  2. Spent the last 2 full days at West Coast Corvettes shooting the 7th version of our instructional DVD. Had a lot of fun, lots of customers dropped in either to lend a hand, watch the filming, or get themselves/their car on camera. Wrapped up late last night and we'll be waiting for the experts to work their magic editing together all the hours of footage. Figured you guys would enjoy a couple shots of what we were working with. Enjoy! Ms. Ashley Wilson, the person you most likely talk to if you call or hit us on live chat, waiting for our pizza's to arrive - cash in hand. Some of the customers who dropped by to hang out Some of our subject cars from different segments
  3. Keep in mind its not impossible, just not nearly as easy as it is with the PC.... for whatever reason the forced rotation on the Flex doesn't allow the pad to spread the product evenly. Like I said, if you are gonna go for it, just grab one of the hex faced PC gray pads for application, run the flex at speed 2 and keep the pressure light. It'll spread, you'll just have to pay close attention to it while you work to ensure even application. In the event its uneven the problem you'll run into is mostly in removal. It'll be a bit more work to remove, if its giving you problems a shot of detail spray will make it much easier.
  4. MSW is a bit of a bear to work with if its not applied thin and even... the Flex has a hard time doing that. You end up with highs and lows in the application, leading to uneven appearance or difficult removal. You can give it a shot, but just pay very close attention to how you apply it and give it ample cure time. The only way I've been able to get manageable application of MSW out of the flex is to use our Hex faced pads and a speed setting around 2.
  5. Best way to explain the difference is to have you read this:

  7. Ryan is a good customer and friend of mine. Occasionally he helps us test out final product versions from an end user standpoint. We met up at his pad while he was detailing his mother in laws tahoe to do a little side by side demo of the Flex & PC using our new Severe Swirl Remover. Enjoy. 8. Feel free to contact me if you have questions. 866-965-0400 option 3 for the directory then select my name from the list. Sounds like you have makita rotary polisher, correct? Its not that the results would be sub par, its that we don't sell a backing plate compatible with that machine. A rotary polisher is a whole different animal, and unless you have extensive experience using one to restore finishes its not a tool we'd recommend you'd go at your paint with. The primary concern is the speed at which it cuts, you could easily strike thru your clear coat and even base coat if used improperly causing damage to the finish that would require a repaint to fix. Plus its VERY difficult to finish down with a rotary, even for someone w/ experience... I've been detailing for 13+ years and I still don't finish with a rotary after heavy correction. I'll do the bulk of my correction and finish with the PC as to avoid holograms and buffer trails on the finish. Honestly, if you're finish is in relatively good condition a rotary will be overkill... the PC or similar DA polisher will be more than sufficient to correct most average paint jobs.

  11. Nice touch!! I prefer the blue on a blue truck more than black... they appear to be just a tad dull compared to the paint, have you cleared, sanded and buffed them yet??

  14. A secondary coat of MSW should in theory increase the longevity, beyond that I'd discourage it. The one thing Zaino does well is 'stack' you can apply a million layers and it stays clear... our stuff is different, it doesn't require a ton of layering to maintain and to a certain extent excessive layering will cause the finish to appear cloudy. So I'd stop at 2 as beyond that you might actually see negative impact from added layers. The upside is that a single layer in average conditions should get you at least 4 months, if not more. 2 layers obviously longer. A lot of customers like topping MSW with Buttery or Glaze... either is a good choice. I generally recommend experimenting to see what you like better... Buttery will last on the surface longer, but Glaze will produce more 'gloss' as thats pretty much the only thing its designed to do.

  16. Machine Superwax is our most durable product, and our only all synthetic LSP. Some people get turned off by its cure times, but coming from Zaino you guys will be used to that - Its a really substantial product so we recommend (and the product almost requires) that you apply it using a PC or comparable DA machine and a gray pad... hand application just ends up uneven and we don't want to set you up to fail. Once applied you're looking at 20-30 minutes of setup time and then remove the residue. It comes off easy and cleanly... on black the only other work to do is a secondary wipe down 12-24 hours later. The product continues to harden over that time and as such can re-haze a little bit... so just a shot of detail spray and a microfiber to remove any hazing and you're done. Its got a very clear, bright, high gloss shine to it. But, like most synthetics it doesn't have that warm depth you'd get from a carnuba.... to offset that I'd recommend topping it with our Brilliant Glaze and you'll have a killer look on the paint.
  17. Tuesday 11/16 - Gallon of Adam's All Purpose Cleaner w/ a FREE 16oz & E Z Fill Funnel!! SilveradoSS.com Price - $26.96
  18. Yea, if you don't need really heavy correction the SHR/FMP combo should be more than enough to get you the results you want. MSW has kind of become a forgotten product for a lot of people since we released the paste wax, and don't get me wrong I LOOOOOOOVE Americana, but theres a lot to be said for the clear, bright, high gloss shine you get from a synthetic sealant like MSW. Nothing says you have to jump in 'whole hog' either. Theres plenty of people that use our stuff to correct the finish and then top with Zaino... no sense in tossing out perfectly good products if you don't need to.
  19. Our new product would be around the 105, but not as aggressive. 105 will take out 1500 grit while ours is best for 2000 or higher... as for 205 thats gonna fall somewhere bettween our Swirl & Haze Remover and Fine Machine Polish, maybe splitting the difference.
  20. Just a quick video I put together of me starting to fix the Avalanche. Its been my tester as we developed all the new stuff so I've done a little intentional improper care, plus the weathers been crappy lately, I've been traveling out of town a lot, so shes looking a little rough. Time to bring back the shine, one panel at a time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p97TJ9gvgWk Also should mention... the sale ends Monday at midnight and is good on EVERYTHING we sell, not just the new stuff
  21. In my opinion theres 2 types of materials that are safe for drying - quality waffle weave microfiber or a genuine cod oil impregnated calf or lamb skin chamois (shammy) The natural chamois are great, they absorb well, you can wring them out, and they are super safe for your paint. The drawback comes in the lifespan - a high quality chamois isn't cheap, although there are all the synthetic ones out there that aren't nearly as safe for the paint, most people rarely take the time to look for the natural ones. Also for the cost it has a relatively short life span... after each use it will get a little worn, and eventually need to be replaced. You also cannot use a drying agent like detail spray as it will ruin the chamois. The other option, waffle weave microfiber, has an indefinite lifespan as long as its cared for correctly, is easily as absorbent if not moreso than the chamois and can be used with a drying agent without fear of damaging the towel. The Great White Drying Towel that we sell is constructed of the highest grade of microfiber available, its an undyed heavy weave which makes it super absorbent and super soft. http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-106-adams-great-white-drying-towel.aspx
  22. Our 'yardstick' for comparison was Menzerna SIP and Powergloss... those were our favorite 'compounds' when our stuff wasn't strong enough to get the job done... if I had to peg it I'd put it closer to SIP, leaning a tad more towards the aggressive side. Lofty claims, but trust me, we've been working on this one for a LOOOOOOOOONG time. I'm with you, not a fan of the 105/205 combo myself.
  23. Hell, even I have some of the costco towels, I think theres a pack of those in every house in America LOL! I just use them for 'non-delicate' tasks. Glass cleaning, door jambs, under the hood, carpets and interior panels. Afterall they're inexpensive and don't link like cotton so you can use them for that kind of stuff. Keeps your GOOD towels preserved for more dedicated tasks like paint care. In our forum discussions theres 2 schools of thought on this, either is right, just a matter of preference. I personally like our Double Soft Premium microfiber for detail spray use (once you feel one of these towels you'll be blown away) you simply spray a light mist of DS onto the area you'll be treating. Wipe gently with one side of the folded towel, flip to the other side and buff away the gloss enhancer residue. Others prefer our Waterless Wash towels. Its a very soft waffle weave towel in a good size for quick wipe downs, the reason I don't personally care for them in this use is they are absorbent, so they don't allow the gloss enhancer to do its full job before it gets sucked into the towel. Again, no right or wrong, just preference.
