Don't know which harness you got. But the one I used gave me most controls except really for mute on the steering wheel.
There's a mute button on the steering wheel lol?

The tints look dope on the SS. When you gonna black out the Camaro?

As one of the new guys, I'm glad more people are joining the site

flood lights still available?
Considering this thread is 4 years old, you probably need to contact BLNAWAY.
-
How's it drive that low? I'm considering a 3/5 drop now, not sure how it'd be lower than that.

Do you have pictures of what they looked like?

Thanks for the information. Are any of today Jimmy Jammer products any good? Also what Viper system did you have installed?
-
Where's the fun in that? We want newbs looking for parts bringing this thread back to the top for the next five years.
Ahahah true true. Alright leave it then.

This truck has been sold. I appreciate the support this community has given, you are a great group of people.
-Side note; how do I edit the OP or the title of the thread to have the word 'sold' in it?
I don't think you can edit the title itself, but you could possibly delete the thread as a whole.

Hey everyone,
I'm interested in getting an aftermarket security system installed. I've heard of the big name brands like Viper and Compustar, but are those really the best systems? I know additional security measures can be taken such as kill switches and what not, but I'll look into those later. What anti-theft systems do you all have installed and how do you like them?
Thanks.

I don't meant to take over your thread, but since it's sort of on the subject. Does anyone have a guide for how to remove and replace the Chevy bowtie on the front?
-
Thanks for the advice. I edited the OP and added asking price and location.
It was very well taken care of. I hate to part with it, but I don't have the money to swap the frame, so I hope someone else can use it as a donor.
Ah so there was frame damage then?

I have Pioneer BT130. It's tight, but it's in there like swimwear
What does that even mean? Hahah

IIRC a friend of mine in high school had an extended cab with the Bose system and to install an aftermarket head unit with the stock speakers and amp he needed an adaptor from Bose to make it all work.
I would not be surprised, Bose is pretty bad with their proprietary stuff.

sellers on ebay have said that the plugs are different for the available radios.
I don't want to buy one and find out it won't fit.
Any capable car audio shop would be able to help you with that easily. You could find one you like and then call around to see if it'd fit your vehicle. Or use a site like Crutchfield which is pretty accurate with that kind of stuff.

Good luck man, I know some of the body parts for the SS are hard to find. You might have better luck though with a different thread title. Maybe create a new one saying "WTB _______" and just insert whatever parts you need.
-
I think he wants to know which radio came in his.... there were three options if I recall. A single cd with tape deck, single cd no tape and the 6 cd in dash changer were all options......
Ah okay I see.. just install an aftermarket one
-
I would not recommend installing a sub without an amp. You're not going to have enough power really and it'll sound terrible.
-
You would want to go with the 3"
With a true dual setup would it be better to go with 2.5" or 3"?

Check out "Carven Exhaust"
I know some guys around here that are running them and they sound really good and mean.
I'm looking into getting a new exhaust setup aswell, and Carven only seems to sell mufflers that would fit our trucks, not kits.
I found these two:

I believe the head units in the SSs were the same as the ones in the regular Silverados. I'm not sure why you'd need to decode your VIN to find a stock radio, but I could be wrong.
-
It is a roughly 2 inch X 3 inch square to the immediate right of the license plate on the rear bumper. Between the plate and the right side tag light assembly. If it's gone you've got a hole there.
Ahh okay, I see now. I've honestly never noticed it before haha.
