  2. Long day in the garage prepping a friends truck for SEMA and a detailing tech article in Street Trucks... wrapped up just in time to go for a short drive and get a shot of the trucks together. The subject is a supercharged crew cab, dropped, wheels, custom paint job by L&G, full interior w/ ipad in the dash, complete audio system, the list goes on and on... great truck. I'll post more info about the article when I have it. Getting my polish face on
  3. Sorry for the late reply... I've been in the midst of a detail/photoshoot for a tech article that'll be published in Street Trucks in a couple of months all day. Just wrapped up an hour ago!! Anyways... the pads should work just fine with your machine (sounds like its a rotary) but you would need to order the rotary specific backing plate. They are velcro pads and they'll work just fine. I use a velcro hook and loop on my rotary and its never given me any problems.
  4. We have distributors all over the place... maybe one local to you? http://www.adamspolishes.com/showdealers.aspx

  6. The flex is a great tool, but I don't so much view it as a replacement for the PC as I do a supplement to it. I've been using it for some time now and I still much prefer to finish down with my PC.... so I'll take on the heavier correction with the flex, the forced rotation allows for the use of more substantial abrasives, ones that the PC wouldn't be able to break down effectively. But when I get down to my last stage polishing and finish work I find the PC much better for the job. Then with the application of a product like our machine superwax where you need a low speed application the Flex is just too much... the force rotation doesn't lend itself well to 'applying' a product. So in those cases I'm still going gray foam on the PC also. IMO anyone serious about detailing should have both, but if you were to only have ONE tool the PC would be my choice.
  7. Now onto the product testing. This car was never gonna win any beauty contest... 27k miles of pretty much no love / no wax in nasty colorado winters and this thing was simply hammered. Great subject to put the finalized version of Adam's Mean Green Polish thru its paces, finalize pad design, and verify the new product worked well with both the flex and the PC. So heres our subject *Warning - If you hate neglected cars you may want to look away now* Jose was kind enough to knock out a quick wash so we could get this thing inside and get down to testing. Adam took on the clay bar portion of our endeavor A couple of areas were designated for various testing purposes. Mario took first crack [ I took on a different variation on the hood Everyone got in on the testing and observations including our flex rep Once we had come to a final conclusion on product testing the car was then knocked out using the new GREEN>ORANGE>WHITE process and pulled outside for a final look. We weren't going for 100% correction simply b/c this car was a test mule, but we got it to about 85%. The heavy key marks and pitting were beyond even saving with wet sanding. After correction the car got a coat of Americana, the glass was hit with Brilliant Glaze, and the interior got a vacuum, clean, and conditioning. Jose threw down a generous helping of Super VRT on the tires
  8. I spent last week at our warehouse in Boulder Colorado. Went out for a few reasons, mainly to nail down the final version of our new aggressive polish/pad combo. More on that in a moment, but lets start this off the right way. A customer dropped this beauty off for us, we had detailed it a few weeks ago and now hes decided to sell it. Mario and I were handed the keys so it got a quick wash and cleanup then we enjoyed a jaunt up into the local hills (making sure to drive past the college ) then stopped at a nice turnout to snap pics for the listing. $150,000 and shes all yours
  9. If you experience an erection lasting more than four hours call a doctor... and a psychologist b/c theres no way either of them should arouse you

  12. Its official and I couldn't be happier. I'm sure most of you know me from my looooooooong time membership here dating back to when I still had my 04 SSS, then my 06 TBSS, and now my 09 Avalanche that thinks its a TBSS I'm also sure most of you are very familiar with my detailing exploits and all the time I've spent here answering questions, posting pictures, and detailing rides for members. Earlier this year a long time friend, Adam Pitale owner/founder of Adam's Polishes, made me an offer to come work for him full time. Putting my happiness above money I left my job to reenter the world of detailing full time and as such have been bugging him non-stop to bring on this site ever since, so here we are. As a sponsored forum you guys will have access to a 24/7/365 discount, special product pre-sales, group buys, etc. Plus I'll continue my involvement here giving you guys unmatched service, support, advice, etc. As many of you know from the other forums I rep Adam's at I'm pretty much available all day, every day, even weekends. You got a tough detailing question, need advice, or just need to put an order in for some goods I'm at your service. Anyways, I won't continue to ramble on - I'll be posting details about the forum members discount and a bunch of other stuff here today. Glad I could finally make it official and expand my role here to really help you guys out. This was THE FIRST forum I ever joined after I bought my Victory Red 2004 dream truck and still my longest standing membership anywhere. Feels good to take it to another level. Thanks guys!! Good things coming - stay tuned!!
  13. Couple of bucks cheaper over at FactoryReproductions.com http://www.factoryreproductions.com/factory/pc/Silverado-1500-SS-Chrome-c43.htm Thats where I got my TBSS 22" replicas and I couldn't be happier with the quality for the price.
  14. WOW... thats bad. I've seen some race mesh grills in person and they didn't look at all that bad, looks like yours might have been assembled at about 4:30pm on a friday - I'd have sent it back. For 5 bills you certainly shouldn't have to put up with that at all.
  15. Did someone say my name? LOL Happy to help you out if I have time. I'm on the road this week, leave in the morning for Colorado, get back Friday, then I'm hosting a Detail Clinic in El Monte on Saturday morning. I have a magazine tech article being shot next week as I show prep a truck for SEMA, then that Saturday another clinic in Anaheim... recover for a few days then I'm heading to SEMA in Vegas. Shoot me a PM and we can chat if you'd like. Or call my cell 909-821-0757
  16. Depends on the shop... when I had my stock TBSS wheels shot it was $500... but that was also hook up pricing at a shop where I knew the guys and I had them do EXACT colormatch to the body w/ primer, and multiple coats of base and clear. I'd imagine spending anywhere from $500-$700 wouldn't be out of the question. Also mine might have been slightly more b/c they had to dismount the tires, strip and sand the wheels, paint, then remount new tires. Since you're thinking of buying them new maybe there will be some savings since they won't have to be unmounted.... hard to say. I'd just start calling around. Only reason I went paint over PC is the fact that they couldn't get a PC that would match the truck exactly... just didn't have the same gloss or depth as paint so I went that route instead.
  17. You could get the chrome set, sand them and have them shot with the factory silver paint. Just a thought.
  18. I buffed it out and cleaned up over the last couple days. Had some minor swirls that needed to be addressed and RIDS likely from me brushing up against the paint when we were dropping it. Finished it off with a coat of glaze and 2 coats of paste wax...
  19. Magnaflow muffler... probably gonna lop that tip off and run something black.
  20. Sounds like the drivers side front, but hard to say for sure. I'm gonna get under it first thing tomorrow and cut those bump stops. When I got him I crawled under and it settled out, the rear is literally sitting on them, gonna cut about 2 more ribs out and see where that gets me.
  21. Need to cut the bumpstops down a little more and track down a little bit of a creak (suspect over-tightend something) otherwise ITS DONE!! Huge thanks to Chase for the install, couldn't have done it without you dude! I owe you HUGE!!
