  1. They said something about putting a new clutch in and it wasn't fully or properly broken. Something about the clutch.

You should get a rematch! My brother talks up the 5.0 Mustangs all the time so I wanna send him a video of an SS beating one haha.

  2.

I think that it's easier to make the 80 bullet proof but some folks have pretty good luck with the 60.

Swapping in the 80 is not as simple as just replacing the 60, but a lot of guys have done it and these days most of the needed parts are available prefabbed.

A mechanic buddy of mine was telling me that the 65s will hold up until you hit around 600+ HP.

  3. tvs 2300 oven driven, built motor making over 20 lbs of boost ,meth injection ,built 4l65e by FLT ,and tuned by blackbear..

How's the 65 holding up with all that power? What's better an 80 swap or building up a 65?

  4. 427 lsx with 80 swap both built to the gills by me with a d1 or bigger procharger, 2017 escalade platinum interior crammed inside with the dash and all, lowered clean but still has a muscle stance, intimidator wing, cladding on the passenger door fixed cause I can't seem to keep the damn thing on! Update the lighting on the exterior but nothing ricer, decent system and I'm good. Basically a full restoration my way.

The Escalade interior is a nice creative touch haha sounds dope

  5. 6" body lift, 12" chassis lift, 35" tires....a grill guard/front bumper from a diesel locomotive, maybe some truck nutz...ahh a guy can dream biggrinjester.gif

I can't tell if you're serious or not hahah

Whipple supercharger, full exhaust, tune, 2/3 drop with 22's replicas, a good audio system, and a complete Willwood break system. Keeping it a LITTLE stock lmfao

What do you mean by full exhaust? Like an entirely new exhaust system?

  6. The one in Cali seems a bit over priced. It doesn't have leather or a roof and they are asking top $. But low mile trucks that aren't all beat to crap are getting harder to find. For context I bought my 06 2.5 years ago with 48k and fully loaded leather and moon roof for low 20s.

So I actually looked into this truck further and they're not willing to budge on the price at all. Personally, I don't mind the cloth seats, but I do wish it had the full center console.

  7. Hey everyone,

I thought this would be an interesting topic to discuss and hear everyone's dream builds and setups. This might also serve as some inspiration to others that are considering what to do with their own trucks.

So let's hear it, what would you do?

EDIT: Title got cut off somehow, it was supposed to be "If money wasn't an issue and you could build your dream SS, what would it be?"

  8. Getting ready to retire so thinking about letting all the toys go.

Maybe I'm just young and naive, but I would think you'd want to keep some toys now that you're retired, not get rid of them haha. If there was any toy to keep, this SS would be one of them, if you can even call it a toy. It's more like a fun collectible in my opinion.

  9. I may be buying an SS from Texas, and after reading on the California DMV website it says that

"Not all new vehicles are manufactured to be sold in California. Many manufacturers make vehicles to be sold only in the other 49 states. These vehicles (49-state) are made with smog equipment that meets federal emission standards, but not California standards. California-certified (50-state) vehicles are made to be sold in California."

So I am concerned that the truck might not be California certified. Does anyone know if it would be? Or better yet could anyone with an SS in Texas verify this for me? The DMV website also said that the emission label under the hood (as seen in the link above) will tell if it is or not.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  10. I agree with Johnny, at less than 13k miles that SS is a gem. It is very very rare to find one with that low mileage. The fact that it is an 04 in Arrival Blue Metallic and completely stock makes it even more of a rare find. Hang onto it if you can, but if you really can't, in the condition it is in I wouldn't let that go for any less than $25k. Putting some sort of bed liner on it though may be a good idea if you ever put anything in the back.

  11. You could always go with cloth seats and send the headrests in to someone like Raptor Embroidery to have the SS logo embroidered on.

I've been thinking about having my seats redone (the outer edge leather on the driver's seat is looking pretty ratty) and have the headrest SS logo redone in a different color.

The logo on my seats now are pretty much the same color as the seats, which kind of sucks.

Yeah that is something I'm considering, but honestly I'm just worried about someone doing them badly. I wouldn't want to ruin my headrests or have the SS logo look bad.
