  1. Yep I've got them already, and wishing I'd chosen otherwise! They're on the truck at the moment but coming off for something else. The problem is I didn't even consider the Archers because they're only shown up to 20" on Centerline's website; while talking with them about the Smoothies he mentioned the Archer could be had in 22" as well (which only makes sense.) Leaving me with the dilemma of which to choose, because I like 'em both. Richard
  2. I ran them in 20" on my '94, loved 'em, but it's definitely an acquired taste. Richard
  3. Yeah...there's some on craigslist but I'm not feeling them at all. Richard
  4. For a while it seemed like everyone was running Centerline Archers, so that kind of turned me off from them. I like Smoothies, I know a lot of people don't, my personal taste I dig 'em...they're like modern day Moon discs to me. Looking to get Centerlines for the SS and I think a set of 22" Smoothies would look sharp. Tons of contrast for the freshly painted black truck. But a set of Archers would be nearly 10lbs lighter per wheel...! Thoughts? Richard
  5. Wheels are located in Northwest Houston, TX $1000 Full details and pictures on craigslist ad: http://houston.craigslist.org/wto/5622047790.html You can reply through craigslist (preferred), or private message me here if interested. Thanks! Richard
  6. Jeezus H $2100 for a used transmission??? Around here that would get you a top notch rebuild with all the upgrades, and some change leftover. Richard
  7. They're typically referred to as "door projector lights" "puddle projects" or similar, tons of them out there, lots of different logos available and some places where you can make your own. Don't know if you'll find exactly the same as you already have, but here are some Silverado SS with the correct (or at least close) style font for the SS; most of the others I saw are different. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-Silverado-SS-LED-Logo-Door-Projectors-Ghost-Shadow-Lights-Emblem-Puddle-/171934802567 edit - seller "lumentrendz" for once the auction is no longer viewable. Richard
  8. The OEM Escalade handles I just bought were painted black already, out of the box. Richard
  9. Yep! C'mon with the pics! At only 30K it's sure to be a sharp-looking truck. Richard
  10. Just cruised his eBay store; lots of parts (about 1700+ items) but nothing SS-specific at this time except the SS dash insert. Man, was hoping to find a treasure trove of SS goodies. Richard
  11. Thanks! The painter threw a few more misc. pics up on his facebook page, so I snagged 'em: (he did adjust the bedside cladding bracket a little bit after this pic) Richard
  12. Zombie thread from the dead! Yeah those couple of used ones on eBay are probably the best bet vs. a 6 year old thread! Richard
  13. Nothing wrong with stock hoses as long as you buy a recognized brand. The originals may be fine for now but they do eventually go bad, just trying to save you the hassle of having to bleed an ABS-equipped brake system all over again when the time comes. When the hoses go bad they cause calipers to seize up due to restricted flow, pulling to the side, burning up pads/rotors due to the caliper dragging, etc. Braided stainless is a nice upgrade but in real-world terms doesn't make a difference in how your brakes work. Some believe they give you better pedal feel but I seriously doubt anybody is noticing a difference between stock and braided, on a vehicle that has power brakes, driven on the street. I am pretty certain any difference they notice can be attributed to fresh fluid and a recent bleeding. Richard
  14. Seriously...replace your flex hoses. They're really inexpensive and they do go bad. You'll have the whole system open anyway, do the flex hoses same time, that way you won't have to bleed it all over again later when you do find yourself replacing the flex hoses because you didn't at this time. Richard
  15. Thanks y'all; I'm really happy that it's nice, straight, and shiny again. It wasn't even in the paint shop long, I swear the guy had it less than 2 months which is pretty amazing when you consider the amount and quality of work he got done and he's really just a one-man operation. I've got the center caps back on and scrubbed the funk off the tires but no sense in taking another pic as the truck is dirty from the trip home, got caught in a downpour. Can't wash it at my house because the water here sucks. Argg! The black truck curse first day out of the shop! Richard
  16. I'm in with that statement; if it's in the truck, it's not doing you a lot of good. If you have reason and feel the need to carry, on your person is the best bet. Another downside to having it in the truck is the probability (you know it's going to happen) you'll leave it in the truck while you're out of it, which is bad for all kinds of reasons. One, it's not on you when you might need it. Two, it's in there for thieves to get to. Etc... Richard
  17. Yup...some can be a little tricky, if you need the wing I think you'll find like anyone else they are very hard to find and expensive if you do. There's a member on here making brackets for the corner pieces. There are fiberglass copies of the wing, the fit is iffy, but really any fiberglass stuff you get almost always takes massaging before it fits right anyway. Richard
  18. !!! A little ironic that the worst side, the crunched passenger bedside, came out crummy in the pic thanks to cloudy skies. Oh well! Truck came out GREAT! Richard
  19. Holy crap; I hadn't even seen this thread until today and just read all 14 pages so far. Really cool RCSB! Years and years of driving 60's trucks has made me allergic to regular cabs, when I bought my first extended cab truck I could never look back. (having to drive a regular cab all night every night for work kills me, but I digress...) I can still appreciate a nice RCSB, especially one with all the goodies this one has! Richard
  20. Lol...yeah no, no Dale mural or any of that stuff. Not ashamed to say it, I'm not a Dale fan, hell I'm not even into NASCAR. The path that led me to this truck was that I wanted a Silverado SS and I dig the Intimidator wing, so, there ya have it! Earlier I debated while having it repainted just going back with SS badges and no Intimidator scripts, but I figured after kicking it around that it was best to leave it factory so I cashed up for all the new badging to replace the old stuff. Richard
  21. Bed and rear bumper cover painted, he says everything is painted now, just sanding/buffing and reassembly left! Richard
  22. I've got my damaged cover but was saving it for the lower step pad, I honestly can't remember just how bad it is. If you're anywhere near NW Houston it may be worth checking out and we can make a deal. If you're too far to pick up in person it's not likely worth shipping. $$$ Richard
  23. This is almost always the flex hoses. Replace them both. Inexpensive, and a very common issue. Obviously you'll need to bleed the brakes afterwards. Richard
  24. All that shiny clear getting knocked down with 2000 grit before a good buffing out Richard
