  1. For headers it really depends what you want to spend. On the cheaper end their is pacesetters 1.75 for 400 or 1.875 for 500, then there's the too of the line American racing headers that will run about 1100. I personally run pacesetters as a broke college student lol. They work good though and still sound great. For a cam, there is a variety of choices. I have a 220/224 on 112 from trickflow in mine and it has power everywhere up to 6400. For a radical-street able cam though, I might set my sights on the 228r or something around there, especially in a pickup. Don't forget with a "radical cam" you wil need a different converter. I have a 3200 in mine that might be a tad big but with a bigger cam you may need a 3600...there are alot of vendors that do cam kits at really nice prices and have sales every so often. As for your exhaust its all what you want out of it, I have a dual setup that would be true minus the x-pipe muffler. I would say some 2.5 inch true duals sounds good.. It did on my last truck. I ran two magnaflows abs had 0 drone. But it's all about your specific setup... You are going to need tuning for sure. How many miles on your truck? You may want to consider an oil pump, and with a big cam, a ls2 timing chain or completely new setup. You should also plan on doing good pushrods, and valve springs. If your looking bang for buck I hear texas speed is having sales on headers and cam kits. For the exhaust you could piece it yourself if you're so inclined, which will be cheaper, or you can order a kit. Hope I didn't forget anything. I'm sure others will chime in
  2. Ford= d*ck suckin POS lmao you guys seen the amiri king videos? I laughed so hard
  3. Id be pretty happy with 450rwhp NA... for right now. Lol. I have bigger injectors otw so I'm hopin to hit that mark by February/march when I have collected the rest of my parts. Well I checked out your profile and saw you have the 228. I bet that thing sounds beautiful
  4. Oh. Awesome to hear! I'm still kicking around whether I wanna toss boost on at some point, though I understand what your saying about the ls6 chambers helpin out. if i decide to go all motor ill prolly end up going with the PRC casting with the 65cc chambers. If you don't mind me askin, what cam are you running?

  6. Being as untalented as I am with computers, I'd prolly call EFI live and see if they can get you squared away. Seems like a very frustrating ordeal
  7. Good to hear!!! Now just gotta figure out that stinkin EFI live.
  8. Sorry for the late reply, but I did divide the .1. I trusted the checker lol when doing my check the intake seemed to be about .01 shorter than the exhaust. Intake was about 7.265 and exhaust 7.275. So I went with the 7.35 for .075-.085 preload. With my firewall insulation removed I have the slightest bit of sewing machine, but I turn the radio on and it gone haha if I did it again I'd try .050 preload just for the hell of it. It has 550 miles on since the swap.
  9. So from what you've told us I gather that the program downloaded as expected. But when hooked to the truck started acting funny And you couldn't collect the stock tune due to this.. Now you have a shudder that may be a miss or maybe TC. I would assume your truck didnt act up at all before this incident. This is a puzzler for sure. Can you tell if your truck is in reduced power? Maybe the ECM had a closet issue, but with the computer pretty much disabled now idk. Would the ECM have enough power to mess with computer or did the computer mess with ECM. Was the ECM already tuned? Idk why it would cause this, but just trying to get more info
  10. Damn man. I hope you can get it figured out. My boss takes his in and out of the shop and we've been about 15* lately. Does the computer have to be online to download that stuff, it almost seems like a virus. But like I said before I am no wiz
  11. I may end up just going tbss intake and tb with bigger MAF.
  12. Anyone running a set of PRC heads? Can I get your opinion on them? I'm thinking heads and intake next. PRC seems to have the best bang for buck ported 317's but I was also wondering about experiences with the PRC as-cast heads. I know AFR is legendary along with TEA, and possibly TF, but these are so expensive. I'm not going max effort, just more power for the $. I'm thinking of doing the stage 2.5 6.0 heads with shave to 68-69cc along with a port matched fast 102, NW 102 TB, and a 4" MAF. The as-cast heads unported flow more cfm than the stg 2.5, but cost about 350 more. Worth it? I have 1 3/4 headers, which I know 1 7/8 would be better at the point and I'm willing to swap. Like I said, think bang for buck please. Thanks in advance !
  13. I just want to say that your best choice is not the same best choice for everyone, and that's the point I'm trying to get across. I aim at no target other than equality for people's opinions and ideas
  14. If you did that in a ford you'd prolly plug your F*****in fuel filter

Nice, my co worker DDs one of those. The thing boogies.
  16. I would "probably" never sell my current truck and feel the same way you do, but it seems some people don't get the attachment to their truck as we do. I like the new truck minus the steps in the rear bumper. I'd love to have a 07.5-10 duramax, but I'm a student and my conditions don't warrant that purchase at this time someday though ill have my turboed-drag silverado and a dmax pullin it.
  17. It's all personal perspective and situation. No reason to belittle anyone else's decisions. I could say, why did you go SC instead of turbo cause I think that's better, cheaper, more free hp, but I don't because that is your choice as an American.
  18. I have never owned efi live but my boss uses it. As far as I know he hasn't had this issue. Lets assume its not the software for right now... How old is the computer exactly? While the age doesn't directly matter, maybe the memory is getting full, or the hard drive is weak. I do not claim to be a computer wizard btw, just ideas. I would check to make sure you have enough memory for this program to run and save tunes. It could be your processor just doesn't have the capacity for it, but as far as I know EFI live doesn't require anything special. I guess if it was me and I monkeyed with all I could to no avail, I may uninstall and reinstall after verifying I did everything 100% correct, which I'm sure you did, but computers can be finicky. Make sure no other programs are running. I have no clue what your computer aptitude is so please excuse me if I'm preaching to the choir. Have you tried calling the EFI live support, if they have one? It's gotta be something silly.
  19. That's why I need my boss to look at the tune. He says its from the year of truck with a return style truck like mine but hes not familiar with the differences. It sucks cause sometimes I have hardly an issue and sometimes it just dies everytime I let off the pedal. I played around capping off the pcv to the intake today and didnt seem to change anything. It's obviously got to be in the tuning which will be coming shortly. Thanks for the assistance guys
  20. Definitely going with zippy. I would have the tune already but decided on a set of bigger injectors first. Lol. I talked to him about a week ago and am really pleased with what he had to say. I really shouldn't complain about the weather but 18* and snowing already. Come on lol
  21. Maybe I should just save up for a tuning system, I hate having to rely on someone else, but I've never touched tuning before other than with a carburetor and vacuum gauge lol
  22. I kept the intake and rails off of my 5.3 to put on the lq9. I thought of that too and that's why I asked him what year truck the tune was from. He told me 03 but maybe it was a late 03. I need to get him to check the IFR table to make sure, hes just always so busy and a duramax tuner mostly. first cammed ls motor hes tuned really. hes a smart guy and datalogged/tuned for a while, trying to give the benefit of the doubt lol.... that's why I want a zippy tune in the end though. It's damn cold here so the ambition to go outside is low but I'm gonna plug it and see if it helps. Might just have to wait for the new tune to see any progress.
