  1. Hey guys, I'm starting to get tired of the Flowmaster Super 10's drone on the highway so I wanted to know what you all are running. Weirdly enough while researching mufflers I came across several forums that showed guys gaining a little power switching from a flowmaster muffler to a magnaflow. Would anyone else agree with that? I know that magnaflows are strait flow through mufflers vs the baffled flowmasters but I don't know if that would make enough of a difference. Thoughts?

  3. Thank you. I was able to get it to work today though there were 2 pids that said they weren't valid. I emailed to BB. I hope I got everything they needed.
  4. I need help with my BB scan tune. I received my scan cable from BB. Loaded the software but when i try to set the pids to what the instructions show, it tells me its not a valid pid? Ideas? I tried making a new thread but something was up with the forum and it wouldnt let me.

  6. Hi, as of today i cant seem to make any posts or threads. I attempted to make a thread for my BB question and got an internal server error. Then i adding to one of my previous posts and after i click on "post" in the lower right corner it just states "saving post". But it never completes. Is there an issue with the forum today? Thanks How i just made this one i do not know..
  7. Sooo according to that article, having the tailgate up was better for mpg but it says they later re-tried the test and the mesh worked better.
  8. I don't just yet. but i am getting tuned by BB (whenever they get me the scan cable). Im curious if they'll program that in? None? Not in 1/4 time or speed? I kind of figured that over 75mph there would start to be some serious drag with the gate up.
  9. By the way, When you guys race, do you run the tailgate up or down? Mirrors in? What about the tow/haul mode, should that be used for racing? I've been debating if that would make a difference. Thanks
  10. Thank you for the information Zippy. All that research is great but it would take me awhile to try to find the people this guys tuned and work all that out. Ive heard nothing but good things from Black Bear and after thinking it through I'm going to have them do my tune. I hope when its all said and done I can be one of those guys saying " Night and Day difference"
  11. There were a couple of mods on the truck when i bought it. BBK 80mm TB and dual flowmaster super 10 mufflers. I added the Volant CAI with scoop. When I talked with the shop today, they said they couldn't even get me in until July 21st because there that busy. To me thats kind of a good sign about their business. But I'm sure I can have BB do it well ahead of that.
  12. I contacted them today. They told me that re-tunes are free for me because I can use the dyno. ( They only have a 2wd dyno)
  13. I really have no problem with BB, I just wish they were more local. Unfortunately there no where near me. Thats now to say i can't/wont do their scan cable tune, however if the person @ Sho Me Speed is capable, I don't see why i wouldn't use them.
  14. Sorry, i forgot to mention that it was 10 yrs of experience they claim to have with LS motors..
  15. I'm checking into it but according to what Ive found the shop specializes in LS motors and has done so for 10 yrs. I'd like to think that makes them pretty good.
  16. I know that, What i'm saying is that the shop uses HP Tuners.
  17. What about HP tuners? Theres a local shop " Sho Me Speed", that uses it. Their shop has some pretty high ratings and their cars are ridiculously fast at the track.

  21. So I raced again tonight. 14.8@ 90.29mph. 2.16 60'. There were some changes though: first i had a full tank of 91( last time i had a quarter tank of 93) and it was 85 degrees( I think it was closer to 70 when I made the 14.9 run last time). I think if I can repeat the same variables first time I raced, I should be able to pull off a 14.7. Does anyone know how many miles it takes for the truck to "learn" its new airflow with the Volant?
  22. Very nice. So why does this exist? I can only assume that it can cause damage to the drive line once removed??
