Not a fan. I'd candy the lens out to a red that matches the truck... then you've got a solid red light that lights up really bright at night. I had IPCW's on my TBSS, but they were smoked to death! They matched the rest of the truck and looked amazing!!

Yep... you guys pretty much hit it on the head... the best way to attack it is to fight it with a little chemistry.... being an alkaline deicer you just need to counteract it with an acid to make it neutral. The tricky part is knowing how much to use. I have been completely unable to figure out what the levels of the stuff they use on roads is, or if its even consistent. Its entirely possible every city/county/state mixes or buys their from different sources making it impossible to do a one size fits all diagnosis. I would suggest picking up one of those large pressurized chemical sprayers from home depot (like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Smith-190285-1-Gallon-Chemical-Non-Corrosive/dp/B002YNSADU) pre-mix a fairly liberal amount of vinegar with water and take that with you to the coin op... blast the stuff loose with the pressure washer, then treat everything you can with the water/vinegar mix, then blast again with the pressure washer. Wheels are screwed no matter what so I'd just recommend running some winter wheels. The frame and undercarriage is something you might look at having the undercoating redone regularly to give you some kind of protection. A friend of mine just had the entire underside of his truck shot with linex b/c of this... he was noticing rust even when he thought he had completely protected the underside. The linex seems to be the best (albeit expensive) semi-permanent solution.

PHEW!! Day one in the books. Today was vendor and exhibitor only... setup the booth, then ventured into building 4 for a date with a '32 Roadster and a Custom Auburn needing some love before judging in Americans Most Beautiful Roadster Contest. I took on the 32 while Marky took on the Auburn. As you can see the painters didn't do me any favors with prep on the '32 1 pass of SHR + Orange Pad on the Flex followed up with 2 passes of FMP + white pad brought the paint back to a stunning deep black I proceeded around the car the same way and knocked the rest out - one snag was the silverleaf pulling off with the tape - that will be another story for another time Divide & Conquer! There was a lot of onlookers as we put the Adam's touch on these babies: Time for a quick shot with each car and then back to the booth to pack it in for the night... tomorrow the show OFFICIALLY starts. Our boys from Oregon done good! This thing showed up sanded down to 3000 grit!! Don't worry... that yellow towel was only used to polish out some of the underhood accessories Its not done until it gets an official reflection thumbs up!

You can search the Barrett Jackson archive by make model year and class and it'll give you the results... I went back and found the final price on a lot of the trucks I liked... as it turns out my favorite one went for $55,000 - but there were plenty of other '67-'69 C-10's around $20k in perfect condition... I might have to save up and actually buy something there next year.
