  1. Everyone pretty much covered the basics. Zaino is not a corrective product so it is not meant to be used with the PC... they really don't have any polishes or any product with a 'cut' to it. On unprepped paint it will act as a filler and hide the swirls in your clearcoat, nothing wrong with that, but you will need to reapply as the swirls will reappear. If you want to go with the PC to prep the paint and actually REMOVE the swirl marks check out Adams Swirl & Haze Remover on an orange pad followed with Fine Machine Polish on a white pad. After you've buffed the paint out you can apply whatever product you like over the top... personally on my TBSS I prefer Americana Paste Wax REFLECTION SHOT!!
  2. Just thought I'd let you guys know I'll be working at the Adams warehouse again this weekend (10/24) from 9-noon. Adam's Polishes 2020 W 166th St Torrance, CA 90504-1905 Feel free to stop by and hang out or even try some of the products. I'll be there giving detail advice and helping demo some of the products. There will be some freebies given away and coffee, doughnuts, etc. Nothing too formal, just a chance to hang out and play with some detail products. Hope some of you can make it, we could use an SSS to demo some stuff on
  3. Gonna be a hell of a series... I call Angles in 7 games. Theres a lot of things people don't know about the Angels b/c they just don't get any respect from ESPN or the major media outlets. The Angels are the only team in history with 11 players with 50-plus RBIs, they tied the record for most players (10) with 100 hits and tied for the most players (nine) with 60-plus runs scored. In other words we have the most productive offense in all of baseball this year, but for some reason no one seems to know that. At multiple times this season the Angles had all 9 hitters over .300 with a league leading on base percentage. Against the Yankees in 10 games this year, the Angels scored 65 runs. First baseman Kendry Morales went 12-for-32 with three homers. Catcher Mike Napoli went 11-for-22, that also includes the stretch 60+ games this year where we were without Hunter and Vlad, 2 of the biggest bats in our lineup! The Angels will be putting pressure on the Yankees defense by running. No team went from first to third on singles more often than the 2009 Angels. We split the season series this year, but the Angels are still the ONLY team in baseball with a winning record against NY over the past decade.
  4. Its a synthetic sealant... not much different than the hundreds of other products on the market at a fraction of the cost. Some of the claims are way overblown and FWIW you put 25 coats of ANYTHING on your paint its gonna offer pretty good protection. I LOL at these products that claim it'll survive a nuclear blast, all you have to do is apply a bazillion coats
  5. Tor what its worth, my recent writeup for another board. The biggest thing for vehicles that see winter usage, especially in snow, is durable protection:
  6. Start with a claybar, follow with a polish, and that should be enough to take them out unless the water etched the clear at which point you'd need something more aggressive.
  7. WOW... thats a really nice compliment. Thanks. BTW - I looooooooooove your sig pic. Its amazing how quickly detailing supplies can eat a hole in your wallet. I've always got discount codes for those that need them so hit me up whenever you need to order.
  8. permanent addition to the product line.
  9. Very good actually... I hadn't put down a new coat in awhile, even after all the ash thats been in the air from the fires and doing complete waterless washes a few times a week the water was still beading up like the day it was first applied. 2 thin coats of Americana have about the same durability level as a single coat of most sealants IMHO.
  10. The TBSS hasn't seen anything other than Waterless Wash and Detail Spray for the better part of a month now. Amazingly it had just now gotten to the point where it needed a full wash and wax, so after detailing the wifes equinox today I pulled my baby into the garage and did a complete wash, spot buffed a few places where there were some minor swirls and added a fresh coat of Americana. Finished just before sunset so I drove up to the local Highschool parking lot and snapped some shots, enjoy Note the blacked out puzzle piece sticker... my friend jokes that I'm "Murdered out for Autism Awareness"
  11. Dooooood!!! Sucks to see it go Alex... any plans for the next ride yet??
  12. A porter cable and an assortment of polishes will be where to start. You'll also need things like claybars, detail spray, microfiber, etc. The Adams videos are a great overview of the detailing process. If you need more in depth info you can always feel free to hit me up as well. You can watch the videos for free here: http://www.adamspolishes.com/t-videos.aspx
  13. Just seeing if any SSS guys want to come out, this is already posted on the G8 forums and the TBSS boards, it'd be nice to see some of the SSS crew out there too. Saturday September 12th Monthly Motorgen Meet at Nick's Burger in Fullerton. Here's the even on the calendar with details! The meet starts at 6:30p.m. A great mix of domestic, import, and euro. Everyone is welcome - the food is good and it's a great group of people!http://www.motorgen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7235 The address for Nick's is: Nick's Burger 1712 W. Orangethorpe Ave Fullerton, CA 92833
  14. The more the merrier. The reason Adams hosts these things is so you can learn... most people that come out aren't experienced detailers, they're people looking to learn how to "do it themselves" Plus they put on a pretty decent sale as well. Not at all... free to all who want to attend. See you guys there.
  15. I'll be there early helping setup since I'll be there to lend advice, troubleshoot, etc. Warehouse doors open up at 9am... we'll have coffee and doughnuts.
  16. Claybar would be the safest way to get it off.... and shouldn't be a problem. I see line paint splashed down all kinds of cars and it typically comes off with the claybar.
  17. Yep... torrance, hope you can make it out man... if not no biggie. The address is 2020 W 166th St Torrance, CA 90504-1905
  18. Hey guys, just putting it out there if you're interested. I'll be helping out at the Adams warehouse this weekend for the detail clinic, so if you want to stop by and say "whats up" feel free. Also if you have a question about detailing, want me to demo something out on your truck, show you how to clean, remove, or fix a problem area, etc I'll be happy to help you out... hell I'll have a whole warehouse of product at my disposal so if you want something fixed now is the time!! LOL Hopefully we see a few Silvy SS's out there, maybe even cruise somewhere for lunch afterwards
  19. NICE... be sure to post pics up. The "new" PC is the 7424XP... essentially the same as the old PC, only changes are a slightly higher power motor (more speed) and they moved the speed dial from the bottom of the machine to the lower section of the body so you don't have to turn it over to adjust settings. Really is a great tool and you'd have to be a real dummy to mess something up... most of it is common sense type things. I was using mine to work on this hunk of junk yesterday
  20. Trip out chase... I saw this vid a few days ago... didn't know you had anything to do with it.
  21. Claybar would be a good start, follow with a polish, then wax/seal. Done.
