  1. Well, the guy called me and I explained to him what I saw when I came out from work and he couldn't believe it. Ya, me either dummy! Anyways, I asked him what he wanted to do and he asked me the same so I told him I just wanted it fixed. I told him I would get a few estimates and get back to him so it was left at that. I also told him I would park in the same place as last time so he could look at the damage he did. This morning when I was getting off, my partner was already in the parking lot and called to tell me that a guy was looking at my truck. I know he was like "that little @$$ scratch?" I haven't talked to him since that first call, but I went and got a few estimates which amount to about $400.00 on both and both are from dealerships! I might get one more just to tell him I have three. I ended up getting ahold of his information. I know his address and everything so if he tries anything stupid, we will be going to court. I just hope he does the right thing because after all he is one of my union brothers and I'd rather not take it there if you know what I mean. He seems like he will take care of it, but who knows what will happen when he sees those estimates. Late- Alex
  2. Guess no one got that! Late- Alex
  3. Like a blank kit where there are no holes? Late- Alex
  4. So that double din thing doesn't exist? Anyone have any info on the PAC adapters? Late- Alex
  5. The bass will stay the same as now, two RF P2's 10" powered by a Punch 200 amp. I hardly ever turn it up enough to shake things up anymore due to some hearing loss and I don't want to loose anymore. I was thinking about that as well, just hooking up the factory speakers to the Alpine HU or even maybe installing that RF amp I got from Dylan to the factory speakers and just adjusting it with the fader control. Actually, now that I think of it, I have to add that RF amp because I'm going to run the mids and highs through my Alpine sound processor. I'll hook that center channel speaker up to the radio itself. I just figure I might as well change it all out since I'm already doing this much. Late- Alex
  6. Well I talked to my insurance agent and he gave me a few options: 1. Talk to the employer and see if they can find out who did it by the license plate number. Impossible because we work out of our union hall so that terminal would not have any info on file that would help me. Like they would anyways, we are always fighting with the employers. 2. Go to the DMV. He said they will give you info on the SUV, but I have to go in person because they want to know who wants the info. Looks like the way to go for me! Then contact that person and take them to small claims court. 3. File a claim, pay the deductable and then they go after that person's insurance carrier for that money and the repair bill. That will probably be my last option if the DMV doesn't help me. Hopefully this person will do the right thing. I don't want to create drama with one of my fellow union brothers. I haven't gotten a call as of yet so who knows. If I don't get one by today, I will be going to the DMV tomorow to see what happens. Late- Alex
  7. As many of you all know I bought Dylan's set up the other day and now I'm trying to piece together a parts list of what I need before installation. Maybe some of you audio experts can answer some of my questions. 1. I need to find a double din installation kit for this Alpine HU and the center channel. I tried Crutchfield and they don't have one for my truck. These two items are full sized din units. Crutchfield only had the full din for the HU along with a 1/2 din for an EQ. 2. I want to keep my steering wheel controls so I called PAC and they told me I needed SWI-ALP. I also want to keep my chimes (no Onstar) so they told me I needed C2R-GM24. Do I need both of those and can both be installed back to back? Someone told me that they installed the steering wheel module and did not need the chime module, but the chimes were all kept with this one unit. Is that possible? 3. What size are the front and rear door speakers? I'm looking to replace them as well when I do everything else? What about the A pillar tweeters, anything special I need to know about them? What about brands? TIA Late- Alex
  8. The whole thing guys is that I don't know who this person is. I got off work and this person must have been coming in because like I stated before, there was nobody close to me when I went into work. How do I go about getting someones information with a license plate number? I'll do whatever it takes if this person doesn't do the right thing, I'll go all the way. BTW, I'm not paying for natha, I already had it fixed once. This person did that damage so that person should pay for it all. Late- Alex
  9. I got off work this morning to see an Expedition's front bumper butted right up against my rear bumper. It left a scratch about 1/4" to 1/2" long but kind of deep. It was the person's front license plate mounting bolt that did the damage. I can't believe people and to top it off, the left it that way. You would think that person would have moved it back or even move it completely away from my truck. What a ! I always park at least a 1/2 mile away from anyone and still these people seem to mess up! Anyways, I tried to talk to security of the terminal, but they said it was the job of the Port Police, ya right! Lazy asses! So I call the Port Police and they say they will send someone out. About 10 minutes later I get a call and it's the same lady telling me the Port Police doesn't go out to calls like that anymore unless there is someone hurt or the other person doesn't want to give their information out. She goes on to explain to me that I need to file a claim with my insurance company. I've had previous rear bumper damage before so I know it will be less than my deductable so how do I go about this? The previous damage costed around $300.00 mainly because they had to spray the whole bumper and not just the spot where the damage was done. Do I still file a claim with my insurance company? If I do, I'm sure I will have to pay the deductable which is no big deal, but then what happens? Do they go after that person for my deductable and reimburse me back? Hopefully this person does the right thing and gets back at me since I left a note stating he/she damaged my truck and I have pics and a witness that saw his/her bumper on my bumper. Anyone have any guesses on what will happen if I file a claim? TIA Damage How I was parked. You can see how far away that truck is from mine. When I get to work there is no one around me for miles. 10. If you look at the fine print at the bottom of the page: Here is that NVE-N872A. That can't be right can it? Late- Alex
  11. Is this what they are talking about? If you're looking to get XM Satellite Radio in your car, and if you have an XM-ready Alpine stereo, this package is for you. It features the XM Direct radio, an XM antenna, and the adapter cable you'll need to connect the radio to your Alpine stereo. The XM Direct radio is super-compact, so it will fit neatly in a convenient spot — under the passenger seat is the most typical location. Read more Details: » XM Direct XM radio » Alpine adapter cable » roof-mount XM antenna with 19.75-ft. cable » single-cable antenna connection » select channel name, channel number, artist, song title, or category name to appear on receiver's display » channel scan/search » channel presets » dimensions: 4-1/2"W x 1-5/16"H x 5-1/8"D (tuner); 1-13/16"W x 11/16"H x 2-3/8"D (antenna) » warranty: 1 year Then I would try to modify the factory antenna wire to fit this adaptor? Late- Alex
  12. Does anyone have a link for this adaptor for the Alpine HU? Late- Alex
  13. Recently I bought all of Dylan's Alpine set up which includes the IVA D310 flip out screen which is XM compatible. Since I already have XM, I figure I might as well keep it with the Alpine head unit. I went to a local installation place to get a quote to install all of it and they told me that if I remove the factory head unit, my XM would be lost and I would have to add a different XM system to the Alpine which includes a different XM antenna. Now............. I thought the factory XM reciever was behind the glove compartment and a wire was ran to the factory head unit? I remember seeing two wires behind the factory head unit which were the main harness and another which I thought was the XM wire. If that's the case then why would my XM be removed by removing the factory head unit? I thought there was some type of interface module I could buy and install inline to run my XM to the Alpine head unit? I could be wrong, but does any of that make sense? This guy tells me he has been doing this for over 25 years and I'm thinking to myself, if that's the case, I'm not coming back here! TIA Late- Alex
  14. Good stuff! Man, it's confusing as hell looking at all those wires, but I plan to have a shop near me do the installation. Especially since I will be adding the XM and the steering wheel control modules unless I buy the remote for it. I'm still contemplating whether or not to change out all the door speakers and the A pillar tweeters. I'm thinking, if imma do it, might as go all the way. Late- Alex
  15. I've had my stock head unit with the PAC adapter (sub hook up) along with an Alpine sound processor in my truck for a while and have never had a complaint. It's nice since it all looks stock from the outside. The only thing you see is the box under the back seat, but that is only if you open the back doors. I would highly recommend this set up to anyone not looking to spend an arm and a leg on audio equipment, but want some quality sounding bass added to an already nice sounding Bose system. HERE IS MY SET UP THREAD! Late- Alex
  16. Cool, I was always interested in that set up! Pm sent Late- Alex
  17. Replied. Pending sale w/ someone from GMFS but he seems sketchy... Cash talks... bullshit walks... if you wanna meet up and do the sale I'll be at the GOEZ show in Fullerton this coming sunday. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shit, we could do it sooner than that if you want? Let me know either way. It's money in your pocket. Late- Alex
  18. Seriously interested in the Alpine set up! Pm sent. Late- Alex
  19. Me and the wife went to the dealership last nite just to see how much the old body style Tahoes were going for and I was surprised at the amount these guys were asking for them. They had two of them, both over $45k. What a joke! I could have gotten a new '07 model for that price. Anyways, while walking to my truck after thinking that these dealerships are full of shit, the salesman was asking me about my SSS. He asked if it was an AWD model and I told him yes, why? He said because people are looking for those particular models and not the 2WD ones. I was kind of shocked and happy at the same time. I was thinking in my head, "tell them to call me, I'll sell them mine!" Late- Alex
  20. Dodgers baby! Gotta go with the home team! Late- Alex
  21. My biggest beef with Harley's is that they seem to have "old" technology with such a modern price tag attached to them. I guess that's why I always had negative things to say about them. Why are they still air cooled? It's hard to justify spending upwards of 23k for a bike that goes soo slow IMHO when I can get a GSXR 1000 for half that price and go 175mph. There are trade offs like creature comforts, I understand that. I'm just a person who likes to go fast which is why I'm looking at getting the bigger motor from the start. I've been told it's a whole different ride which I really need to try for myself. I plan on renting a few different ones and riding with my neighbor. I think that's the best way for me to get a feel for the type of bike I want. Besides, it seems alot more logical to rent first, make a decision and purchase it rather than just buying it outright and not be happy with a 23k purchase. I am seriously looking at that Street Glide though! Late- Alex
  22. Looks like we're all getting rid of our Gixxers. Late- Alex
  23. Oh... If so, sorry for bustin your balls alex. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Naw it was me! I really don't want to buy one, but what else is there, a Goldwing? I really don't want a jap cruiser and I seriously doubt I can afford something custom so I'm left with a Hardley. What am I going to do? Late- Alex
