  1. HOLY HELL Bat Man!! Looks like the BEER Goggles blurred your vision long enough to miss that HUGE rock.
  2. I currently have the Corsa Sport on the SS Silverado and a Corsa on the Wife's SS Camaro and I would have to agree with the comments above. Great craftsman ship on both systems, quiet in the cab but has a nice snarl on the outside when you open it up. Even the wife's car with FLP Longtube headers and no cats is surprizingly quiet in the car but it roars like openging the gates of Hell on the outside when she really puts her foot into it. A Flowmaster 40 ( I have run 8 of them on different vehicles over the years) will soud nice and throaty but it will have some cabin drone out on the highway and especially in around town driving. Even the Magnaflow system on my father's 2005 Silverado SS has LOTS of interior drone all of the time but oddly it is quieter under WOT than the Corsa is on my truck. Some people like the drone while others do not. Personally I prefrer the Corsa for trips to work during the week but when I want it loud I hop in my Camaro SS with Longtubes, 3" off road y-pipe and a GMMG chambered cat back as it roars like a NASCAR. I just don't want to hear that every morning on my way to work in the truck. Just remember you can always get a quieter exhaust and add an electric cut-out for times when you want to be loud and shut it down when you want to take the Wife to dinner and not shout at each other. (or when the kids are sleeping in the back seat) FYI, I talked to a Magnaflow rep 2 weeks ago and he said they redesigned their exhaust as they had several comlaints about cabin drone in trucks with the 6.0L engine so maybe the drone is a little more tame now? 3. Try an Extang RT, I like mine and it will not go over the wing.
  4. Looks very nice!! I can't wait to see the new set on your Red SSS!! What text are you going to use? What vinyl are the stripes made from? 3M? Avery? Is the material cast or calendared? How many mills thick? Is the vinyl (gray or charcoal) a flat color or is it metallic?
  5. The black wheels look nice but I think the Gray ones would look a lilttle better IMO. But I don't know if they make the 6 spoke wheels in gray or just the 5 spoke ones? Comparison picture..........
  6. Do the PCM tune first it will give you a very noticable increase in performance, or better yet buy the software and then you can change your tune any time you like. Personally I use EFILive and am now on my 10th tune as I have been tweaking the mid range timing curve for better throttle response and altering the tranny shift points. It is amazing the change in attitude you can get by changing the tranny setting in the PCM The exhaust is more for looks and sound as you won't notice a power increase much w/o adding headers. The CAI is a nice little addition but the change is no were near as noticable as the PCM tune. Plus you should see and MPG increase with a new tune.
  7. Nice Pictures! Thanks for sharing them!
  8. Wouldn't you be able to just add some lowering shackles to the the 3" BellTech leaves to drop the rear even further? Assuming the Bell leaves use the stock SSS shackles.
  9. I don't know about the cheapest but these guys are just down the road. Lakeshore Wheel & Tire <<<< Link to Chrome 22" x 10" Replica wheels
  10. So basically the ride is cool with the 3" rear leaf drop and you have NO vibrations like others with the MG shackle/hanger drop? I think that is the big question everyone here wants answered.......................... Oh yeah we need pictures too!!!!
  11. This one? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What did you use to fill the gap between the valance and the silver brake duct? Piece of black foam or something else?
  12. Good basic shape, the front has an actual "hockey stick" shape which I like. The top profile looks good as it follows the body like of the truck. Don't let the front of the stick run off of the fender toward the bumper. It would look cleaner if the stripe would end just shy of the fender's lower edge and have radiused corners like on the BelTech truck. Other suggestions would be to make the width of the stripe narrower in the middle where the back edge of the fender meets the front edge of the drivers door by about 1/3 as it looks too wide at that point. See picture below I think what looks odd is in the middle as your top stripe edge follows the body line but the bottom stripe edge does not curve or flow with the top edge. Basically the bottom edge of the stripe looks to be straight from the fender to the rear door where it should slightly arc to match the curve of the upper stripe edge. Hard to say but I think you can understand what I'm saying. Keep up the good work!
  13. Not sure what you mean I always said I would make a longer version if anyone wanted one. I made the original stripe to match the camaro stripe. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At the '05 Zippy event I asked you about doing some custom changes to the stripes and basically you blew me off. But no hard feelings though, I just got the impression you were not interested in the project so I moved on. It's really no big deal. ;) As far as matching the Camaro stripes, well I understand the concept but I think the problem is taking a "Camaro" shaped stripe and putting it on a flat, square shape like a truck just doesn't quite look right as it does not follow the body lines of the truck. Nor does it fit an extended cab truck (looks wise). But that is just my opinion and your customers I talked to at the Zippy event were all happy with your product, which is great! They are just not for me. I will just wait until something else comes to market that catches my eye as it's no big deal since I'm not in any hurry for them.
  14. Looks Good! BTW which hood is that? Has nice aggressive look to it. Any progress on the new hockey stick stripes? How do you like your vent visors? How solid is the mount going into the weather strip area? I hate the ones that are stuck on to the door frame with tape, but those look nice.
  15. Stuck mine in the attic in case I want to reinstall it later and sell the Corsa when I trade in my truck someday.
  16. jboyss, sorry to Hijack the tread ........................Honestly, I got them at Nappa for about $10 each. They are called "Quick Seal" I believe. Actually most are made by Walker which can be had from many auto parts shops under they Dynomax Torctite name. They do seal nicely and allow your exhaust to be disconnected easily as they do not crush the pipe like Traditional u-shaped exhaust clamps do. Which was key when I had to drop the tranny on the Camaro to install the 3600 stall converter a month later. You can get them from Summit Racing too.... Link to Summit Clamps Below are what mine look like These with the weld on tabs from Dynatech are nice too...... Or These From Super Trapp......
  17. First off congrat on the headers! How is the performance of the truck now? More low end, top end, or both? Is the sound much louder with the headers and using the stock cats? As for the tips the angle looks good but the size is way too small IMO. You can get some nice Stainless Steel 3" or so tips from Summit for only $20 each. I run one instead of my Corsa tips in the winter to keep them nice. Many options available, here is just one inexpensive option....... Summit Tip Link Also, since your exhaust tubing is welded directly to the header collector I hope you never have to remove one header or drop the tranny. I would have either used ball flanges or just used Stainless Steel band style clamps so you can take the exhaust appart when you want to. Here is a pic of the band clamps I used on my Camaro headers (Pacesetters).
  18. Search Ebay Motors........ I saw just a Corsa Muffler for sale 2 days ago and it was brand new still. Good Luck as I sure like my Corsa Sport on the SSS and we have a Corsa system on the Wife's '01 SS Camaro.
  19. Funny, that's the pic I was going to attach to my post above. Has anyone else got more pictures of this truck? I think you are on the right track AUTOGUY, I'm just not sure what I would do up front where the "SS" is on the BelTech truck. I don't like the cut-out concept where 6.0, HO, or 364 is often cut out of the stripe so the body color shines through. That look has alway looked cheap or simple to me. I would rather see a full stripe (no cut-out or space likle the Gibbs stripe) but some type of option to have an overlay you could put on top of the stripe. Much like the BelTech truck has......... I guess that is the best way to describe it. just needs a different decal or something.
  20. Bingo! That's the truck! I want that stripe with the same tail length (goes back to the extended cab door) and the same height on the truck as it follows the body line nicely. Notice the tail does not curve toward the door handle but follows the lines of the truck. I like the fact that the front of the stripe does not run off the fender (like Craig's do) but rather stops short so the surrounding pinstripe can run around the entire head of the hockeystick. Looks more finished or less of an afterthought. The only thing I would change is make the head a little smaller in width so there is a little more space between the headlight and the leading edge of the stripe (just not as narrow as the stripe you currently have). A new stripe has to have the same transition curves between the stick head and the handle of the stripe (like on the Bell Tech truck) as that is what makes it look like a "Hockey Stick". Craig's stripes (IMO) just look like a curved stripe and not a Hockey Stick shape on the leading end . I have not tied to have a stripe made yet but if you do make some like what I described I might be interested in a set for my SSS and possibly as set for my Fathers SSS. BTW where is the option to add an attachment to a post? Do I have to enable it in the prefrences or what? I might have another picture of that truck saved I could post.
  21. Personally I like the concept of a Hockey Stick Stripe...... just not the ones you have.... Sorry, but I have never liked the ones Craig made (too fat, too short, too much tail curve, etc.). He was definately not interested in any custom changes when I talked to him so I have not bought them for my truck. The Gibbs ones are getting closer but still not quite there yet IMO. The the only Hockey stripe that I have seen that I like was on that Bell Tech truck. I would buy a set of those if I could find them available. I may desgn my own someday if they never come to market. BTW the Centerlines look 10,000x better than your old wheels! Sharp looking truck now!
