  1. Hmmm, well mine are dual in, dual out. Sounds nice , I'll need to install resonators to silence the drone at highway speeds. I'm curious if the TB will make a difference when I get tuned? Thanks for the reply Chris

    Lucky Me

Hey everyone, I was looking over my SS tonight and I found 2 mods already installed. Apparently I have a BBK Power Plus 80mm TB and Flowmaster Mufflers ( Couldnt tell what series, there really small though). Are Tb's worth much power? Also, do the SS's have factory Y pipes off the headers? I ask because when I looked at mine its true dual. Thanks guys
  3. I just bought mine today from New level motor sports for $299. Cannot wait to install it!
  4. I found this article http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticles/0505st_volant_air_intake_system_chevy_silverado/viewall.html about the Volant CAI /w scoop. Are these accurate numbers to you guys? Thanks again.
  5. What are the other "great" mods? From what i've read, a tune and headers seem to be at the top. What do these trucks run stock in the quarter? 15.5's ish?
  6. By intake, do you mean CAI? I've been trying to search what their worth power wise. Headers as best i can tell are worth 15 to 30ish? CAI around 9? Feel free to correct me if im wrong. I've been talking to someone at excelsiormotorsports. Their site claims 30hp and 25tq. That being said their headers are $1500.00. Speaking of cost, Is there something wrong with Ceramic Pacesetter headers? Quality, fitment issues? I really cant justify spending $1500.00 when i can 400+ on the others. Are CAI's a worthy investment on the 6.0? I know 1 mod usually needs the other in most cases. I'm just curious if the 6.0 can use it. Thoughts? Thank you guys
  7. What about the Granatelli MAF's? They claim decent hp gains. Anyone know if there true? They also have "MPG Plus" wires. Snake oil or real product?
  8. I knocked mine out of my 2002 GTP and it never hurt anything I may have even gained a little being it was supercharged. I did'nt think it would make a difference but i wanted to ask anyway. Thanks JC0355
  9. Awesome, thank you. Being in the midwest im leaning towards stainless. I was able to find Dynatec but i cant find ARH. Are they on Summit racing and im just missing it? What numbers are guys seeing with the headers alone/ with a tune? Is there a certain brand of High Flow cat I need to be looking at? Thanks Johnny
  10. I figured as much. Thank you for your input. No its not tuned yet, I just bought it last Wednesday. Currently im looking into headers but theres soo much info. I just want to know how much power they make and what brand to buy. Ya know?
  11. Hey guys. I was checking my air filter last night and I noticed a honeycomb looking filter before the MAF. I assume its for straitening the air flow to the MAF sensor. It looks like some CFM could be gained by removing it. Has anyone tried this? Should it be done? I tried searching for this but I was unable to find anything on it. Thanks everyone.
  12. Never mind, I found the article about them. Would i be correct in stating that headers are the best "bang for the buck" mod for an SS?
  13. Sure does.. By the way, I'm researching headers. Is there a particular brand that you all like? Im finding huge discrepancies in pricing on these. Advice? Is it safe to assume there's already a thread about this? Thanks for the advice.
  14. This is my first truck so you'll have to excuse any ignorance. I assume it would be used for better ride quality?
  15. Sorry , i should have specified. I mean air bagged rear suspension. There are air bags above my rear leafs and a air port behind the rear license plate.
  16. Thank you for that. The dealership is paying to get it fixed at the local Chevy dealer. I understood it to be a "lube pack" issue. On a different note, did our trucks come with factory air bags in the rear?
  17. Thank you! So i bought the SS. So far im very impressed. As long as she's reliable I'll be very pleased. Thank you far all your advice. Now if i can just find the proper mod page...
  18. Will do. So i drove it today and the only odd thing i noticed was a slite "knocking" in the steering if i turned the wheel while going over a bump or something of that nature. Unusual or normal?
  19. Awesome, thank you for the advice. I'm going to try and drive it tomorrow, we'll see what happens. Hey, what gas mileage are you guys getting with yours?
  20. Great, thanks for the reply. When you say the trans is the weak link, how weak are we talking? I'm not planning on supercharging it or anything, just basic bolt on's. Can it handle that? Thank you
  21. Hello everyone. I'm not sure if this is were i should be asking this ( it may have been asked before), but im looking at purchasing a 05 SS and I would like to know how reliable these trucks are( everything Ive read seems to point to good), are there anything I should look out for when buying and are there any issues ( i.e recalls, etc.). Thank you for your time gentlemen.
