  1. Well I'm glad I asked then, y'all have convinced me to do no less than 2800, starting to lean towards 3. Future plans are hopefully supercharger if money ever permits it. But that could be a long time.
  2. That's the problem though, I have no experience in choosing a stall or how it will drive or anything so I don't know if I want smaller or not
  3. Yea I'm waiting to hear back from him about it. Just figured I'd get some opinions on drive ability from everyone.
  4. I will be installing a stall in my truck within the next few weeks. I would like some of your experienced opinions on what size to go with. Was thinking about a 2600. Truck is my daily driver, don't tow often enough for that to affect choice. Also probably a high possibility will be installing a fast system soon if that will affect choice. Mods are listed below. Thanks guys
  5. already replied to your zippy thread, but you just need to keep calling him. It wont bother him, he knows he forgets to call people back and wants people to call more than once since he will forget. He is extremely busy. I sometimes call him 5 or 6 times a day to get a hold of him. I just talked to him yesterday by the way so he is not on vacation.
  6. I just talked to him yesterday. Just keep calling him, I know you may think your bugging him but he will even tell you himself that if he doesn't return your call its just because he is so busy and forgets. Half of the times you call he is most likely already on the phone and then when he gets off he forgets that he even got a call and doesn't look. And if you don't talk to him regular like some of us then he doesn't have your number saved so he always has a long list of random numbers that have called throughout the day and doesn't remember who is who. Just call once every hour if you have to, he is a very nice guy and it will not frustrate him
  7. That is why I said not sure about that method on or trucks, but that method has been very popular on larger engines where the pushrods are almost the size of our cams! Lol
  8. not sure how reliable this is on smaller pushrods such as whats in our trucks. but I work on 18 wheelers and an old fashion way of checking the push rods is to drop them on the floor, concrete or something hard, about 10 in off the ground and should all have relatively the same sound. if one is bad you we hear a definite difference in the sound it made
  9. cool, sounds good to me. keep me filled in on whenever your going
  10. o trust me I know, lol. It is the next mod on my list. actually coming very soon
  11. cool! closest person ive found so far. Ever go to the Millington track? Don't really have any of my friends into the modding and racing thing
  12. I am driving out in the am to head to ohio for work and was wondering what the weather and roads are like near there. getting horrible winter weather here. gonna be semi close to Columbus.
  13. Yea I've heard about those problems on the butterfly style. Think I'll just go ahead and spend the extra up front and make sure they don't leak, such an awful way to mess a beatiful sounding exhaust is with a leak
  14. lol I had already watch the same video. definitely pricey but like stated above I like how they open, they seem to be built good quality
  15. looked up the dougs on summit. they have the dual kit with everything needed for $475. does that sound reasonable or have you seen better prices on them
  16. Looking at getting dual cutouts for my next mod. Which ones are all you guys going with and where are you getting them from. thanks
  17. haha, no way I could ever say anything like that to the cops around here!
  18. i just don't like the sound it has from bouncing off the ground. but don't just take my opinion cuz im sure there are some mufflers that would sound good dumped. just none of the ones ive heard. most people that due the fan conversion start by looking at junkyards and stuff and take them out of silverados the same model. i think there are some out of Camaros that will work but not certain on that. theres a thread on the site about which ones to use and the cheapest route, just have to find it.
  19. if you have a lil extra i would consider electric fan conversion too. yours being 2003 it should be a clutch fan
  20. sounds good to me, I personally don't like a dumped exhaust. as far as the drop hopefully someone else will chime in, due to me not being done with go fast mods i haven't gotten to dropping mine yet.
  21. I personally would wait on converter until a cam install, but that's just me, yes definitely do long tubes and muffler of your choice. I prefer no cats, some will agree some wont, we all have personal opinions on that. yes plugs are always good to do on a new truck since you don't know when they were last changed. with how cheap it is to do servos I would definitely do it. shift kits are a great improvement to your trans. and without a doubt do a custom tune.
  22. if you are still stock no reason to look at getting injectors right now unless you plan on doing forced induction at same time. I would start at basics with cai, full exhaust, and a custom tune from someone on the site. I have zippy my self and love it. after that is spent if you want to spend more $ I would look at a cam swap. just my opinion though. like stated above some would rather do things for looks but I as well like go fast mods.
  23. Between me and the wife together were getting back $7200 wonder how much I can get away with spending on the truck! )
