is horrible. DDM likes to act like they are the only game in town when you start asking questions about why their equipment doesn't work. They have the worst customer service I've experienced. I would never buy HIDs from them again. I will say that their LEDs are nice and somewhat affordable if you want to deal with the long wait... so I can't completely badmouth them. For HIDs, I'd go with retrofitsource for expensive, but nice ones. If you want affordable, shop around on ebay. I got a replacement set of HID lows for the Denali and they've worked flawlessly for over a year. Not only that, the vendor had very superior service over DDM. If you want me to post the vendor, I can. Bottom line is that you can get cheapie knockoff HIDs from anywhere these days. DDMs quality has gone down to a point where their product is no better than something you could get for the same price or cheaper on ebay. If you order from a US seller on ebay, chances are that you would receive the kit way quicker than you would through DDM. HTH
  19. That's horrible. I'd want to string that dbag up, for sure. Sorry to see that. You might want to make friends with a body guy at the shop you bring it to. A lot of those guys will moonlight and paint things on the side for a fraction of the price. I assume that yours is so expensive because more than one panel will need to be painted in order to blend the paint in. I learned this the hard way a few weeks ago when I had a local shop do some work for me. Goes without saying, the wrong shop will make your vehicle look worse than it did when it went in. And here I figured black is black is black is black (WA8555). But that isn't the case. lol
  20. Fun car. W-bodies make reliable transportation with enough oomph that you don't have to feel like you're working too hard to get up to speed. The L67 is no slouch for what the bottom end can handle stock. I believe ZZP had their turbo monster in the 8s on stock bottom end. Not bad for launching a wrong wheel drive vehicle. It's sad GM gave up on the turbo route after the GN. I believe the L67 could have been a lot more fun right out of the box had it been turbo. The M90 runs out of steam quick and just becomes a heat trap when you drop pulley sizes beyond 3.0". I have a 2001 Regal GS that I've spent some $$ on. Few pics of mine. Has heads, cam, exhaust... lowered with projector headlights I did myself. Throwing a Statamma T70 kit in the next few weeks. That should wake it up a bit. Sorry for thread hijack. Always fun to see w-bodies floating around on another forum.
  21. I finally got around to dropping my spare a few days ago. Wasn't as bad as I thought. And, it was aluminum, which was a bonus. Leaving it off for now while I blast any surface rust off the frame down there and POR it. I got AAA, so if a flat happened, I'd just call them-obviously needing a flatbed for it.
