  1. Alright, so the problem is fixed. The re-calibration of the HVAC unit corrected the a/c issue. They had to replace the fan "module" for lack of the correct name ( cannot remember) to fix a fan speed issue. Apparently the Gm software monitored the fans on Max at only 78% of full. Replacing the module corrected said issue. So.. $575 clams later I'm back up and running. I suppose it could have been worse.

  2. Yes it is. Scratch what I said before. The shop tried a new module today and it didn't work. Instead they calibrated my old HVAC module with some GM software they have and now have gotten it to consistently work. The last thing their working on is ( through the GM software) they can see how well the HVAC is running( as im told) and they tell me the fan on max is only running at 78%. Other then that everything back to normal. I'll let you know what I find out next week.

Is that just the piece that controls the a/c in the dash?

  3. Well I took it to a local shop. They informed me that the climate control module is whats causing the issue. ( BTW, the air started blowing again on the way to the shop for whatever reason). Im looking at $760.00 clams. :puke: Assuming that does correct it, im afraid that when I replace the battery this is going to happen again. :tear:

  4. hmm... only other thing that I had happen to my a/c was it would only turn on when it was on max. I replaced the blower motor resistor. Like a 20 dollar part.

Here's a link to replace that

Thank you very much, I'll take a look at it when I get off work.

  5. Here are a couple links with detailed pics and instructions on how to change out 2 of the 3 blend door actuators

http://www.sparkys-answers.com/2011/02/2003-chevrolet-silverado-changing-mode.html (this is on the driver side of the center console if the a/c is stuck blowing in one position i.e defrost only)

http://www.sparkys-answers.com/2011/03/2004-chevrolet-silverado-dash-cover.html (this is if the passenger side is blowing out hot air)

If the driver side is only blowing hot air this actuator is on the passenger side under that black cover under the glove compartment.

    Hope this helps.

I appreciate it a lot thank you. Did you read my last post? Now I cannot get any air to blow from anywhere. . I also hooked up my code scanner and there are no codes. :wtf:

  6. Well, I tried this: Start engine, turn off climate system. Stop engine. Turn key on, but do not start. Leave for 10 seconds. Turn off and pull key out of ignition. Leave out for 30 seconds. Restart engine, turn on air conditioning. Now I have no air blowing whatsoever. What the hell man..

  7. Adjust your slides and listen for a clicking noise behind the dash. Mine did the same thing about 4 months ago... I refuse to move them now. I hear changing them is a pita.

Slides? Mine has the 2 round knobs for each side. I've never heard them make any noise. I've completely disconnected the battery. I'll let it set for an hour or so then I'll try the actuators calibration.

Ya my passanger side went out one day and was stuck blowing hot air full blast. That's the one that takes some time to get to, but it's doable. There's a good write up somewhere on line that I followed and it worked perfect. I'll try and find the post and get the link up

Awesome, I really appreciate it. Ive been looking all over for some concrete evidence on a fix for this.

  8. Could be your blend door actuator

Do they suddenly just go out? I at least has drivers a/c before I pulled the hvac fuse. My a/c has been awesome since I bought the truck. There hasn't been any signs of it going out (hot and cold air randomly from what I've read). How do I fix this?

  9. Hey guys. I installed my new PCM last night and today only my drivers side a/c worked. I tried finding something on it. One of the truck sites recommended pulling the HVAC fuse for 30 or so seconds. After I did that now I have no a/c, just hot hot air. Please help!

  10. Hey all, I'm going to be doing a tune up soon and I wanted advice on plug wires. I already picked up the NGK g-power plugs. Should I stick with AcDelco wires or are there better brands? My Oreilly's has the "performance" set of MSD street fire wires for $40.00. Their AcDelco's are around $7600. Thoughts?

  11. You don't know there is more power on the table. What Justin said is simply a guess based on limited data. Not every truck is the exact same and even the same truck side by side will run different.

Did you consider track temps, air pressure, engine temp...blah blah blah blah.

Bottom line is you have a basically stock truck with a tune that you have very limited track time behind to make a judgment call on the tune that has been provided to you.

By the way the best bang for the buck by far is a converter. The SS trucks are pigs and it takes some RPMs to get them out of the hole.

Go out and get some real seat time to figure out what the truck likes. My guess is a few trips to the track in good weather and you learning how to drive the truck down the track the way it wants to be driven will yield better results.

Learning how to drive the truck?? Theres nothing to do without a stall. I tested "pre-loading" but it actually hurt my 60'. If you have more advice on how to race the truck beyond that im all ears. Apparently Justin does see that theres a little more left on the table seeing as how he's sending me another PCM with a modified tune.

  12.

    My thoughts exactly

I would see if we were trying to get to 9.99 or something.....but a coule tenths still in the 14's.... :uhoh:

Simply because I want to get my money's worth. You can't tell me that if you knew there was more power on the table your wouldn't want it. Just saying :peelout:

  13. Hey guys, Ive been looking for a chin spoiler lately and I think I've found it. It's part# 10386198 ( correct me of I'm wrong). I've found it on several sites but the picture they show doesn't always look like the same part. Does anyone have one of these? If so please let me know where you bought it from.

    Thanks guys
