  1. Well...I did not have the guts to shave down the embossed logos on the center cap. So I just put the decal over it. Not perfect, but barely noticeable. I also got some shiny new lug nut caps. Tires are also in! Tomorrow is D Day! Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr
  2. You don't think the dealer is capable of better, smarter, less expensive service?
  3. Love it! You should put the center cap in. I am going with a 245/70R17 Tire. The Bridgeston Dueler AT Revo 2 has nice raised white letters. I am also thinking of getting the RBP mudflaps in all black. I am also going for that certain look. I am selling the tires but someone may be interested already. Will check with them tomorrow.
  4. They dealer is making me buy the entire harness....Autozone had one, it was just the socket where the bulb goes into, but did not screw into the light housing. I know I could Dremel an extra little notch off and make it fit. The actual computer calls for that part. Anyone else have this problem. The actual socket doesn't make good contact with the bulb.
  5. I'm towing my Malibu which is a little over 6000 lbs. no problem without the airbags. Just needed a 1 inch rise on the ball mount to get the jack of the boat trailer on the floor.
  6. Yea, weathertechs are the bomb....these were only 45 bucks and the quality is awesome...unique too
  7. Semi Gloss Factory Steel is in. Purchased new plastic lug nuts for the cap that are new and black instead of these grey ones. Also have to shave down the GMC letters to accommodate the SS decals I got from Ebay. Don't know how thick these decals are. Now waiting on the Revo 2's....cross your fingers for me Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr

  9. It really isn't a big deal. I say give it a shot ! It makes the truck look lower without having to drop it. My wheels and tires come in next week. I like the way your scheme looks keeping the silver badging and and silver ducts. I am going to tie in the wheels with the silver letter SS center cap decals on a black backdrop. I did not like the black air ducts or badging. I also really like the appearance of an AT tires without it being to Nobby. I think you really hit look I like. I went with the Dueler Revo 2. Maybe the original Duelers would have looked better or the Revo's...don't know cross your fingers
  10. It's On! We ended up using most of the lip with self tapping roofing screws that have rubber washers. The washers are a nice touch. In the corners we ended up using 3m body panel tape to close the small gaps. You could see some sunlight coming through in the corners. Then we screwed it in again. We made several notches in the lip to accommodate the spoiler. The ends to come in a little to avoid a bind. I will say it's not perfect, but pretty dang close. If you have to stare at it to look for imperfections, then it's fine in my book. It really looks great! Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr
  11. I bought semi gloss powder coated ones....still won't last forever
  12. So you cut the entire lip off except a little portion under the ducts. Having a hard time seeing it. I have friend helping me this Thursday. If you have pics or if you could be more specific. Thank you.
  13. The powder coating on the steel should help this
  14. Well I bought the part because I think it looks awesome. Yet the fit is off. Is it normal to have gaps under the air ducts. I have yet to drill anything. I got it to conform to the bottom of the bumper. I did not cut off the top clip thing. Seems like I have to force the end to conform by applying pressure then using some self tapping screws. Those gaps don't make sense. Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr Untitled by Afun2011, on Flickr Still looks really good!
  15. image by Afun2011, on Flickr image by Afun2011, on Flickr I love the look
  16. I have yet to soak my stock rims in water. The Ramos are plenty full pool of water around here. I did think about that one. Once the new tires wear out, it may be time to switch to another look.
  17. No doubt our tastes are different. Never liked the lowered look. I think it's obvious that my SS is an SS. 20 inch stock wheel and the LS2 are a nice combo. Maybe after these steelies I will go chrome...so many different looks possible.
  18. It gives it such a sporty look. I know to each is own. I have never been one for 22's or lowering. I think the truck looks great stock and with all the REPS out there. This is just a little different. Let see how it drives after the change. Trying to buy that lower black spoiler too.

  20. I went with the same wheels above. Yet the SS badge in the Center Cap will not have a red outline. Black and Silver to tie it in to the SS badging on the truck and air ducts. The wheels will be 17 x 7 and the tires will be Bridgestone Duelers AT Revo 2 or Mickey Thompson Baja STZ. Still not sure if the Mickeys are too knobby of a tire. The size will be 245/70/17. The white letters will be facing outward. That is very important to me. My FJ Trail Teams has the BF Goodrich Tires with black satin fake beadlock TRD Rims. I love that look. I also like the stock look, and replacing the OEM wheels with some black, chrome, gloss black reps. Lots of looks this car could take on. I will never lower this truck. I tow my heavy Malibu Wakesetter with it.
  21. I will do an in cab clip soon. I will post here
